A Venerable Dreadnought may be either a HQ or an Elites choice in the 3rd Edition Space Wolves Codex for Warhammer 40,000.

Background and Description

The oldest of the Space Wolves Dreadnoughts are called upon only in times of great crisis. The oldest of these, Bjorn the Fellhanded, even knew Leman Russ and saw The Emperor before he was entombed. Roused by the Iron Priests, they aid their brothers in the battle.

Special Rules and Wargear

• Walker.
• Dreadnought Close Combat Weapon with Storm Bolter
• Old and Wise: You may reroll the dice to determine which player goes first.
• Hard to Kill: When hit, the damage result dice may be rerolled, though the second result must be accepted.
• Leader: May be taken as either a HQ or an Elites choice.

Upgrades

• Must take one of the following:
  • Assault Cannon.
  • Twin-Linked Lascannon.
  • Twin-Linked Heavy Bolter.
  • Multi-Melta.
  • Plasma Cannon.
  • Twin-Linked Autocannon.
• May replace Storm Bolter with a Heavy Flamer.
• May replace Dreadnought Close Combat Weapon with Storm Bolter with a Missile Launcher.
• May take any of the following upgrades:
