Farseer

Farseers are Eldar HQ models in the 4th Edition Eldar Codex for Warhammer 40,000

Farseers follow the Path of the Seer and predict the fate of their Craftworlds and their warriors. They are psykers, advisors, and generals.

Special Rules and Wargear

  1. Independent Character.
  2. Fleet of Foot.
  3. Rune Armour: Grants an invulnerable Save
  4. Ghosthelm: Grants a save against Perils of the Warp
  5. Shuriken pistol
  6. Witchblade
  7. Warlocks: Each Farseer allows you to include a squad of 3-10 Warlocks. Farseer and Warlocks count as a single HQ choice.

Upgrades

  1. Upgrade witchblade to singing spear to provide a single, high BS, high S attack
  2. Runes of warding: Increases chance of enemy rolling Perils of the Warp
  3. Runes of witnessing: Increases chance to pass psychic test. Increases chances of perils of the warp.
  4. Psychic Powers: Farseers choose from 1 to 4
    1. Doom: Re-roll to wound rolls on a target non-vehicle unit
    2. Eldritch Storm: Large blast attack
    3. Fortune: Friendly unit re-rolls failed saves
    4. Guide: Re-roll to hit
    5. Mind War: Leadership roll off with a character. Enemy character takes wounds based on difference.
  5. Spirit Stones: Allow a Farseer to use two powers in a turn, but not the same power twice
  6. Eldar jetbike: see also Guardian Jetbike Squadron. Increased Toughness and armor save of the rider. May move in assault phase and gains cover when turbo boosting.

Strengths

  1. Mind war can be used to take out commanders easily even when hidden in their own squads.
  2. Fortune and guide are invaluable support powers.
  3. Well protected against perils of the warp with ghosthelm and possible runes of witnessing.
  4. Runes of warding can make enemy psykers roll 3 dice and discard the lowest for psychic tests.
  5. can make vehicles vulnerable (eldritch storm).

Weaknesses

  1. Vunerable with T3 and a 4+ save.
