Wave Serpent

Wave Serpents are the dedicated transports of the Eldar in the 4th Edition Eldar Codex for Warhammer 40,000.

Wave Serpents protect their precious cargo with a shimmering field and plenty of speed.

Note: These rules and descriptions are necessarily truncated. Please refer to your 4th Edition Eldar Codex for specific model statistics, rules and points costs

Special Rules and Wargear

  1. Skimmer
  2. Tank
  3. Fast
  4. Transport: May carry 12 models or 5 Wraithguard plus up to two non-wraithguard characters
  5. Access Point: Rear
  6. 0 Fire Points
  7. Twin-linked Shuriken Catapult
  8. Energy Field: Strength of ranged attacks have a cap. Ranged attacks gain a maximum of 1D6 to roll for penetration, except when fired at the rear armor.

Upgrades

  1. Weapon:
    1. Twin-linked shuriken cannons
    2. Twin-linked scatter lasers
    3. Twin-linked Eldar missile launchers
    4. Twin-linked starcannons
    5. Twin-linked brightlances
  2. Upgrade shuriken catapult to shuriken cannon
  3. Vectored Engines: Forced landing instead of crashing from immobilization
  4. Star Engines: Additional movement in place of shooting but may not embark or disembark troops that turn.
  5. Spirit stones:Crew stunned results become crew shaken

Strengths

  1. Toughest dedicated transport in 40k (discounting Land Raiders). Good capacity. Fastest dedicated transport. Very strong rams against enemy vehicles.
  2. Can destroy threats while transporting troops.

Weaknesses

  1. Very expensive compared to most other transports. Low firepower for points value. Lack of fire points means transported units must expose themselves to enemy fire to affect the battle. Rear access point makes it difficult to set up assaults out of.
