I appreciate that you took an otherwise tabletop quality paintjob to a higher standard by doing camo. Kudos. I score the effort, not just the results. On the other hand, I dinged you on the 'coolness' factor because of the writing of their names on the base. I really dislike when people do that on armies. In an individual model game, ala Necromunda, it's cool. Necessary, even. In an army, like a 40k army, it detracts from the look. It ruins my suspension of disbelief. Magically, each soldiers name is written in white on the ground and it follows them wherever they go! |

Hey Ghidorah! Thanks so much for the honest and in depth critique. Thanks for the kind words on the camo! In terms of the names, I've always figured it's just personal preference. I know it's a little sillly considering the turnover of men in a typical guard army, but it just makes a model feel more 'finished' to me. I appreciate that it's not for everyone though! I have actually moved into Necromunda since this picture, and I'd love it if you could look at a few of my latest pics - see if I've improved at all! Again, thanks so much :) |
