This work inspires me to tackle my projects. Blogs are good for motivation (sometimes they remind me of how much work I have to do too).

I take inspiration from this...

It is NOT my army... I repeat... It is NOT my army

It is a Games Workshop rendition of a FULL Ultramarine chapter

check out these two pics posted in 2002 that state they were built "a few years ago"

It is NOT my army... I repeat... It is NOT my army

yet!

Okay, I'm floored. Six Baneblades? That's a lot of hardware. Vance Stubbs would be damn proud. And even though I'm not too sweet on Games Workshop tanks, not after my stint with scale modeling, I must respect that amount of firepower.

Troy says it’s a 10 step painting process…

Step 1 - undercoat with black

Step 2 - paint armour with ultramarine blue then wash with asurmen blue

Step 3 - paint all gold in a 50/50 mix of shining gold and bestial brown

Step 4 - paint joins, grills, tubes, bionics and chains in boltgun metal then wash with badab black

Step 5 - paint capes with 50/50 mix of bestial brown and mechrite red then wash with baal red

Step 6 - paint purity seals, scope glass and crystals in mechrite red, paint books in beastial brown, paint straps in snakebite leather

Step 7 - paint ropes and scripts in astronomican grey then wash scripts in devlan mud

Step 8 - paint swords and highlight chains with chainmail

Step 9 - with 75/25 mix of shining gold and bestial brown, highlight gold in shining gold

step10 - highlight blues in ultramarine blue, highlight capes in mechrite red, highlight purity seals in blood red, highlight crystals and scope lenses in blood red, highlight ropes in skull white.

I posted this on GW fb page and sent it as an email to GW
I dont care about the price rises or changes to resin...
I do care about dictators.... so many have been assassinated

To Games Workshop... Hi from Australia
To whom it may concern:
Please explain how you can justify enacting a busness accumen that allows a supplier to dictate to retailers who they can and cannot sell to.
It is criminal to hear that northern hemisphere retailers cannot sell your products to southern hemisphere customers.
I have over 100,000 points of current 40K Apocalypse GW products, and I am not finnished buying yet. I have bought from 5 GW stores in 3 States in Australia, from GW direct sales, from 3 local hobby stores, and from 2 online stores (one in Australia and one in UK)... and I have purchased from Forgeworld as well.
I have been collecting since 1987 and also have over 50,000 points of GW Epic products... HOW DARE YOU tell me who I can and cannot buy from... HOW DARE YOU dictate to anyone... you sell to retailers... end of the decision making.
If you dont like who buys your product.... GET OUT OF THE BUSINESS.
WE buy your products... WE keep you in business... WE give you profits... and WE can take it all away from you.
(Lord Castellan Mik) Brisbane Australia

I love the world of Warhammer 40K, why would I want to give it up. I detest business and organisations that manipulate others...
GW dictated to Maelstrom Games (UK) that the GW shops in the southern hemisphere are not making enough money because the customers are buying from Maelstrom.... so, we are going to destroy some of your business so we can get some of that money back

I've been with GW since 1987, my first White Dwarf was number 124... I've known that their management team are arrogant pond slime for a very long time, and I've known that their business decision making skill is childish as thy proove it every year.

I dont complain needlessly, I dont theaten to move onto another system... I dont care if they kill themselves in the hobby world... but dictating to one business that they cant do business is unethical, criminal, anti social, idiotic, and mindless

I think i've paid my fair share in dollars to GW to state my case... I still will not stop, only move even slower

Mik

i'm in absolute agreement. gw are toilet water drinking smeg heads with no brain cells between them, and to think i have given these vacuous morons a lot of money over the years just hurts. i cannot abide stupid, useless people, and gw are the most useless.
i had planned on buying a lot of the formations boxed sets when they were released, but alas, by the time i had the money for them, the week of release was over as it seems to be for most of gws few good ideas, even though the prices are ridiculously high.
i started collecting 20 years ago, and i've had many issues with gw, some still unresolved, and i can see them going under unless they grow up and listen to us, the customers, instead of their shareholders.
end of line...

This is absolutely insane, in the best way possible. I'd love to know how many glue tubes you've gone through, and how much you think you've spent on the force and then all the paints? Don't think me rude for asking though

Hi all

Sorry for the obvious threadomancy, but, I still live and I am still collecting... and still moving slowly, but steadily

lots of purchases since we last spoke

Stand alone games...
Assassinorum: Execution Force for the assassins
Space Hulk for the marines and genestealers
Deathwatch: Overkill for the Deathwatch team initially
Kill Team for the terrain... killzones and lots of extras

Primaris...
What can I say, over 200 marines plus 10 characters and 4 Redemptor dreds...started with 4 sets of Dark Imperium then eBay

Because of a lot of genestealers... I have gone into Genestealer Cult mainly for Kill Team and Space Hulk games Apocalypse style

Photos soon

Life Update…. for those that are interested

4 years ago I was diagnosed with degenerative osteo arthritis to most of my joints (fingers, toes, knees, elbow, shoulder, and lower back)

Over a period of 2 years I had a range of symptoms that made standing, sitting, walking, and laying, difficult and painful to a point that I had to retire from the workforce and am now on a disability pension

I could access my superannuation but it was not enough to stay where I was... so we bought a block out west (350km) and a small kit home and hunkered down with a small solar system but no internet

Then the gak started... my wife was diagnosed with Parkinson's… she is my carer, so thing went down hill rapidly

We couldnt physically build the kit home and no friends were able to help and no money to pay someone

i know some will say why buy all that stuff then... well, primarilly it was for my sanity and also they were 30-40% discounted

The biggest problem was that all our possessions are packed into a container, including all my wargame collections... except Primaris and Kill Team...i haven't seen it for 3 years now

To top it off, my younger brother passed away 12 mths ago from the same cancer that got our dad

and just for fun, coz we can't build the kit home (which is up for sale) we live in the end of a 40ft container... luxury camping... we have ALL the mod cons

thanks fo listening

Mik

Sorry again for the obvious threadomancy, but, again, I still live and I am still collecting... and still moving slowly, but steadily.

Still building the extras from Dark Imperium.

Well, Shadowspear came... I swapped halves again and ended up with 4 sets... plus multipart Infiltrators and Eliminators.

Still building the extras from Shadowspear.

Now I'm waiting for Indomitus ... hopefully end up with 4 sets, then wait a bit longer for multipart Bladeguard Vets.

He's back! Nice to hear from you again Mik and good to see that the ludicruous pruchases are still going on! I've been away from the hobby for about the same time as from your last post, but funnily enough I was thinking about your collection about a week ago. Sorry to hear that things have been a bit rough for you of late. Best wishes, and hoping that things become more positive.
