Decided to give one of Khurasan's 15mm robot gunships a shot.
I magnetized the nacelles, weapon, and put it on a gimbal so I can change the attack angle. It was a fun little model.
100% AB

Hey, I finally opened a blog.
Find it here.

http://thirdfatecreations.blogspot.com/

The main reason for this decision is I keep working on other projects that arent quite right for dakka or some of the other forums. Ill still keep posting here and on other forums but this way there will be at least one coherent blog. Check it out sometime! happy painting!

Just finished some battlesuits. A lizard TAG and a couple Zandris IV battlesuits.

These are some nice suits. The TAG was one of my first "prizes" for a painting competition many years ago. Just finally felt I could handle an airbrush well enough to do it justice.

There is so much to love about that land raider... but in particular, I'd like to comment on how you did the grilled lights in front. I've struggled with how to paint those recently myself and your solution is exquisite.

It is about 2-3"" tall a little taller than a TAG or tau battlesuit it could stand on a base that is about 6" diameter. Macro settings are great I like making something like this look really big and ominous =)

 inmygravenimage wrote:

There is a 1/8" rod going from the cannon to the buzzard beak that is permanent. The cannon has a brass tube guided steel rod and magnet to locate and lock (detatchably) the barrel to the cannon body. The cannon body has another brass sleave and magnet that mates to a steel rod (1/8") and another strong magent protruding from the elbow (and is detatchable). The upper arm is permanently pinned into the torso at the shoulder. The torso has a 1/2" diameter 1/2" thick ND magnet as does the hip section, and has a brass tube to accept the steel rod from the hips section. Thus everything locates with a steel rod in brass tube, then is held in place and orientation mostly by the largest magnets I could reasonably fit in there. The legs are permanently glued to the base and to the hips as a solid triangle for strength. the head is just magnetized on as are the missile swarm. THe other arm has a similar steel/brass/magnet setup for the upper arm and for the cannon barrel.

A model from Puppetswar, I decided to do a slightly more "traditional" and simple 40k theme and wanted to play with red. So we have a blood raven thunder crow fighter.
http://puppetswar.eu/

I changed the main guns from miniguns to dual auto cannons as I thought it looked meaner as a tank buster. I like the interchangability of their models' weapons.

Just finished some space marine legio custodes for a comission. I rather like the style of these.
He wanted a slightly restyled theme in the red and gold colors that are customary for these guys so I had some fun playing with marbling and metal flakes for angle dependent viewing effects. at sheer incidence it looks gold and red but at close to normal incidence it gains depth and gets black marbling.
