OOC: What? There is no strange alien ship thing (apart from the one mentioned earlier) - link please? AFAICR, we've had more than 1 page of nid killing.

What's so strange about it? It's a collaborative fiction piece and goes where it wills. If you don't like where it's going, then either send your marines to do something on their own, or gently prod the action back towards the way you want it in a plausable manner. You're part of this RP as much as anyone else, and If you want something to happen, make it happen (as long as it doesn't mess the RP up for everyone else.) You could even write the 'greeting party' mentioned by Klawz earlier. Remember also that Klawz will probably ask you to remove your post if it's too OTT, that or people will just ignore it and continue as if it hasn't happened.

@ Klawz - Where abouts are these 'unknown spaceships', how many are there, and, if it isn't too much to ask, what race are they?

[OOC] Pushy Pushy Shas....I'll get to your marines in my next post...in like 15 minutes. ^.^

Feeling guilt for wanting to leave the planet so swiftly and leave the people of this planet to die, Nikev shamefully ran into the thunderhawk along with the Nucians following him.

As they took his seats Karjewski sat beside him and seeing how he look a little shameful asked "Is something the matter Nikev?"

"Yes, as a matter of fact there is" Nikev replied " I was so eager to get us off this rock, that I did not even consider, We'd be leaving this planet and all of the Emperor's children along with it. I let my hate for the Imperium cloud my mind with the fact that The Emperor's Children still need protection."

"It is okay" She said " we all just want to get off this rock."

"But I let that overcome the fact that the servants of the Emperor are still good people."

"I think it would be wise not to talk about this anymore, less we draw attention to ourselves." Karjewski staring at a marine in the corner who was motionlessly staring right at her and Nikev.

[{OOC} Okay so I feel like I should say something in case anyone wonders why I just smack talked the Imperium a little. So if you read what I typed about my planets history than you'll know that in a time of doom, the Imperium left Nucia to die. Therefore Nucia still pretends to serve the Imperium, lest they cause a war and cause Nucia to be destroyed. SO even though technically my Character isn't an actual commissar, seeing as how I'm thought dead by the imperium. I am still called a commissar by the Guard I serve with to keep our secret hidden. And since troopers can't look up who is a commissar and who isn't while in the middle of a fight, I keep the standard commissriat outfit so I fit the bill ^.^ Hope that clarified it if anyone was like "WTF!"

OOC: You realise you're leaving without that scout you gave me? The one you said you wanted back?

Or are you just setting something up, and not actually leaving? As the only way you could leave at this point is via the 3 Imperial Battlecruisers in space. Who likely have access to lots of records, being that they are commisioned by the Imperium and all that...

[OOC] Well....as I've stated...and the whole reason for me and Vera's marines heading south is there is a Hidden Modified Valkaryie that I was supposed to use to get the Frak off the planet with. But now my departure is no pushed back, seeing as how Nikev now feels guilty for being so quick to want to leave the planet, and leave everyone and thing to die.

Plus I wasn't planning on getting out of here by any Imperial Cruiser. My guys fly with the Eldar who are forced to stay FAR AWAY due to the Shadow of the Warp.

"I AM DESTRUCTION INCARNATE!" Leroy Roared as he turned his bolter unto more leaping gaunts. As his aim steadied and he pulled the trigger, he heard the unfortunate click that signaled an empty clip. A sound only someone like Leroy would enjoy. Being out of ammo he threw his bolter with such force it outright killed the gaunt trying to kill him.

"Brother LOOK!" The fellow marine shouted pointing to a most monstrous figure charging toward them at unimaginable speeds.

"BRING IT XENOS FILTH!" Leroy shouted as his brother ran alongside him to fight the beast side by side.

As the Creature got ever closer, it began to roar a roar that would make most men flee.

As the Creature was close upon them and Leroy and his brother prepared for battle, a whining sound mixed with the crack of las-guns and screeches was becoming ever louder. Looking up Leroy spotted the source, it was a Valkyrie being ravaged by gargoyles. Snapping back into the threat at hand Leroy revved his Chainsword, only to be greeted with a buck as the chain snapped and hung loosely from the bulk of the weapon.

"DAMNED INFERNAL DEVICE!" Leroy shouted throwing his weapon down clearly ignoring the monster getting ever closer"I"LL FIGHT YOU WITH MY HANDS BEAST!"

As the Creature was upon them, It Stopped mere meters from the Marines. IT quickly shifted its bulk and began to race in the opposite direction toward the capitol.

"GET BACK HERE!" Leroy shouted picking up a gaunts dead body and throwing it at the retreating beast.

Defeated, Leroy and his brother marine decided it was best to make their way to Naruke South, Maybe they could meet up with their comrades before they left.

The Thunderhawk sped through the skies, its engines blazing with heat. It was moving at speeds most humans usually never reach and get to live to tell of it. +++We're coming up on the capitol+++ came the sound of the pilots' voice. There was a thick cloud of black smode drifting up from south-western part of the city, it looked like that was the place of the breach. Around the outside of it, the plantlife had grown uncontrollably; Arkus could even see the blackened patches where flamer teams had tried and failed to keep the plants at bay. He even once saw some sort of giant Venus Fly Trap munching on what looked like the remains of an Imperial patrol. A massive pylon, torn in half with its shattered top section lay below it. "Damn." he thought. +++Their communications tower has be-+++ "been destroyed. When did you notice that?" Arkus retorted. They circled round for another pass, trying to find a suitable landing area, when a trio of Harpies spotted them. A marine called, "hang on!" as impacts jostled the ancient vehicle. "Pilot! We do not have time to fight these beasts! Get us down there!" Arkus ordered. The machine swerved around and...
... one of the Tyranids smashed into the front of it - specifically the cockpit. The Thunderhawk swerved out of control, flying wildy downwards. It spun into the side of a civilian building, crashing strait through to the other side. It toppled over when it fell out and spun in motion as it headed for the cold, hard ground. Then a miracle happened. There seemed to be a warm glow coming from.... well, everywhere! Suddenly the craft veered painfully upwards, barely missing the ground. The engines then cut dead, and it fell the 10 metres or so to the ground with a groundshattering thump.

Opening his eyes, Nikev knew not where he was. Then like a flash flood of water, Everything began to rush back into his mind. He remembered Jansen, Vera, Leroy, the Tyrannid attack, The Mawloc, the Thunderhawk, Loud Sirens, then a massive crash.

Nikev sit in his chair unable to move, hear, or see clearly. Am I dead? He wondered to himself. Sitting there staring at the red warning lights flashing, Nikev wondered how much longer before he went to sit by the Emperor's side. Suddenly, a figure blocked the light he was look at and began shaking him. His hearing began to return ans he was able to hear "-ou! Your not dead yet!". He recognized the voice as Karjewski. As she shook him he could feel himself be able to slowly move again. As his speech returned " Did you really think this little crash could kill me?" he asked. Smiling from relief she thrusted her arms around him and squeezed. "I think we'd better go" Nikev strained to say " before this ship blows, or the Tyrannids come."

"Right" She replied "I'll go check on the others." turning to make sure everyone else was ok.

As Nikev unbuckled himself from his seat Bantine stumbled up to help him. "Sir! Two of our own are dead, Private Mani and Private Kax, they were killed by the crash. The jolt snapped both of their necks, Death was instantaneous."

"DAMNIT!" Nikev shouted as he stumbled up from his chair. "What of the Marines? Did they make it?"

"Yes sir, they left hear a few moments ago to secure the perimeter. It is best if we leave as soon as possible. The men are ready to leave as soon as you are."

"DAMNED RIGHT I'M READY " Nikev shouted getting to his feet and moving to the hatch "Let us go! We've got VENGANCE to Claim!"

No, and No.
The ships are Tau. They have agreed to help the Imperium, in exchange for trading rights with Naruke II.

@Nikev: make it into an article first, as then we can all edit for spelling/grammar etc. Also, exactly how many people do you have? I've always assumed there was about two squads of IG, but your posts make it sound like there's a lot less. Also, I've had a look at my timeline, and, according to it, you arrive on planet 10 years before the RP started. I'm a bit stuck for ideas at the minute, so could you have a go at thinking of a reason you spent 10 years on the planet? (Latest you could have arrived by is 6 years before btw)

I was going to post my next RP bit, but it's getting late so I'll do it tommorow. Until then no-one can enter or leave Naruke South, in case anyone was considering it. (Sorry Nikev, the time bubble messed up again, and you'll get frazzled if you try to go through.) The Tech-priest of Omega Company is working on it however, and will have disabled it after my next IC post.

@Dastardly Dave - I was Searching for Isha's Tear. although I had to leave the planet immediately because of some Imperial Event that happened on the planet that brought much attention that I could not let myself attain. Then, a few years later, Nikev arrived back on planet with only a small portion of what he had when he came the first time. And now we are stuck fighting Nids and not looking for the Tear.

It probably seems like a lot less because I don't mention everyone I had with me. So the run down is I came with
20 + me = 21
I have 4 squads of 5
1 squad led by me.
the characters are(just so you know)
Adjutant Bantine
Private Salmoq- you killed him
Private Urtow
Heavy Weapons Pryne
Demolisitionist Urtok - You killed him and called him a private No worries though. I'll make Private Urtow a demo spec ^.^
Heavy Weapon Loader Arnel
Vocx-caster Zyen
Scout Narko - Still being a bad-ass with you
Private Saneal - Still alive with you
Sergant Karish - Still alive with you
Medic Karjewski
Private Sanlar - He lost his leg to the Mawloc and now is considered a casualty
Sergent Ackole
Private Kex - Killed from crash
Private Mani - Killed from crash

I don't have the rest of the names as I make them up as they need to be introduced and when they die.

SO yea...I really don't have that many men although I'll be commanding larger groups with the attempt to reestablish control over the broken Capital Defenders!

Jansen ducked under the flap that served as an entrance to the compound he and his squad had first arrived in. The remains of the bodies had been cleared away and a stepladder ascended to the circular hatch that connected the secret Eldar sactuary to the rest of the city. A dull glow was coming from the opening.

As he entered the circular room, the techpriest who was examining the runes on the floor looked up and nodded in greeting. Jansen was relieved to note that he was only slightly machine enhanced, with a few wires poking out from under his robes, and a single servo arm protruding from his back. A mechanium Power Axe lay on the floor nearby. As Jansen moved over to the runes on the floor, he stood up.

"Ah, another person to help me with this puzzle. It is intriuging, to say the very least." he said. Even his voice sounded relatively normal.

"I'm afraid I don't know what it is Techpriest, although I'd be happy to help" replied Jansen. Looking at the intricate web of runes on the floor however, he doubted he would be much use. All it appeared to be was a mass of eldar Runes and symbols that had been mixed in a blender then poured into a circular depression in the floor.

"Ah, well then, what it is... yes, according to my scans, it is a psyco conductive hyper matrix subtended within a progressive sigil loop. It is surrounded by a field of flux distortions and a twofold magnotranscopic debilitator."

"...and that means what, exactly?" replied Jansen, his jaw almost hitting the floor.

"bascically, it is a control unit for the field that surrounds the city. We... ah, need to deactivate it in order to send and recieve vox signals."

"but why not just leave the city? Surely once we are out we can start broadcasting again?"

"ah, thats the problem you see... the Greater Daemon caused the dampeners on the resonance bubble to catastrophically deviate, which meant the subatomic fluctuations of the time field overheated and became unstable."

"right... what??"

"It fethed up. Fortunately most of our men were inside at that point."

"Much better. What do we do with this 'puzzle' then?"

"Well, presumably we need to... er, align the pieces of the puzzle in the, ah, correct way. That should deativate the forcefield around the city."

"Do we know the correct way?"

"No."

"Great! I don't suppose there's an instruction manual either..." sighed Jansen, as he walked over to the single, circular window. He looked out over Naruke south. The green haze that had been there last time nowhere in sight. The central tower of the city could be seen clearly - the huge, gothic S in full view. A light came on in Jansen's brain.

"Techpriest, whats the Eldar Symbol for S?" he asked, as he turned towards the puzzle, scrutinising it intensly.

"That one there... ah!" the Techpriest replied, pointing towards the central symbol of the circle with his Servo arm.

Jansen looked at the city, then back at the puzzle. From what he could see of the city, it was arranged in radiating circles around the central spire - much like the puzzle on the floor. He walked over to the puzzle and twisted the outer ring around so that the symbol for the building they were in was in the right place. Then, after finding the Eldar Symbol for other buildings in the City, the puzzle gradually twisted into place. At that, there was a tinkle, as if a glass had broken above them, and the bubble melted out of existance.

A voice came in over the Vox:

+This is Captain Varton of Omega company broadcasting to all units in Naruke South - Pack your things up. We move out to reinforce delta company in 1 hour. For Cadia!+

Afi pushed his crew to the limits.
He knew what he heard.
Re-enforcements were coming And Afi Drazznik would be there to clear a landing zone for them.
He shouldn't know but long time spent hacking voxes to get local radio meant he knew.

He had re-armed and was rolling, alone, towards the nearest drop site.
Which was crawling with Tyranids.

Death did not matter to Afi. He still felt guilty from surviving his last war. The only member of his company to do so. If was his end, then so be it. It shall be a glourious end.

The tank rumbled over the plains, empty except for charred corpes pilled as high as a leman russ.

His target was in sight. Those co-ordinates better be right he thought.

Tyranids started to swarm towards him, screehing as they came. With a mighty blast, the helhammer's main cannon spoke its retort.
With that, the tyranid horde's attention was firmly on the Super-heavy tank.

"Aim the Lascannons and the Demolisher at the lager beasts, they're the ones who can do the damage" Afi yelled down the hatch at the frantic crew.
All at the same time they all pulled out a Master-crafted Solarian Cigar, Afi gift to the crew. They nodded to each other and lit them.
Afi, cigar chomped between clenched jaws, started to rain his insults upon the faul xenos.

The bodies of the masses of gaunts clogged up the battlefield. Canifexes with great chunks torn out of them lied still, unerveing even in death. But still the swarm lived. And still the swarm tried to tackle the Hellhammer.
A Tyrant emerged from the chittering horde, roared his defiance and advanced, blind guard advancing in its wake. The hellhammer bellowed its answer. The Tyrant disappeared completely.
For a momment the horde fell back, then re-doubled its efforts.

"Tervigon- Its sh---ing out gaunts at a huge rate!! 100 metres!!" Afi told the crew in the smoky atmoshere of the interior.
"FIRE!" Afi yelled pointing his chainsword at the foe. The main cannon roared its approval.
But the skies fell down in front of the tervigon. A living sky of gargoyles took the impact of the shot.
Spores rained around the tank bringing the 'nids much needed re-inforcements.

Several explosions rocked the sky.

"Left sponsons fully out of ammo sir!"
Afi felt the end was near. Just a little more he thought. Clear out a little more, make this that just a bit easier for the incoming re-enforcements.

The tank rumbled upon the horde, moving towards the tervigon. The tracks grinded over the still moving gaunts. The tracks rocked under the pressure.
A lone Carnifex advanced through the horde on the left.
The tanks protesting tracks finnaly gave up, chocked upon masses of Tyranid bodies.
The Canifex roared and charged the striken tank, Its guns still blazing all around itself, turret keeping the left flank.
The living tide swarmed upon the tank from all directions.
"OH FETH!!" yelled Afi as numberless gaunts came within the sweeps of his sword. He drew his las-pistol and began to pour shots into the enroaching gaunts.
That and the chainsword was not enough.

The carnifex's crab like claws scraped and tore at the outer armour of the hellhammer.

The gaunts, biting, slashing, spitting overwhelmed Afi. His cries and attacks becoming more feeble.

Brick pulled the veteran of many tank wars down the hatch fighting off the gaunts by taking Afi's chainsword off him. He slamed the hatch down on top of many scratching limbs. The chainsword hacking those off that could possible lift it.

Afi's wounds were many. Great gashes covered his face and blood streamed from several deep ccuts on his torso. His breathing was slow and laboured. "Thank you" he managed to say.

Valkeries newly in the atmosphere started to eradicate the clouds of gargolyes.

The carnifex managed to rip of some of thee side armour of the Hellhammer, it pushed its head inside and screamed at them.

Brick had to shout at Afi to ensure that he was heard but even then he wasn't sure.
Afi nodded to him, giving his approval, he smiled and using his better arm lit one last Lho-stick.
Brick hit the button just as the carnifex fully opened the tank.

The guard had started to drop on the flanks of the 'Nid force,. The resistance was unexpectidly light, the swarms attention seemed to be elsewhere.

The hellhammer had gaunts hacking at vision slit trying to get in. One side had a carnifex struging to get its bulk within striking
distance of the crew. The Helhammer's guns went silent.

And then it went nuclear.

Nikev Jumped down out of the Hatch of the Crashed ship and began looking for the marines. Nowhere to be found Nikev assumed they went to accomplish some task and set out with his Nucians to find some Imperials. Following the sounds of Gunfire and screaming, the Nucians came across a group of stranded Imperials who were desperately trying to fight back a large group of gaunts.

"NUCIAN!" Nikev roared "CHARGE THE XENOS!" With that the Nucians drew short swords and began charging towards the gaunts with blood on their minds, theirs or their enemies. Sergent Ornak stayed on the higher ground acompanied by heavy weapon team Pyrne and Arnel to cover Private Sanlar and Medic Karjewski.

As the Nucians reached the line of the Guardsmen they smiled as the shocked troopers looked at them with confusion as the Guarndsmen charged them with swords drawn. The Guardsmen quickly fell in line with the Nucians and began charging forward baynets fixed, screaming their own war cries. Before the Crunch Nikev noted that they were evenly matched as only around 10-16 gaunts were still left alive, He just wanted some Close Quarters to blow off his anger.

Crunch Time. The Guardsmen Smashed into the Guants and there was a fury of screams, screeches, and close quarter shooting as the guardsmen fought the gaunts. Reaching the climax of the fight, Nikev walked over the the guardsmen and asked "Who is in charge?"

Still in shock from what just happend, the trooper snapped out of it. "I am" he said, " My name is Private Vanole of the Naruke PDF. To who am I speaking to?"

"You are speaking to Commissar Nikev Sism of the Nucian Guard. We have wounded as I'm sure you do, where is your field hospital?"

"We do sir! We were heading back to HQ with information when we were attacked. The field station would possibly be there."

"Good, thank you Private. If you do not mind we will accompany you to the HQ."

The Trooper look at him with a smile " Would we mind?" He repeated, " Hell no we wouldn't mind after a witnessing that!"

As the Guardsmen regrouped, the began to head for the HQ, Wary of any lurking Tyranid trying to catch stragglers.

I either made that post this morning in a hurry when trying to get ready to leave for school 10 minutes after said moment, or last night when I was exhausted.

But yeah, dude, that was epic. When I was reading it, I almost thought you were gonna make it a cliff hanger and wait for someone (me) to rescue you or something, but then near the end I just thought: he's gonna nuke 'em. And I was right 'n' all. Anyway, a good end. I suppose you won't be RPing on this thread anymore, and I assume you killed Afi off because you're too busy to do so. Ah well, I think we're gonna be rapping this up in a few pages anyway. Lol, I thought it'd last longer, this RP.

And in NIkev's post, when he said noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo viking etc etc I thought he was saying:
Sorry I left you bud.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT!

But after my post I read it again and saw that he was actually having a mental breakdown because of your charry's pwnage death.

And yes, I got the 'joke'. I didn't notice it was anything like resident evil, but I havn't watched that in a long time, and never saw most of the last few episodes. Ah miss it :( Season 1 was awesome, as I remember. Didn't see much of the 2nd.

But the Lho-Stick thing was expected oO. Seriously, I ask AGAIN; WTF is a LHO-STICK???

War of Attrition @ 2010/04/26 16:46:13

Post by: VikingScott

A Lho-stick is the 40k equivelent of a smoke, or cigarette or whatever you want to call them.
And the joke was the fact that the cigars were master-crafted......

(Resident Evil should have stayed as a game, I found the movies and such just terrible)

OOC: Dude... seriously. Have you ever tried to take a marine prisoner? The only dudes bad-ass enough for that are the chaos marines [see ref. Inq. file #27824.25321Bloodquest].

Tau - got no chance. Arkus'll just give in to the black rage and become an Imperial berzerkoid. That shall not end well for the tau.

Btw, I still wanna bring the BA into this somehow, so that Arkus can become reunited with his chapter yadda yadda yadda. Goddamn you NIkev, you've got me saying that almost every post on here now. -.-

Here's a thing, I know you've got exams shas, but you could make a Tau character. AND I COULD PURGE YOU.

I wanna new character :/

Infact, I do believe it would be a good idea to write an epilogue for this after all. I mean, if we do the Tau thing I think it really should be in a new thread. It gives other people the option of joining so the thread might even be more popular than this one, and the option of Tau characters is just lolwinz. We could even have ourselves another Damocles Gulf crusade :p Or a sicarius failsade.

I'm up for that. But I think we should finish this RP first. How about, we get pushed back to the center of the Capitol and the Tau come in and begin pwning everything.....then....because we are almost out of ammo already, we get owned and captured.

I never said the tau would take the marines easily.....I just said they could. send Millions upon millions of blue skinned losers to be pawned until you faint from exhaustion XD

Well, it's just the thing about all those guard that killed it. If noone minds, later I might post something about the hiveships destroying the imp ships... and some stuff about more Tyranids coming and destroying the guard. IMO, all those reinforcements weren't a great idea... atleast from looking at the last map - there was about 100x more guard than nids and I was like wtf. I dunno, I just thought we coulda all held out against the Tyranids in the capitol, and the reinforcements would just bolster our defenses - not counter attack and completely screw the nids.

I think I have made my point ^^

It just feels like, omg so many guard we've won our individual heroes can go home and eat cookies now.

Had intended to post this on friday, but there we go... I'll try to post more about Jansen tomorrow - hopefully we can get this RP going again. I don't want it to end up like Rogue Trader RP (which was awesome btw, and it was a shame to see it die...)

BIC:

11 squadrons of Valkarie dropships burst though the acrid smoke caused by the destroyed Hellhammer, the engines spluttering as the carbon residue built up inside them. Many of the guardsmen inside had already been dropped off, and were fighting through the Gaunts to get to the Rendezvous point. Resistance was unusually light, with most of the swarm in that area either dead or in disarray. It wouldn’t be long before the Hive Tyrant re-exerted its control on them however, and the company would need to reach the drop zone before that happened. Colonel Scott of Gamma company had already dropped, and had begun clearing out the remains of the Tyranids at the main drop site, his command squad erecting a makeshift address platform near the remains of the ruined tank. After seeing what happened, the Colonel fully intended to commend the brave Tank commander to the high command – and petition for him to be given a posthumous medal of the Greater Champion of the Sanctified Explosion, A* class (sorry, it was the best I could come up with using those letters).

But that was past now, and he had a battle to join. The various squads that made up his company had assembled, and the Colonel stepped up to the address platform:

“Men! We stand today as liberators – men of honour, and justice! But beyond that hill lies the vile scum that is the Tyranids, and we shall see them fall! Move out men!”

As the Guardsmen traversed the ruined city, the sounds of an intense gunfight could be heard from ahead. Navigating to a better viewpoint, the Guardsmen could see a massive battle taking place.

"Looking out across the battle, Nikev turned to the newly anointed squad leader. "Vanole, do you know the way to the Med-station from here?"

"Yes Sir, We are not far from it now."

"Good, I want you to take my squad that carries our wounded to the med-station."

"But Sir, Those guardsmen need our help. We cannot simply leave the-"

"You will not leave them." NIkev said, interrupting the sergeant revving his chainsword. "NUCIANS! CHARGE THEM NOW WITH THE FURY OF OUR LADY!"

Hearing their charging cry, the Nucians with Nikev charged down toward the fight below, leaving the Naruke PDF and the Nucian Wounded to leave for the HQ.

OOC: Just to give myself a change of scene; I once tried to start them you know. But then those marines... The shiny, shiny marines...

BIC:
Shas'el Cor'us'va scanned the area, looking at the redouts from his battlesuits' multi-spectral lenses. He identified so many targets, he almost couldn't pick one. Then he remembered, for now atleast, the Humans were their allies, although from bitter experience he knew it would not last long...
"Shas'la, form up! Flanking positions - move! Skyray, wait for the pathfinder's markerlight signal on the large beasts, prime your missiles! Battlesuits, engage jump packs! Target the swarm with burst cannons and Flamers, the larger beasts with plasma rifles and missile pods. Go!"

The battlesuits' jetpacks roared into life, and the Tau flew from their concealed position into the thick of it. Their weapons brought down the meagre Tyranid force by the dozens, for no casualties in return - so far. A warrior leaped up at Cor'us, but he manoevered out of the way, and as it landed back on the ground he blew it apart with a missile. "Shas'el, loo-Argghhhh!" came the voice of Shas'vre Tor'hun'pel, a good friend of the Shas'el's. A raging Carnifex had pummeled him, and was ripping his suit to shreads. "Stealthsuits, now!" He ordered, and immediately six figures 'appeared' behind the carnifex, all armed with Fusion blasters. And blast away they did, the Carnifex, formidable though it was, was no match for the concentrated firepower, and fell. But just as the Stealthsuits turned, they were overwhelmed by a carpet of Ripper swarms. Additionally, the three Fire warrior squads had been doing a good job of keeping the Termagants at bay, but now they were assailed by Hormagaunts in the dozens, and were falling rapidly. He turned as he heard a massive roar from behind him, and saw a looming Hive Tyrant, its form slick with the blood of Tau. Just then, he saw a little red light imbetween its eyes, and he smiled. The creature seemed to notice something too, but began to charge nonetheless. The Shas'el engaged his jet pack and flew upwards, above the Tyrant, just as three missiles screamed into the things' face. In a large explosion of ichor and gore, the top of the Hive Tyrant exploded, and the rest of its massive form fell to the ground. The remaining creatures were in disarray, but still Cor'us'va had lost atleast three dozen Tau, most of his force. "Fall back, the Humans can deal with the rest." And so they did - the Humans clambering over the mound only to find countless dead Tyranids, with the odd Tau corpse here or there, and glimmering sleek shapes in the distance.

Jansen roared his defiance with the rest of the company as the tide of tyranids swarmed ever closer, the chittering of their claws carried on the wind and could be heard even over the thunder of the basalisks behind them.

The cannons had been battering the swarm for hours, but they were without number, and although the cannons had thinned the swarm slightly, the battle could only be won in the bloody mess of massed firepower. The company had that as well of course - 1000 lasgun armed guardsmen as well as the 2000 they had reinforced was no small number, and when the time came, the sheer volume of lasers would create enough heat to fry many of the tyranids. However, if they got past the long line of sandbags that marked the start of thier defense, it would all be over, and the world would be lost. To Jansen, standing with the command squads atop the ruins at the rear of the force, the battle seemed futile: there were just too many of the damn things.

Narko, Saneal and Karish stood next to him, watching the Tyranids advance. Seargeant Karish had been entrusted with the Banner of the 4th Company, and it fluttered proudly above their heads, filling the men around them with defiance.

Colonel Carc, of the Cadian 172nd 4th Company, who was in overall command glanced at the swarm of tyranids, judging the distance. He raised the vox to his mouth and spoke: "This is Colonel Carc. In the name of the Emperor, All units open fire!"

Thin red lines shot towards the mass of tyranids, and the killing began, bugs dying in droves. Yet still they came, there would be no escape.

There was hope though, if the other companies had won their battles to the East, then reinforcements were possible, but no-one would no about it until they were within 5 miles, as the Shadow blocked all long range vox broadcasts. Rumour had it, as well, that what was left of the Space Marines on Naruke were on their way as well.

This then, would be the final battle, and the fate of the entire planet rested on the outcome...

Yet still the lasguns sounded.

OOC: Right, I've set things up, all that needs to happen now is for the various elements of the RP to come together, and we can wind this thing up. If the different players can write in their entry to the battle, and then when all seems lost, the death of the hive tyrant written about above can happen, and the tyranids can go into dissarray, ready to be mopped up by the remaining forces and the incoming Tau. There may or may not be a fight between the Imperials and the Tau, we shall see what people think. Anyway, just write yourselves into the main battle, and we'll see what happens.

OOC: There can be more than one Hive Tyrant... one old enough to ultimately in charge would've been harder to kill. Also, yes, we should wrap this RP up. If there is another part to it, then it should be in a new thread. But this one has just lost its appeal now... and with me heading two RPs of my own...

Anyways, I don't like the idea of making previous posts take place after more recent ones.

And... um, what's left of the astartes is already in the capitol, defend it with all its might.....

Basically, guys, I will most likely not post anything on here IC today, and probably not until next weekend when I can think propally.

Nikev ran to the line, looking back and forth on the line he yelled "SHOOT BETTER YOU PATHETIC EXCUSES FOR IMPERIAL TROOPERS!" Nikev began blasting with his Bolt pistol. "I BETTER NOT DIE BECAUSE YOU CAN'T SHOOT STRAIGHT YOU BASTARDS!" Nikev reloaded after a spent clip and paused for a moment, looking down at the guardsmen next to him. Jumping down briefly Nikev pulled the mans Las-pistol from its holster" Thanks Trooper" Nikev said as he jumped back up.

Now, firing with two pistols, Nikev was dealing twice the amount of death, although it still was not helping as much as he wanted. As the Horde grew ever closer Nikev wished he had more time to fight for his lady. If only there were some way he could continue the search. Dieing on a planet like this was not how he wanted to go,but, He'd be damned if he went lightly.

Reloading his weapons, Nikev thought about his Nucians and how he had failed them. He had lost good men on this pitiful planet. No, he told himself, our end will not be here.

"FIGHT HARDER DAMN YOU ALL! DON'T YOU DARE FAIL THE EMPEROR!" Nikev roared as he continued blasting.

Vera stalks around the ruined city, far away from the guard he was surposed to get out of this rock of a planet, he calls on the voxcaster.
"Brothers, where are you, this is Vera in the city, respond"
the vox replies with nothing but static as he slams his fist into the side of a building, causing the wall to crack and crumble down, revealing a small room, and two strangly familiar marines playing an ancient game of somekind involving cards, and a speeder bike up against the wall, vera sighs, obviously not noticed by his battle brothers.

As both marines place their cards down, still oblivious to their comander, a loud roar echo's throughout the city, Vera sighs.
"great, just what we need, kais what do you rekon that is?"

Leroy jumps at the voice of the comander, seeming startled where as kais was as calm and collected as always, and seemed to be surrounded by a wall of chips (playing chips).

kais shook his head. "well, sir, tell me, how do you feel about a hive tyrant?"

Vera sunk his face into the palms of his power armour clad hands. "oh gods..... i thought this would be an easy mission, oh well, Leroy, start up the bike, i have a job for you"

Leroy slowly manages to pick himself up from the floor, not hearing what Kais said so he thought it would be something easy, but he was so wrong.

OOC: Leroy Jenkins time?

OOC: I'm not liking this idea of a scout killing a Hive Tyrant.... oO

BIC:

Commissar Nikev blasted away with his pistols, but almost simultaniously both weapons ran out of ammo. His ammunition was spent. It didn't even matter; the 'Nids had reached them now. Drawing his chainsword, Nikev roared his displeasure at the xenos scum. "Come on then, you pieces of sh--gaahh!" Nikev was taken aback, as when he was just getting up a Hormagaunt had leaped on him, knocking him down. It raised a viscious talon, and it came arcing down, but was narrowly deflected by the flak armour - leaving a jagged mark across the flak jacket. Nikev raised his sword, and slammed it into the side of the creature. It screamed in pain, but brought its head down, jagged teeth snapping. The Commissar moved his head to one side, to avoid having his nose ripped off, as he struggled with the thing. Just then, the beast withdrew, it was slowly rising above him - it was writhing angrily, and then a chainsword burst out through its exoskeleten that "protected" its chest - covering the Commissar with ichor and guts. The wriggling stopped, and the chainsword withdrew. A massive form discarded the Tyranid, and looked down. "Careful Commissar, I'm getting sick of holding the hands of all you guardsmen" Arkus Pallemon said, a grin on his face as he extended a hand to help Nikev up. Looking the Space Marine up and down (though mostly up) Commissar Nikev saw that the giants' armour was slick with the blood of Human and Tyranid alike. "The outer defenses have been overrun, most of the first line are dead - we're falling back to the second defense line. Captain Lathem and his thirty remaining Red Scorpions are waiting there along with five hundred remaining PDF's" Arkus reported. The two heroes glanced about at the sound of an alien shriek, and hurriedly fell back to the next line of defense.

"We cannot win! RUN!" Shouted a guardsmen trying to get away from the falling back line.

Nikev sprinted so he was right alongside him "What is your name boy?"
"Private Jaoka" Jaoka said without paying attention.
"Pray I don't find you when we WIN this fight you Coward!"

Nikev stopped running alongside the boy and picked up a fallen las-gun. He began firing behind the line, covering the retreating guardsmen. "RUN FASTER YOU BASTARDS!" Nikev yelled as he put round after round into the horde until his clip was dry. Dropping the gun, Nikev ran with the last few guardsmen in the line. He could hear the claws digging into the ground as the Xenos attempted to gain ground on the Guardsmen and tear them limb from limb.

Nikev could just see the line. As he and the guardsmen were but mere meters from the line, the ground began to shake. O, no. Not again Nikev thought as the ground erupted from under the The Group of retreating guardsmen and threw them to all sides. Some flew back to the horde that was getting ever closer, becoming blood-crazed for imperial blood. Others where thrown to the line, smashing into fellow guardsmen as they landed. Nikev was thrown to the side with two other guardsmen who rolled and skidded to a harsh halt.

"For the Emperors sake!" Arkus yelled, looking back at the carnage. "I don't have another bloody rhino for you this time, you damned xenos!" Arkus screamed defiantly at the Trygon. He then ran to join the defense lines, and, setting his chainsword to rest on his knee, held his boltgun steady in two hands. The Red Scorpions heavy weapons fire all opened up, and within half a minute or so the Trygon was down. But there was a lot more than one Trygon to come... although the small group of space marines defending behind hastily erected Aegis defense lines. The anvil was ready for the hammer to fall. But would the anvil crack?

As Nikev smashed into the ground and skidded to a stop, he could hear the Roar of the beast that had knocked him down. Damned Xenos Nikev thought as he arose from the ground, looking for his Chainsword. It was nowhere in sight, there, a few meters from him his chainsword lay. As he ran for it, the line opened up on the Mawloc, men were shouting in fear and anger as they blasted away with their hundreds of las-guns.

As the Mawloc fell, the Horde was ever more closer, as Nikev rejoined the line with the other stragglers he could clearly see the Broodlord. Towering over the Horde it was impossible to miss. Nikev assumed that it had come out for the final assault. "ALL SMALLER WEAPONS FOCUS OF THE HORDE! ANYTHING BIGGER THAN A LAS-GUN KILL THAT PHEWSHIN BASTARD!" Nikev shouted into his Micro bead.

As Nikev unloaded with his 'acquired' las-pistol he stood alongside the Nucians, Arkus, Jansen, Vera, and Leroy he wondered if this was it. Is this really the end he asked himself. "NO!" Nikev shouted in defiance "YOU SHALL NOT TAKE US! ALL GUARDSMEN! KILL'EM! KILL'EM ALL!". A thunderous reply came back, some where screams of anger, some of pain, but most was full of fear for the comming slaughter.

OOC: I hope everyone is cool with me putting everyone together for that Bad-Ass final stand.

Teepol walked into the command room. The six figures seated around the table stopped talking and glanced up as he entered. Sweat ran down the back of his neck. He stumbled as the building shook, taking another hit from the Tyranids' bombardments.
"Well son, what's the news? How're we doing on the front?"
Teepol gulped.
The building shuddered under impact again.
"Well.." Teepol began, glancing nervously around.
"Speak up lad!"
"Well, it's not good sirs. As you know, the comms system is down.."
"That's why we're sitting here waiting for you to speak, you fool! What's the situation!"
Thump. A huge figure, taking up the full breadth of the double door, walked in. His armour was slick with blood and alien ichor. He carried a revving chain weapon that was slick with gore that was dripping slowly to the floor.
"I'll tell you the situation!" Arkus bellowed.
"This building is the last defense still standing! Our number is only several hundred! We have less than two dozen astartes left and our vehicles are all but depleted!"
There was some uncomfortable shuffling amongst the Generals and leaders. "We must evacuate!" one of them called.
Arkus chuckled. "No, you fool. We cannot evacuate. Even if you could somehow get to a ship - if there is even any left out there in one piece - you'd never get it a mile into the sky. Have you even seen how many Tyranids there are? No, I think not. You've all just been sitting in your little comfy homes while men fight and die out there for you, hoping that they'll eventually win. Well, we're not winning."

OOC: There you go. I know I've moved it on a lot, but seems like it's fitting. Klawz doesn't seem to care much about this thread anymore, so IMO Naruke is probably gonna be lost :/.

I'm sure we'll all escape somehow, however. Trust me, I'm very sure. *shifty eyes*

Meh. I kinda want this thread to die and R.I.P.

If we ever finish my RP's, then maybe we'll make a 2nd part to this story. But until then, I really just wanna wrap this up.

Tbh, it's just me and you left anyways.. Shas might come, but he's rarely on anymores.

Yeah, it is unexpected, I realize that. But I feel you'll agree it was probably a good decision. I wouldn't normally do something like that in a RP, but it was warrented here.

'Sides, I didn't want to have to write a massive battle post that would ultimately lead to my last IC post anyways... I mean d'you think either of us could've actually be assed to do that? No, didn't think so

I'm only not posting because you seem to be doing fine without me. It's a bit difficult to write anything without gakking up anything you had planned. So, seeing as inspiration is not currently forthcoming, when you write the final scene could you send my character off by means of a shuttle from the victorious heavy cruisers in space. Write it so he is slightly suspiscious of Nikev, and hints that they may meet again. He also needs to return the squad he has left, unless you want me to keep them Nikev.

When he does leave, make sure it's mysterious and unclear as to where he heads off to with the strike group.

Thanks.

Hey NIkev, obviously we're not gonna do it for awhile but... do you wanna RP dave's character (what was his name again? ) or shall I? I'm perfectly happy to it, but I won't have a chance for awhile methinks. Or I might well have it done over the holiday, depends what me and NIkev get done.

I am looking forward to another instalment of this, and personally I'd like to be the one to write it, seeing as how Klawz seems to have died. But I don't mind if either of you have something to say about that.

Would you mind not RPing my character? Just pop him in to one of Nikevs story posts as a small aside, I might write more for him anyway. In fact, if either of you just write the end of the battle I'll write his leaving post.

"HOLD THEM EMPEROR DAMN YOU!" Nikev shouted at the top of his voice as he unloaded the last of the Las-gun he was carrying. Dropping the rifle he pulled a las-pistol off of a dead corpse of a nearby guardsmen. As he rose he for the another time he saw hell unleashing itself upon this poor world. He the monstrosities raining down from the sky, he saw monsters the size of tanks pulverize men in mere moments. He had long lost the knowledge of where any of the others were. His Nucians had been spread out in an attempt to keep a sense of control over the guardsmen. Jansen, Nikev couldn't remember were he had gone after the front line had fallen. He remembered Arkus heading toward the command bunkers, for what Nikev knew not. Scout Sargent Kais and what remained of his marines were off fighting in the midst. Nikev knew the one they called Leroy was having the time of his life.

As Nikev began firing his las-pistol, the whine of engines could be heard growing louder and louder. The Valkyries had been arriving periodically now for about an hour picking up high ranking officers. Bastards Running from the fight when the men need them the most. At least, Nikev knew that they would be saved soon. The Ships had created a perimeter around a heavy ship and were evacuating personnel. Nikev knew though that a great deal of men would be lost because the amount of troops left would never be able to hold the tide until the last transports came.

"Dammit!" Nikev spat as his pistol ran out of ammo. He picked up the spent las-gun that he had dropped and quickly searched the bodies nearby for a clip, finally finding one and smacking it home. Taking careful but quick shots, Nikev downed more of the Xenos.

As the Transports came down for another load, this time, it was guardsmen who were racing into the transports.

Private Lanrock had just gotten out of the hell and onto the gunship when he looked back. He saw the men being attacked by the demons that attacked this world. He looked around and could see that everyone was looking down into the carnage that they had left their comrades to deal with while they fled to safety. Reaching up, he turned his micro bead to its highest volume and screamed "COVERING FIRE!". All the guardsmen turned to him and stared for a moment, then, almost all the guardsmen smiled as the guardsmen by the doors leaned out as them men behind they grabbed hold of them for security as they opened fire with their weapons. A little puzzled at first, the pilot didn't know what to do so he just stopped the transport. Then, realizing what was happening, he began to hover over the battle trying to allow the men all the possible firing possibilities he could.

As Nikev and some guardsmen were firing upon the horde as more rushed into melee, gunfire could be seen from above as one of the transports began to hover around the field. Nikev could see men hanging out of the transport firing weapons down into the horde. Nikev smiled at this site, its men like those that made fighting worth it.

Nikev wondered how Arkus and the others were doing. He hadn't seen any of them for a while. He prayed to the God Emperor of mankind that they were alright. As he finished his pray, his las-rifle clicked on empty, and a massive lurking shadow covered him and the men by his side.

OOC: Okay, so maybe this isn't the begining of the end post....I don't know...This kinda drained me. and I'm not sure but.....I do believe that this is the First MASSIVE post that I've ever done :3 but I can't remember.....bad memory and all.

"Fear me, for I am Scott!"

OR

"Fear me, for I am Viking!"

Awesome nickname. Especially if you're all muscly, beared, axe-wielding, law-ignoring, bear-drinking, space-pup look-a-like.

If you want that to happen, you got a bit of work to do.

Oh FYI, got mah haircut about 30 mins ago. Or 40ish. I dunno. Anyway, the sucky thing is, whenever I go there I can never see what they're doing (well, kinda) until the end because I have to take my glasses off.

That being said, I don't wear stereo-typical mahussive round glasses. Although I do need to get new glasses, crappy prescription. Ah well. I'll shutup now, and post whenev's.

"FIGHTING RETREAT YOU UNFORTUNATE HEATHENS!" Nikev roared over the chaos. The last of the transports were coming for their approach. Nikev had seen the others all evacuate except for Leroy, Kais, his Nucians, and Arkus. The Veterens of war were now trying to hold back the Xenos as they tried to consume the retreading imperials.

"Reinforce the Right Flank!" Arkus Shouted firing bolters out of each of his hands. "Don't let them through or we are all doomed!" The 500 odd Imperials were back up upon an incline that seemed to be a massive marketplace of some sort. A few gunships were circling around, raining death upon the monstrosities, but that was far from enough to stem the tied of Xenos.

As their pilot began circling around, the Guardsmen firing out of the guns saw the area to defend. It appeared like a Colosseum. The outside was covered in columns that the guardsmen had erected quick heavy weapon positions to cover their retreading allies. It appeared as though a firework show was on, fire was erupting from everywhere, both sides desperate for victory. As the gunship circled, they could spot a massive horde of Carnifex that was causeing a dust storm so great, the horizon could barely be seen.

"KEEP UP THE FIRE DAMNIT!" Kais screamed to the panicking Guardsmen around him. "IF YOU DON"T FIRE, I"LL START THROWING YOU AT THEM INSTEAD OF MY GRENADES!" Hearing this, the guardsmen around Kais began firing like hardened veterans, none of them wanted to test his words. Kais, was over looknig the Left Flank with Leroy and so far, they were falling all to fast. The guardsmen, lacking the skill and speed of the Marines, were being cut down. Already having lost his two other brothers, Kais and Leroy were the last two marines. Kais looked to the outer rim of the formation to see how Nikev was faring. The commissar had left to the outer rim to help with the retreat of the guardsmen still far from the line. From what he saw, it was pure madness out there.

"STOP DYING DAMNIT!" Nikev shouted above the roar of madness. All around him, Guardsmen were fighting the tyranid foe that was trying to consume everything on this damned planet. "FIGHTING RETREAT! I SAID FIGHTING RETREAT! DAMNIT! STOP DYING!" Nikev yelled again as a guardsmen infront of him was cleaved in two by a tyranid warrior. "I BETTER NOT HAVE TO LEAVE THIS ROCK ALONE DAMNIT!" Nikev yelled as he unloaded the last of his current clip into the beast. As it fell, two more rose to take its place. They both fell due to two quick shots from somewhere far away. Narko Nikev thought to himself That bastard is the best sniper I've ever seen and known.

"267" Narko calmly said to the snipers beside him. Up and down the sniper line, moans and curses in anger were being said as they lost their bets. Funny Narko though. I find it so funny how we make these bets to keep our minds off the true chaos that rages out there. Narko pushed another clip into his Long-las as his gun clicked dry. It was madness out there, and as much as he wanted to be beside Nikev, he could do much more damage in here, Long-las in hand.

The Transports began touching ground, and the Frontline began their slow retreat to safety. But how can they be safe when they were already in hell?

It was a lost cause. Naruke III was doomed to be consumed by the Hive Fleet. Arkus seriously doubted that there would be time to exact exsterminatus on the planet, or that the orbiting ships even had the power. As a matter of fact, Arkus found it surprising that the fleet was still up there, holding it's own.

They fell back to the last, final defense line. Six snipers, and multiple heavy weapons teams layed down covering fire, not that it made much difference, while the few survivors escaped. There was a roar in the sky, and Arkus glanced up to see a Thunderhawk roaring away. An entire battle company.. in one Thunderhawk the Blood Angel pondered. So many marines dead.. so many ancient vehicles destroyed.. Arkus glanced down at the holstered plasma pistol at his side. It had once belonged to the sergeant of the tactical squad who he had fought with against traitors and Tyranids alike. But now, now he was gone. Him and all his squad; Arkus had watched them get torn limb from limb by some viscious Tyranid warriors with savage claws and bat-like wings sprouting from their backs. The sergeant had died valiantly, crushing two of the vile beasts with his power fist before he was brought low.

Snapping back to the present, Arkus sprinted to behind the defense "lines". It was more just guardsmen firing from behind the mound of corpses. Even if they stayed, Arkus knew they'd run out of ammo before the Tyranids ran out of bugs. Hell, everything on this planet was gonna be made into more bugs - even the dead bugs. Bloody Tyranids, you either finish them completely or loose horrifically and the bugs come back even stronger. A dozen or so Valkyries and other craft had set down behind the lines - evacuating the last hundred or so survivors. Men scrambled frantically aboard the craft, and many took off. "Come on!" a man shouted, and the surviving heavy weapons teams and snipers sprinted for the Valk's.

"You coming or what, Blood Angel?" a familiar voice spoke out, over the din of battle. Arkus turned to the Commissar, his expression grim. It seemed the Commissar had been speaking in jest somewhat, but now a dark realization seemed to come over the Commissar. Arkus shook his head.
"No. I shall cover the escape."
"There's no time!" The Commissar pressed.
"Forgive me, Commissar" Arkus said.
The Tyranids encroached ever closer.
"Forgive you? For wha-" Nikev began, before the space marine landed a heavy blow around the mans' face, and though Arkus was careful not to do any permanent damage, it rendered the Commissar unconscious. Hauling his companion over his back, Arkus ran for the Valkyrie, bio-ammo splattering off his power armour. The final Valkyrie's thrusters began whirring to life, and Arkus managed to just reach it in time, and handed the limp Commissar over to two Nucian guardsmen.
"What the hell have you done to him?" one of them shouted at him.
Arkus just slammed the side door shut, and took a step back. He watched as the valkyrie took off, and solemnly turned to the Tyranid horde.
"Come then, Tyranids! I do not fear death for I am death incarnate!" he roared, and began a charge forward, trigger on boltgun depressed.
"For the Emperor and Sanguinious!"

OOC: For old times sake Darkvoid, i'll rp with you. You wont stand alone in this fight.

IC: As Arkus crashed over the rapidly shortening distance between him and the tyranids. He had already made his peace, and was ready to die. Something however, something from the corner of his eye. Something moved. Arkus ducked instinctively as a massive object swung through the air just inches from where his head had been seconds ago.

++For the Emperor! Death to the Xenos!++

Arkus looked up. Zindler was standing before him, his massive bulk eclipsing the sunlight. His huge seismic hammer was gripped tightly in his hands, which, Arkus noted, had a ravener flattened against it.

++It attacked you++

Arkus leapt to his feet, and charged into the swarm. Zindler paused only to dislodge the corpse before he crashed into the swarm after him, his hammer liquifying xenos left and right, a battle hymn upon his lips.

NO! LET IT END! Maybe after I'm done with the zombie RP (you missed out! Imbecile! ) I'll start a part 2 to this, or something..

Really, me and Ghosty are just killing our characters. Or martyring them, anyway. But, will this really be the end of Arkus Pallemon? Find out. Soon.

I would appreciate it, though, if you just accepted what I've written, and left me to finish it off, please. Well, me and Ghosty, that is!

Maybe at the end you can RP the Commissar in an epilogue or something..

If it wasn't in this sector, it'd be a different roleplay, and not a part 2, no? Anyway, I might make it take place in a 100 years or so.. but then again, that would involve me writing everything else that has happened in the universe.. AW BATGAK! Just given mahself another idea.. we're all doomed at this rate.

Jansen Ragnar strode down the ramp of the valkarie to the Cruiser Hammer of Justice, which had agreed to transport him to the Calixis sector, especially after he had flashed the Inquisitorial Emblem. The Tyranid horde in space outside were thinning now, and there was enough space to get out.

A dark figure watched from the shadows, his hood and cloak hiding all but the tip of a power sword and a bolt pistol. Inquisitor Orianus Augustus smiled to himself. This one would do very well indeed. He would need to be deprived of his fancy equipment first - that would make things too easy...

OOC: thats me gone, have fun all. I'll be watching.

Perhaps we should end it here? Perhaps with an epilogue from the Commissar's point of view, as he got on the ship. Or maybe not. I dunno.

I was considering having Arkus fall to the black rage, as it'd be a fun end to him. Just don't really have the time to RP this :/.

One thing's for sure, I'll be making a part 2 at some point in the near future. Maybe.

Hey shas, not to reign on your parade here, but your scouts were a bit insanel overpowered for scouts.. I mean, they had landspeeders and rhinos and lascannons.. what scouts have that?

Anyway, if I make it, which I probably will, the second part will probably take place in 50 years time or something.. because the planet is pretty much going to be left to the nids to eat it.

I can see awesomeness springing from my imagination already.. heh heh.

Oh, and the best part? [erased from database]!

Edit: posted before I'd finished . Anyway, you guys will just have to wait and see. Wait for about two days that is, dependant on how lazy I am .

A hormagaunt leaped and Arkus. He slashed out with his Chainsword, cutting the Tyranid in half above his head, guts and multi-coloured gore splattering his face. He whipped his boltgun up, and fired off two shots, each one penetrating the head of a Hormagaunt and detonating inside their simple brains, covering the ground around the Blood Angel in yet more gore. Another beast flanked him, and brought a scything talon down, but Arkus lashed out, his weapon knocking the talon away and breaking the creatures’ arm with the impact. He turned and kicked it in the throat, its head and neck coming messily off. Looking forward, thousands more Tyranids rushed forward to assail him. There was a load click, before loud, hot promethium burned and melted several dozen Tyranids, Zindler marching forward. Six Tyranid Warriors marched forward, in a vain attempt to halt Zindler. The dreadnought crushed one with his seismic hammer, pink and green gore and guts spilling out everywhere. He picked up another one and crushed it, as Arkus leapt forward, lashing out with viscous but precisely aimed blows against the Hormagaunts, sending half a dozen back to the Hivemind. Gore splattered his face and armour as he fought the Tyranids, and he fought like he had never fought before. After several minutes of hard close combat, Arkus had cleared a small space around him, giving him a few seconds to look around. He had moved far; waded through the sea of beasts – brother Zindler was now at least three dozen metres away, wrestling against a carnifex. The Blood Angel stared on with sadness as the smaller creatures climbed over his massive form, hacking at every part of his form. Soon, the Dreadnought had disappeared from Arkus’ sight, buried beneath a swarm of Tyranid bodies. Flame spurted out, and he saw Zindler, dragged down by weight of bodies, lying front-up on the ground. He struck out, smashing into the head of the Carnifex, destroying its head. Another stepped up, and rammed its massive talons into the Dreadnought. One last shout of defiance and hatred left the Dreadnought’s vox grilles, before there was an explosion, knocking Arkus from his feet. When he looked up, the Tyranids that had swamped Zindler were gone, flames and charred bodies scattered around a large, blackened crater. In that lapse of focus, a Hormagaunt leaped on Arkus. He head-banged it, breaking whatever form of bone was at the front its head. Wrestling it onto its back, he punched its head, crushing it into the ground. Raising his arm, he saw his gauntlet was covered in ichor. He looked up. All around, the Tyranids were approaching. He reached his bolt pistol, and fired until it was empty. He even threw the weapon at an approaching Tyranid, before jumping to where his Chainsword and boltgun lay.

OOC: Grats on 1k. No kidding though, whatever you write, do not kill my character. Or I will hunt you down and eat your face.

Arkus hacked another gaunt down. His armour and chainsword were slick with the blood of xenos. He had been fighting for so long now, hacking and slashing and killing - his mind was currently devoted to a single purpose: surviving and killing. He did not think anymore, he just fought. At the edge of his consciousness, he felt something. He felt a rage overcoming him - a strong, ancient and pure rage. A hatred for those he was fighting. The Tyranids disappeared. He was on a ship, its walls contorted with screaching and leering faces. He towered over traitorous marines, in ancient armour. Massive white wings were portruding from his back, and his gleaming golden armour was a beacon of light in the darkness. He clove his enemies in twain with his massive, powerful blade. When he had slain close to three dozen of them, mighty champions of chaos appeared in front of him. They had been changed - they had massive claws instead of hands and had scything talons sprouting from their sides. He fought them. He slew them. One by one, he dispatched them. Then, the Arch-traitor himself gave a roar, and his minions stood down, hissing at Sanguinious. Hissing? Horus stepped up to fight the winged combatant. Sanguinious struck out, but his blow was deflected. A massive leg kicked out, sending Sanguinious flying to the other side of the chamber. He spread his wings and halted his movement, then dived towards his foe. He swung out. His enemy brought up a mace, crackling with energy, to deflect it. At the last moment, Sanguinious swerved, and bowled into the warmaster. But he was too strong, and Sanguinious was cast down with a swing of Horus' powerful claw. Horus was on him in a second, and as Sanguinious turned to get up, the mace smashed into him. He crashed to the floor. Horus towered over him, almost fully double the height of even the most magestic of primarchs.
"Vos vadum non lucror , haereticum! EGO damno vos!" he shouted at the traitor.
Horus smiled. "Vos es duco , frater. Complexo verus vox dum vos etiam can."
"Nunquam!" Sanguinious cried out.
"Sic exsisto is , Angelus of Cruor."

Sanguinious rose to his feet. He felt a strange feeling. He felt as if he had been here before, as if he had fought this battle a million times, a million ways. And he felt failure.
Not this time.
He came at the traitor, in a flurry of lightning fast attacks that tested even the empowered warmaster. Horus fought back strongly, sorely wounding the noble primarch. But Sanguinious did not give up. His crimson blade blazed, and he struck with all his power - and cut Horus' massive mace in two. A look of surprise came over the Arch-traitor.
"No! It cannot be this way!"
Sanguinious felt strengthened, and he lashed out, driving his blade forward. It collided with a backhand sweep from Horus' massively taloned power claw. His blade punched through it, and Horus roared in anger. Wrenching his blade free, Sanguinious gripped Horus by the throat, and flew upwards. It took all of his strength, and when his strength was about to fail, he let the traitor drop to the ground. Sanguinious swooped down as fast as he could, and plunged his blade straight into the traitors screaming mouth. He then decapitated the traitor, ending it.
"Well done, my son" applauded a voice from behind him.
Sanguinious turned to see a beautific, gleaming figure glad in golden armour, clasping a blazing sword.
"Well done, Arkus."
Everything began to get lighter, and lighter, and lighter, until everything faded in an explosion of bright white light. The last thing Sanguinious saw was the gleaming figure nodding and smiling at him.

Arkus opened his eyes. He was panting heavily. He was lying on his back. He sat up, his body screaming with pain. He looked about his body - his armour was shattered and rendered. He was bleeding from scores of wounds that even he knew would fell the hardiest of veteran space marines. But he felt stronger, tougher and more powerful. He stood up. Everything seemed smaller, and he realized he was taller. And bigger. Looking around him, he saw no living Tyranid. For as far as he could see, he saw a sea of corpses. The xenos dead were piled three deep all around him. He looked down. And he found, below his feet, a massive Hive Tyrant. One arm had been severed and another punctured. And looking next to the massive body, Arkus saw the Tyrants' head.

As the sun began to set on Naruke II, the distant sky filled with a beautiful crimson and orange colour, a lone figure stood upon a great mound, looking into the distance. He smiled.

Well, if you haven't worked out what happened by now (whoever even bothers to read this), well it's pretty simple.

He's done a Mephiston .

The way I represented that is, that instead of dying in the memory of Sanguinious' death, he had the mental strength to kill Horus, and change the memory, for himself atleast. And due to winning, he mastered the black rage, whereas those who fail, just die with the memory.

He'd look something like this now, in game terms:

WS: 6
BS: 4
S: 6
T: 6
W: 4
I: 7
A: 4
LD: 10
Sv: 3+ (does destroyed power armour count?)

Special rules: Fearless, Fleet

Wargear: Chainsword, Boltgun and Boltpistol

Rough translations:

"Vos vadum non lucror , haereticum! EGO damno vos!" - "You will not win, Heretic! I damn you!"
"Vos es duco , frater. Complexo verus vox dum vos etiam can." - "You are mislead, brother. Embrace the true powers while you still can."
"Nunquam!" - "Never!"
"Sic exsisto is , Angelus of Cruor." - So be it, Angel of Blood."
