Interesting. According to this release schedule the Imperium was slated for release before Aircraft:

I'm holding out for the Imperium.

Roadmaps are nearly always best interpreted as guidelines not actual rules.

Plus any number of things can happen to push things up or down - something is wildly more popular so you jump on it and maximise what you've got for it a little earlier; something is not as popular so you boost content to get more exposure for it to help it up; something causes a mould to burn out too fast so you've got to suddenly redesign etc...

Personally I'm in the "wait and see" camp which means I'm trying not to collect "all the things" so wanting to see which one really catches my eye the most

I love that Commonwealth logo is a bear doing Tai-Chi.

Also I'm a bit confused by the planes. Why is the box one huge plane? Shouldn't it be a bunch of tiny swarms of fighters? They seem out of scale to the rest of the game.

A Prussian is never late, nor is he early.

The lesser races simply have inferior timekeeping.

Real world tanks are much smaller and planes much bigger than you'd think.

The scale is probably correct, but it is worth adding that the flyers are almost more vanity-tokens versus the other units. They come on, make a pass, and leave the table. I'm an Armoured Clash super-fan, so I ordered two of each, but even I admit they are an abstraction in the current rules.

If the release time-table is accurate, I am super hyped for the campaign book, and Imperium in the near future! Warcradle hasn't missed yet, and AC is an INCREDIBLY good game.

The time has come for the Prussians to flex their might as they enter Armoured Clash, ready and waiting.

Boasting a military prowess that the other Great Powers simply cannot ignore, the Imperium join the roster for Armoured Clash in April with the Imperium Faction Battlegroup Starter Set and Imperium Introductory Set. Prove your worth and solidify yourself as a steadfast commander of the Imperium.

Through hard work, noble spirit and unwavering discipline, the Imperium is dominant across central Europe and beyond. Thanks to their pragmatism and philosophy of innovation, the Imperium is renowned for its understanding of the large-scale orchestration of war. Behind much of this success, the mysterious Ordo Teutonic continues to influence across all levels of the military and government, while their true goals remain obfuscated.

Dystopian Wars

Players manning a SUSA fleet can look forward to the release of the Alliance Salvador Squadron in April, introducing the formidable Salvador Battlecruiser.

The Alliance may be the youngest of the Great Powers but the uniting of the Rebublique of France, the League of Italian States, the Sovereignty of Spain and the Kingdom of Portugal cannot be ignored. With the addition of the Socialist Unity of South America (SUSA), the time has come for President Bonaparte to take his place on the world stage.

Loving this game, and the Imperium looks amazing. I will eagerly grab a couple of the big army boxes as I have for every release thus far.

I will say, I do wish (as weird as this might sound), that there weren't so many multi-build kits that make three different units. It is very hard to buy precisely what you want as to build a couple reinforced units of any specific armoured vehicle, you start buying the same box over and over, reaching a point where you just don't want your 10th unit of any of the mono-build items. At least when a given chassis only build two, this isn't quite so exaggerated.

Alright, the Imperium is finally an army that has literally nothing I don't like (every other faction has a unit or two that I don't jive with) so I guess that's my faction now

Sieger/Faust looks pretty awkward to me, like it's 50 years behind the Hochmeister in tech and design

Everything smaller is pretty neat

I assume thats because we only see DW colossi from the waist up amd because in terms of scale they are much much larger than the Sieger/Faust

They need to do research and see how many people buy multiple to have all the variants and how many just magnetize them.

If very few people buy multiple then designing the models to be magnetized makes much more sense.

The Imperium fortify their position on the battlefields of Europe this month with even more reinforcements arriving soon.

Following their introduction to Armoured Clash in April, the Imperium go airborne with the launch of the Messer Interceptor. This Aerial unit is ideal at ensuring you have the upper hand in a dogfight and is not to be underestimated.

This May, you will also be able to pick up separate releases of the Imperium Sieger Regiment, Armoured Regiment, and Infantry Regiment, previously seen in the Imperium Faction Battlegroup Starter Set.

These products are due to be released at the end of May 2025.

Armoured Clash

Reinforce your Armoured Clash Prussian armies this month with the Imperium Sieger Regiment, Armoured Regiment, and Infantry Regiment, or fight for control of the skies with the Messer Interceptor

Messer Interceptor

Boasting unmatched manoeuvrability thanks to a supercharger engine, the effectiveness of the Messer is further enhanced by its armament: a pair of 30mm high-velocity cannons. 6x Teutonic Armiger Castellans (may also be built as Teutonic Armiger Crusaders)
4x Scion Heavy Dreirad (may also be built as Scion Vierling Dreirad)

Imperium Armoured Regiment

You'll find heavy support for your Imperium force in the Imperium Armoured Regiment Box. Sturmpanzer Battletanks grind forward, able to deal with almost any target thanks to their varied weaponry.

Imperium Infantry Regiment

You'll find support for your Imperium force in the Imperium Infantry Regiment Box. Scion Grenadier Platoons enforce the Kaiser’s will within Europe and beyond, their distinctive Spandau Arc Rifles unleashing voltaic death upon their enemies. Luftlancer Air Jaegers, experts in duelling, find the choicest targets to face off against. Each one using their jet packs to close the distance with surprising speed.

Contents:
6x Scion Grenadier Platoon
4x Luftlancer Air Jaegers
4x Krupp Field Guns (may also be built as Essen Rocket Field Guns or Thunar Arc Field Guns)

That last ship looks like it took a bit of everything - I see Imperium, Sultanate, Crown

Faster rules and more mid-game punch sounds good; esp for scaling the game up to having larger fleets as collections mature and the model range gets larger

This is excellent news. I especially like that the focus is on the game not being over by turn two. That was the biggest issue with local players and why the game didn't take off well in the local store.

It can be really fun seeing your ships/models/units blast stuff off the table in quick succession. Really makes you feel like your stuff is doing stuff and winning.

So its super easy to end up leaning into that during game design/balancing/feedback and miss out on the fact that if you're having a great time your opponent really isn't. Plus if it gets so killy so fast yeah - the game is over so swiftly or the game state is changed early to the point where one player is "mopping up" and the other is struggling and they've hardly had a turn to do anything.

The best games are the ones that keep that win-loss on a knife edge for as many turns as possible; where both sides get to do stuff with their stuff and not see it gone before the first or second turn is over etc

It does vary a bit depending on how intelligent one player uses his activations. There's a bad tendency of new players to want to shoot units that have already/just activated in the turn, simply because they are now closer and in a more ideal target range. That is the highway to losing ultra fast.

Especially a lack of long range units in a force could mean that you are on the backfoot very early on in a game. If your opponent just snipes your one or two units capable of firing at long range, you could easily be done for. A trap I have to avoid when writing lists for my Scandinavians for instance.

But overall, I do agree with pretty much everything the blog post says. Shorter activations: good. Lethality turned down a bit: good, more viable late game: good!

The Union focus their efforts on battlefield logistics this month with the introduction of the Durango Heavy Rail Set. An alternative to the Lakota behemoth, the Durango is a locomotive powerhouse that offers Union commanders the perfect means of transporting their troops, tanks, and more.

Not only that, Generals can take pride in commanding their chosen army with a new range of Faction Command & Conquest Decks. Featuring a unique faction-themed card back, these decks help you represent your allegiance to your favourite faction.

These products are due to be released at the end of June 2025.

Durango Heavy Rail Set

Within this Armoured Clash Battlegroup Set is a Durango Heavy Rail behemoth for your Union force. Where the Lakota Heavy Rail serves as a mobile strongpoint, the Durango focuses on logistical power projection. Alongside the Newhaven Forward Garrison for infantry, the Rock Ridge Flatbed ensures swift delivery of Rolling Thunder tanks and Armstrong heavy artillery, enabling immediate frontline engagement and bombardment.

Contents:
1x Durango Shunter
2x Newhaven Forward Garrison
2x Rockridge Flatbed
2x Rolling Thunder Main Battle Tanks (may also be built as Kodiak Artillery Tanks or Reaper Arc Tanks)
4x UR-45 Heavy Mechs (may also be built as UR-45E Arc Mechs)
5x UR-31E Iron Eagle Cavalry
2x Armstrong Heavy Artillery (may also be built as Moab Thermobaric Mortars)

Faction-themed Command & Conquest Decks

Upon the field of battle, troops march forward and engines of war let loose volleys of death upon the enemy, each acting under the orders and strategic acumen of their Generals. In battle, these take the form of your Command & Conquest Deck. In games of Armoured Clash, these faction-themed cards allow players to issue Commands, claim Conquests, and score Victory Points. In short, they are a General’s key to victory. But use them wisely. For your enemy will have these same tools at their command…

You can pre-order all of these products at your FLGS or online at Wayland Games on the 30th of May 2025.

This month, an immense power is assembling, with the Commonwealth joining the fight in Armoured Clash.

The might of the Commonwealth’s reserves is primed to be put on full display in July, as the Commonwealth Faction Battlegroup Starter Set allows commanders to prove themselves to their Tsar. The Commonwealth Introductory Set also offers a great way to get started with the faction and get a taste for its true potential.

Accompanying the two sets of miniatures is the Kometa Interceptor, offering to be an invaluable aerial unit for your Commonwealth army. Represent your devotion to the Commonwealth with the new faction-themed Command & Conquest Deck to represent the motherland. Long live the Commonwealth; long live her People, long live the Tsar!

These products are due to be released at the end of July 2025.

Commonwealth Faction Battlegroup - Starter Set

The Commonwealth Faction Battlegroup Starter Set contains everything you need to begin playing games of Armoured Clash as the general of a Commonwealth force. Exploding from beneath the ground in geysers of rock and ice, the Miron Super-Heavy Borer dominates the battlefield with its sheer size alone.

16x Ryadovoy Rifle Platoon
8x Cossack Ovcharka War Dogs
4x Krot Armoured Borers (may also be built as Dikobraz Artillery Borers)
10x Steppe Outrider Cavalry

Kometa Interceptor

Designed explicitly for going head-to-head with more technologically sophisticated counterparts and coming away intact, the Kometa is a rugged and highly effective aircraft. Armed with a rapid-fire Ogon Machine Gun, a favoured tactic of Kometa pilots is to hug the ground, concealed by the snowstorms produced by their army’s Cryo Generators, before pulling up and strafing the underside of enemy aircraft. These weapons have proven themselves to be no-less effective against ground-based targets, punching indiscriminately through metal and flesh.

Contents:
1x Kometa Interceptor

Commonwealth Command & Conquest Deck

Upon the field of battle, troops march forward and engines of war let loose volleys of death upon the enemy, each acting under the orders and strategic acumen of their Generals.
