Background and Description

Dire Avengers defend their craftworld
Dire Avengers are supposed to be the most common Aspect Warrior among the Craftworlds.
Note: These rules and descriptions are necessarily truncated. Please refer to your 4th Edition Eldar Codex for specific model statistics, rules and points costs
Special Rules and Wargear
- Fleet of Foot
- Avenger Shuriken Catapult: Extended range beyond those of the Guardians'.
Upgrades
- Exarch:
- Diresword: Power weapon with a chance to kill outright.
- Twin Shuriken Catapults: doubles the ranged attacks for the Exarch.
- Shimmershield: Exarch and unit gain an invulnerable save.
- Bladestorm: Add an additional ranged attack for each member of the squad, but may not fire the following turn.
- Defend: Models attacking the Exarch and his squad in close combat lose an attack per turn (minimum 1)
- Transport: Dire Avengers can be mounted in a Wave Serpent
Strengths
The Exarch power Bladestorm is a great way to destroy an enemy unit in one shooting phase, (especially in a unit of 10 Avengers and a Farseer with guide and doom to re-roll all failed hits and wounds).
Dire Avengers have a good armor save of a 4+ which is nice for absorbing incoming fire.
Weaknesses
After using a bladestorm the Dire Avengers are unable to shoot for the next turn, leaving them vulnerable,(though this is easily fixed with a Waveserpent transport).
