Rangers are scout troops for the Eldar in the 4th Edition Eldar Codex for Warhammer 40,000.

Pathfinders sneak into position

Rangers leave their Craftworlds at great risk to themselves in order to walk the Path of the Outcast. In times of need, they return to use their skills in defense of the Eldar.

Special Rules and Wargear

  1. Fleet of Foot
  2. Shuriken pistol
  3. Masters of Stealth: Infiltrate, Move Through Cover, Stealth
  4. Ranger Long Rifle: Heavy, Sniper, Pinning. High to-hit rolls count as AP 1.

Upgrades

  1. Pathfinders: Units can be upgraded to pathfinders at an additional cost. They ignore difficult terrain, increase their cover save from stealth, and gain the Scouts rule.

Strengths

36 inches range means that they can kill a lot of units before they even get in firing range.

Weaknesses

they are at a disadvantage against almost anything that deepstrikies or has a flamer.
