Yeah...It really is....but, ..it fits.

Edit: It really does seem that Blood Moon could also be called " Andy Bruss has the worst life on Earth"....while other PCs may have experianced agony and pain...Andy has been swimming in it since the very first chapter...how the man hasn't gone completely insane is beyond me.

I think that moment might just be coming for poor Andy tbh... with Wendy along for the ride.

Very well written btw FITZZ, exceptionally harsh but we are dealing with vampires, werewolves and monsters of all breeds here.

@Warork... welcome back!

Thanks Aurelia, I'm really aiming to make this chapter of BM the most grim by far...so I suppose everyone should expect that same sort of grimness to occur as we progress.

Oh I have no doubt that one of these days Andy is going to break down and develop some sort of multiple personality...

Oh...wait...

Its good to be back Aurelia...I missed the days of thinking of new ways to make each other characters' lives hell while I was gone...such fun times...

In fact...lemme get something up here soon...

Now I just need Kais to get back here...darn him...disappearing at the most inopportune times...

Sounds good bro...no need to rush.

I'd also really apprieciate it if darksage and berserker could get some RP's up soon....need to get things moving with the portal business.

So I'm just trying to figure this out...

Atlas, Isabelle, and Steve are in one place in this airport...Jimmy, Valentin, and Dez are in another place but in the same airport...

Hmmm....this may complicate things...

Next thing you know Cass is going to die because not only is he a kid, but he's also a puppy so that's doubly sad.
Now I know that Claudia was supposed to be abducted in the beginning so I'll wait to see what Mordo does with that first.

And the award for "Best tradgedy scene" goes too Halonachos!

Seriously though, if there were an award for sad RPs...Andy would have won it hands down...

Yeah, I channeled my inner tragedy writer on that one so I feel like a sillypost is slightly in order. Just to balance out the world.

We're not just talking one person, we're talking an airport full of people...yeah...one person seeing something like that is one thing, but a hundred? Or a thousand? That's a different can of worms entirely...

... and Ineptus' computer needs to be fixed I remember him saying...

... and, Warork, I understand, but the majority will try and think of a logical explanation for it, so they may just see..

I wouldn't call it " Atlas hate"...Harlow is making perfect sense with his actions as a Loyalist to the throne..
He's just lost several friends and allies, and Atlas and Belle are both connected to Dez, the LB and were in the company of Vampires...all of which would be considered enemies of Lycan kind.
Remember...this is war, and as far as Natasha is concerned..Atlas and Belle have been cooperating with traitors and enemies...at the very least.

Fitzz don't worry, I'm just sayong it as a joke...

And I get that Atlas doesn't completely understand Werewolf culture...or the politics that are going on.

Pretty nice RP there Kais...I do like the fact that Atlas is a bit of a mystery and is cloudy on his past...gives him lots of room to develop...
But, I am a bit confused about one thing...as Atlas grew up in the crooked world, born of a pack that was on the run from vampires...it would seem to me that he ( Atlas') insticts would be to hate Vampires even more than a " normal" wolf...if you follow.

Why thank you...

... but, as much as he may hate them, he was forced to cooperate with Valentin so he can try and get to Natasha through the LB...

... he found he could work with Valentin, and can therefore believe that Vampires can be different...

... and also, he doesn't know its a sort of "rule" to hate Vampires...

Less a " rule" and more of a natural reaction for most wolves...but it can be supressed in some cases...most wolves ( particularly those who tend to be very aggresive and powerful) find it extreamly distasteful simply to be in the presence of Vampires, their natural instinct is to rip the lesser( in their view) predator apart.

Whenever I get sick I tend to just let it blow over and act like a man. Nothing cures my cold faster than putting in a couple of fence posts in the rain.

By cure I mean replacing what I have with something else. No more cold, but I did manage to get hypothermia.

C'mon Warork! We're counting on you!

Anyway, based on the Pureblood thing...

... there is always the blood test...

... simply slash your arm, let the blood run freely, take a sniff, and if it smells a little funny and pure, BAM!

Congragulations, you now know your a Pureblood...

I think that more depends on the experience of the wolf who's testing it...To my knowledge, Jarin is the only wolf here to test in that way, Harlow, not being experienced in that sort of thing and being not nearly as old as Jarin...probably wouldn't be able to discern...

Yeah, but I have already planned Atlas grabbing a knife, holding it high in the air causing everybody to go into a panic, before slashing his arm and holding it out Natasha...

"Here, darling, have a sniff!"

But I thought it worked with any wolf, as long as they could tell the difference...

When it comes to these technical questions I think its best to be considered on a case by case basis...I considered Harlow's case and made a conclusion based on it...Besides, I'm sure the truth will be revealed when the time comes...

I think that in order to test for pure-bloodity one has to put their blood into a petri dish and then apply a heated piece of metal to it. If the blood sizzles then you're not a pureblood, if the blood jumps in reaction then you are a pureblood.

See Natasha and Erzuli could take turns ( not like that...well...maybe not like that) with dealing with Atlas....by the time they finished he'd just be a quivering pile of mutilated wolf with a sheep's head grafted to his butt and two party whistles jammed up his nose.

Considering Erzuli's fondness for experiments...poor Atlas could end up with a dozen noses...each with party whistles jammed into them mind you...Natasha and Erzuli would the take turns bashing him over the head ( wherever that may be) with a 3 foot salami so that he tweets out the entire score of West side story.

I don't have a target on his, or any of your character's heads Kais. The basis of the joke for me, was Erzuli's severe aversion to her 'duty' to make the Great Wolf, not Atlas... plus her extensive tendancy to experiment in silly, Frankenstein-like ways. I have no current plans to kill, maim or otherwise harm him. (Erzuli doesn't even know he exsists.)

@Shas...I dunno Shas...your characters are always just easy to laugh at...just like whenever something bad happens to Andy the joke is "It can't get any worse for him...wait...sure it can!"

Just be glad you have a part in making us all smile, we're just fooling with ya...laugh at it as you would one of Halo's silly posts...don't take it so personally...

Besides...if Natasha wanted to kill or maim Atlas, Harlow would have already done so...

Why the Atlas hate?

I think Natasha would understand what he had to do to survive, that he has had no tutoring whatsoever in Lycan culture, and is still trying to fething understand his past...

... and also I seriously think you guys should stop being so harsh to every character I fething create...

... I mean, for crying out loud, hes done hardly anything yet!

I mean, I never make fun of anbody elses characters...

If you mean IC, your PC IS the cause of my PC's friends deaths. so he's a bit miffed. it seems trouble follows you.

... anyway, sorry for the outburst, it just really pissed me off and I felt like raging...

... but it does seriously akinda piss me off, I mean have you seen how many posts you've done on that subject?

And can somebody post in response please...?

@Inptus...

... Oh yeah, just wanna say any gak on how Atlas is the cause of some of your PC's deaths is complete crap...

@ Kais....Relax man, no need to get bent out of shape over a bit of ribbing...every one here has taken the piss with everyone else at some time or the other ( how many times have folks called Natasha a deranged slut...lots)...no one character is above reproach...

And, as for Atlas being responsible for any characters getting killed....well...If they'd not been searching for him and the traitors...they'd still be alive, so yeah...partial responsibility.
If a group of cops are searching for perpetraors/criminals....and some of those cops are killed during that search...even if it's not neccisarily by those they were searching for...those they were searching for are still likely to be held responsible....simply how it goes.

Awesome...

Y'know these Hand fanatic jokers are a real group of one trick ponies...always with the purging...Kraub's a real workaholic, guy should get a hobby...

like collecting colorfully painted miniatures...

Anyway...can't help but have mixed feelings about that statement...will be fun to read but at the same time I've grown quite fond of my own characters...

... Exactly..

Pontious: ( Gasping and dying): " You've proved to be a worthy opponent Bruss...more than any other...My one mistake was in underestimating you.." ( Gurgle , cough , die)
Andy ( Cradling Wendy to him) : " At long last my love...we are free of that fiend...perhaps now...we can know peace" ( steps to building edge to watch rising sun)..." Though we've been through the fires of brutality...I feel that a new day dawns for us."
Wendy: " Andy...be careful...there's blood all over that ledge"
Andy: " Yes...blood...we've waded through an ocean of it...and have come through to peaceful shores...shores on which we can build a new life...a new love.."
Wendy : " No..Really...watch your step it looks slick right...OH MY GOD ANDY!!!"
Andy: ( Plumeting over the ledge, block of C4 in hand)..." AAAAAAhhHHHGHHH!!!...THUD!!.....( groan)...BOOM!!"

the end...

There's a small little book in the game called "Werewolf Physicalities" and that says that a werewolf's heart grows before the skeletal structure which is why some people afflicted with the disease complain about it...

But guess what else, they have a group of werewolf hunters in the game too. They're called the Silver Hand. I think its safe to say that any group with "Hand" in the name is aimed at killing werewolves now.

Sorry, needed time to think things over, draw maps, storyboard, and make the character interaction trees. Like I did with BM II.

feth that takes a long time.

Alright, for those who aren't in the know, Fitzz will certainly not be around for awhile. Now I don't know much about this game, but it's reputation speaks for itself.

I may be taking liberties, but if you all want this fine wagon to keep on rolling, then a temporary GM might be in order, until Fitzz has the time and mind to dedicate to this.

Personally I don't think a substitute GM is going to help us here...we're missing some major players due to RL anyway...might as well do what Fitzz suggested and let this one rest until at least after Christmas, its not going anywhere until conditions are better unfortunately...

In regards to the actual RP, I'm afraid there's not much we can do at the moment other than wait. Darko, you appear to be in some kind of contact with FITZZ, perhaps you could ask him what he would like us to do in regards to a possible temp GM, if we should do anything of that sort at all.

Now, if you're still craving horror, I've opened up a planning thread for my own horror RP 'Solipsism' in the Basement. I hope to launch Saturday, and would be pleased if you all gave it a look.

... oh yeah, hey Darko...

Post by: halonachos

Most of the people who have stayed play a god role. Mordo seems to be back which is a good thing because part of the story can be continued that way. Unfortunately the issue comes down to events in the game. I was planning on sending my group to the Network portal and try to shut that down and I think Fitzz was trying to do some things there with Natasha.

Silly and the rest of the guys in the Crooked World haven't been doing too much so that right there is a dead spot until we can get some more active players in there to speak for them and temporarily hijack their characters.

I think that we can use this bit of downtime for dialogue, preparation if we get a temp GM in, or to let some others catch up to where we are. I think Suzie is a few months behind the rest of us storywise for example.

If we do have someone temp as GM then I would say, and I shudder when I do, that Mordo would be the most capable. Not only can he weave a fine tale, but he has proven time and time again that he is good at screwing people over... that and he and Fitzz seem to have cooperated a lot on certain ideas during the RP.

But it all depends on everything in RL. It sounds like Fitzz is being dragged over coals right now in RL and the only thing that a lot of us can do is just hope for the best for him and his family.

The Blood Moon III Discussion Thread... @ 2011/12/02 23:05:50

Post by: Mordoskul

Why, thank you Nachos. Whilst I am honored to have myself nominated as a temp, I feel we should not act until we get some kind of word from FITZZ. I would rather he not return to find the story going in a direction he did not expect. However, I could run the game for a bit, focussing on a side-plot rather than the main one, but only if you the players decide unanimously upon it.

The Blood Moon III Discussion Thread... @ 2011/12/02 23:20:36

Post by: halonachos

Exactly, that's why I said "if". Fitzz has been the type of GM who actually runs the game so that's why its such a punch to the RP's gut during his absence. Without Fitzz it wouldn't feel like Blood Moon so I think that the major plot shouldn't be touched in his absence and I agree with you full heartedly on that. However you currently have one of my NPCs hostage...

Post by: Chowderhead

I can do a few RP's without FITZZ. He knows when to start my Event, so I'll leave it off there.

The issue, however, is that I have Silly's two characters and have no idea what t do with them. I can do them, but possibly you can as well, Halo. You did Vegas 2nd best, after Silly of course.

The Blood Moon III Discussion Thread... @ 2011/12/03 20:46:40

Post by: halonachos

I did Vegas well, but not too sure about Crooked Vegas although she seems to be a little bit similar to Vegas. I am also hesitant seeing as though I kind of got the original Vegas killed by accident.

I'm mostly for waiting unless we can do some mostly fluff RPs. If Fitzz does come back I don't want him to have to do too much pick up and feel like he's been kicked out of the RP. Its something personal, this RP is his baby and if we decide to continue on then its like we're kidnapping it.

My work just picked up, working 30 hours this week on top of 14 hours of school credits. Doesn't help that my shifts are 4pm-12am(get home at about 12:30am) and I have to go to class at 8am, follow that with waking up and showering and a 30minute commute to school... so I get up at 6am and I am currently battling a chest cold. That being said I will try to get with Mordo on doing a little side story involving my rabble of free ghouls and Claudia.

That being said, I have not PM'ed Mordo anything about this, but plan to eventually before the week is over.

What part doesn't surprise you?

In other news I just found out today that I am in the clear because I presented enough evidence to disprove what he was accusing me of. He had said that I was trying to circumvent the attendance policy because my remote for class(we use a little IR clicker to show attendance) showed that I was there but at the end he collected signatures on paper and mine was missing. I told him that what most likely happened(couldn't remember because this happened Nov. 2 according to him) is that I got there late and left early because I had a test for the class's lab right after. His own proof showed that I had 1 point in the beggining, 12 in the middle, and 0 at the end and I brought in bank statements showing that I made a purchase at one of the food places on campus that day. In the end I was cleared of all charges, like a boss. I mean seriously, I have a 90 in the class, I don't need to cheat for attendance points that don't mean a thing.

Anywho, does anybody want to put up a vote to see if we should try a side story to keep the story relatively new in our heads?

That's what I'm thinking, a little expansion that won't mean too much to the actual story. Maybe pick a time and do a big flashback, vampires of course can be there if they are that old, same with wolves, hunters would pick ancestors and so would any wolf or vamp too young to have been around.

I can see that...It would involve a lot of focusing on not advancing the timeline a lot, and would probably involve exploring what the characters do when they aren't killing each other...

But If we're looking for flashbacks then I can do that seeing as they make up 60% of my posts anyway...

Trench warfare with werewolves and vampires sounds fun, let's see who's interested and then see if we want to make a different thread or keep it in the same. If we do keep it in the same thread we need to label each one as being part of a different story.

Post by: Morathi's Darkest Sin

Simple, you fudge it.. either have almost unbelievable moments of fate/luck to prevent their demise or keep an eye on how far you push them on the mortality stakes. Also don't forget Vampires can take serious wounds, and go into the torpor like state we have nabbed (referenced) as used in WoD, to recooperate over time. Werewolves could drag themselves off, for healing as well, so serious wounds could occur, give more disharmony between certain individuals with no actual threat to the main game.

Folks could also make up additional temp npc's, that if they die they go with no issues, or if they survive are someone for FITZZ or the player to reference back in the modern nights later on.

Hunters are the odd ones out as they aren't old enough to be there, but Grandfathers, Uncles, distant relatives, or totally different characters just for fun and potential atagonists for the modern nights could happily take their place.

We've already had characters with insane amounts of luck so that won't really be a surprise.

Easy, we remain quite careful and don't put our characters into any situation where they die...that means if something comes up where PCs are in conflict (preferably not though) we'll just have to work it out...

This also works for me because I've already written a piece in BMII about Harlow being in WWI...I have unwittingly covered all my bases with all of these background posts I've done...

I think that events will have some sort of plot armor involved, just because we know that a character has to make it through doesn't mean the character is going to make it through without being hurt a bit. It also doesn't mean the RP can't be fun if we know that Harlow has to survive any and all encounters for example, we can still make memorable RPs.

I think that this should all be for fun and not continue the story so events should be lower key than the actual RP. That way the characters who are already in the RP will survive and have their backgrounds fleshed out while we avoid making drastic changes to the actual RP.

Lets not forget that if we do this and characters get hurt...

Its all Chowder's fault since he started the war...

Suppose I'm in...

... could always use Carl, he would be alive at that time...

... of course, I could always have Atlas' father (the Crooked World, wolf king, well, presently, before he died), and have him as a char, although I will have to have some Crooked World fluff for it, so I stay in check...

... which do you think sounds better?

I think that we're going to try to stay in only one realm of existance, not too sure though.

I propose the name to be Blood Moon: Interlude or Blood Moon: A Romantic Comedy with Trench Warfare, Vampires, and Werewolves.

The first one, as I think the crooked world is really a plot device for BMIII...

Okay, another question...what year will this be set in?

My vote is 1917...because that's the year when a lot of the worst, gritty, bad fighting happened...

plus it was the date that I chose for one of my background stories so if we could stick to that, that would be great...

1917 is doable, they had tanks by then.

Update: Two more finals, one I need to study for on Thursday and the other is an Art History one that I have a 101 in with no notes taken this semester. So After 5pm on thursday I'm good to go.

Who's running this? Is it to be I? I'm up for both playing and GMing.

No, we need players to survive.

Just kidding, I thought that it was going to be you, playing and GMing that is. Shouldn't be too time consuming on you as a GM hopefully.

Been ready for a while...this is all just to pass time until the status quo is restored anyway right?

To keep the status quo, and to keep us in RPing shape. This is not a replacement for Blood Moon, keeping the story and characters alive for awhile and having fun.

Awesome...

question though, if we're using the same character as here, do we still need to post a character sheet?

I would prefer if you did, detailing what you're doing during the Great War.
