I'd go with something simple for the name, one or two words. Of course, it does have to be specific and original, as well as catchy. For some reason, "Seduction" comes to mind (I think it's the succubus) and I can't come up with anything else.

Hey all, back from the UK GD. Didn't place in the top 3, but pic on the GW site (stuck it below for you all to see) Not too gutted given the level of competition, especially when the guy that won 4 golds only got bronze in duel! Was top 40k scene, for some reason they seemed to prefer warhammer duels of late. Got reallly good feedback, and the judges liked it a lot.

Awesome time at GD, shame about the lack of new stuff, but thankfully avoided the queues for the shop area by running across the arena. Got a relic contemptor, which is awesome, for a Master of the Forge dreadnought complete with servo harness conversion. Also while in the UK got loads of other stuff too DE and Ogres so the thread's going to get a bit random at times!

Should be updating more later over the weekend with lots more duel photos.

Wow, that looks awesome! with baited breath I wait for more images of it! lovely work, love the DE pose!

Very cool indeed!

Got back into the spirit of things after a post GD2011 rest. Messing around with several things for fun, first up is an Ogre to Ogryn conversion, some bits I would change (arm!) but as it's for fun and pure enjoyment not too bothered! Took about a week in the evening after work to sculpt, and so far 3 hours painting. Happy with the face, got some real character in there, still have arms, shoulder pads and gun to finished off.

Back home on the weekend ( in the US, and why did I pick the only city that doesn't sell tufts of grass!, FLGS is rubbish, didn't even know what I meant), should be done with the paint by Sun.

Have a harlequin venom almost done but now pics with me here in US, will stick those up too over the weekend

I can't say that those nipple don't make me feel a tad uncomfortable, but he's still pretty epic. In fact, everything in this blog is.

Great looking model so far, its just a shame that massive gun covers most of him!

Started the next one, and here's a photo built without hands and pre GS so you can all see where it starts. Some HUGE holes to fill in, bit like a finecast model

Ok so no photos of painting progess as not done much (only base on the gun), light is terrible here and working late so struggling to finish off at night. Bring on Friday for some daytime painting and sunshine.

These Ogryns look really, really nice. I have seen this done before but yours are by far the best Iv'e ever seen!
I was thinking of buying some Ogres to make some Ogryns from The Warstore on Black Friday when they were only $28. I bought some BL books instead. Now seeing this I really wish I hadn't.

And Kung Pow... Very strange movie funny in parts but somewhat painful to watch in others.

Merry Christmas all. A quick update to say about 95% done now, just have the knife, camo roll and chicken to go. Should finish off early tomorrow and post loads of photos! Tried so many new things on it now, arm hair, titanium burn effect on the gun, rust on the base. Very very fun!

Thanks! Hadn't thought of it as his helmet but one of my mates said it really gave a sense of scale! The imperial eagle took a while, first attempt was too big and complicated, this is the second and much better .

Thanks, that face is a pleasure to paint, it's just one of those that you do and don't have to try, bit of red, blue, purple and then some fine lines for character and it's done. Shame all the other ogre faces aren't so nice! The vest was a random idea and it turned out awesome. Next one having the same but without a massive gun in front so you can see the detail!

Plasticard Ogryn sized sniper rifle on the way, just finishing the stock. It´s bigger than he is!

those are one of the very few ogre to ogryn conversions that i have seen that do not look like ogres, but actually look like ogryns! they are fantastic!!!!

Same as the shaven head, but in very fine lines. Mix is Tallarn Flesh-Bleached Bone-Fortress Grey (skin mid tone 1-1-1 mix) with some Chaos Black and a touch of Regal Blue. Mix to 40-60 water to paint, then using a fine 000 brush add the lines. I then re-highlighted using only the flesh tones.

Not so long, around one week of maybe 2 hours per night for the first one with the frag cannon, painting probably about a day in total spread out over a few weeks as I went away for work in the middle of painting!


Some progress to report but without photos, got the basic GS done on the other two for the boots and the legs. Off again for work but this time taking the models, GS and my tools with to carry on. Should be adding some photos later this week.

Decided to change the pistol for the bone ead as the sniper rifle turned out so nice, so plasticard ripper pistol instead of a converted one coming up too.

Thanks for all the comments - hopefully there should be two more as I ordered all the bits I need (furioso armour plates) to make a unit of 5.

Fantastic mods,exalted. Cant wait to see more.

My only (extremely nit-picky) bits of CC on Bennet: not a fan of the "Da Big Gun" tag. I like the idea of an ogryn tagging his equipment, but the "Da" part is too orky for me. The other (and I think you might have mentioned this), is that the left arm doesn't look like it's supporting any weight.

^i quite agree, although i think the left hand (if you are willing a bit of repaint) can be easily fixed by chopping of the fingers at one of their joints and gs them back.. and as i can tell you can handle gs well enough

Thanks! The bits are for another with a flak cannon, one with a plasma gun (not sure why I bought 3), and the sentinel chainswords have already been combined into one big one for the bone ead. Will see if I get some more done tonight as off for work again Sat.

Hopefully some nice new IG models will arrive in Feb or March if GW decide to release them (Stormtroopers and Mortar variants), but not read anything about Ogryns. They definitely deserve better than at present.

Back from an extended break, much to update but for now descriptions only thanks to stupidly awesome ipad giving me awesome new digital codexes but not ability to update photos. Come on apple it's awesome but please!

Have the following done:

Baal Predator with very heavy extra armour, based with highlights, needed wash and then weathering and all the details
Stormtalon, fully finished apart from underside AC turret which is in about version 200 or so, still experimenting, but getting there! All the rest is painted as you'll see in the photos.
Also done resin bases for Mephiston, and also new one for Chaplain Moriar which I don't think I've shown before.
Finally ...... finished last Sanguinary Guard too with base, changed all the grass for Army Painter, much better than standard static.

Got loads of WIP, Necron Cryptek barge, Ork B52, but loads of work to do to start getting photos up, oh and a Space Wolves vs Tyranids diorama for 2013! cos it's just getting bigger and bigger as you'll see
