Love your rats, Bunnygurl! You've got some serious skills there and those bases are awesome with the skulls and bones and little details. Those little details are what take a model to the next level IMO.

Are you just painting for fun or amassing some armies? I'll keep checking out your thread either way!

Namn - Keep workin' on names dude. Something's better than nothing. I have faith a golden nugget's gonna pop outta your ass someday.

Cave_Dweller - I'm thrilled you love my rats. Me too. The Skaven are the first models where I started doing more base detail after some very helpful advice on here. I mainly paint for fun picking out models that I like the look of and want to paint which consequently ends up in amassing a few armies. My largest are Lizardmen, Skaven, Orks, Dark Elves, High Elves, Chaos Space Marines and Tyranids. I have little chunks from almost every other army.

And without further delay!! The Stormboy.

Thanks for looking and endless thanks for your patience.

Very nice work on the berserkers. I also like how you got the muscle definition down on the stormboyz.

Nice work as always! The center part of the rotor blades could do with being a different colour as it looks a little flat. Apart from that he looks great, the colours are very crisp and vibrant. Looking forward to more!

Whoa...I wasn't expecting this many comments so fast.

sum1 - The Jingle-WAAAGH!! I love that!

logg_frogg - Thank you, thank you!

thehod - Thank you. I'm a fan of both as well.

cain - you mean the bulbous bit right in the centre? Do you think I should do it red like the other red bits? If not, thoughts? I always very much value your input. And thank you.

medabee - Thank you. Thank God for washes, no?

schank - Thanks. This is one of my favorite Orks I've ever painted.

Loving the work bunny. I think the skin is done well and the colour scheme as a whole just works. I think its the fact it looks like it was all red ad it's just peeling over time - like they used some sort of cheap paint instead of what they should have! My favourite part are definetley the goggles though. My eyes get drawn to them every time I look a the photo.

I can't really tell from the photo, what is he standing on?

Namn - Thank you again good sir. ^_^

taffiarti - Firstly, thank you muchly. I wouldn't imagine Orks to be the best painters in the world, eh? I love the goggles too. And so simple.
Sorry the pic's not the best. It's just a half tire and some rubble. I didn't paint it very well (I know, bad me, slap on the hand) but I was just so excited that I was actually going to finish one.

No bd words or hand slapping here. A tyre and rubble? Sounds like he just got out of his ride! Perfect for the Orks. But don't sell yourself short hun! A lot of the time the base adds a whole new level to the mini!

Nice job on the metal, bunnygurl! Really works well for Orks, though a light rust wash, followed by really bright silver chips, would look nice to!

Have you had a chance to play against the new WHF O&G's? If you haven't, watch out for mangler squigs. They are basically fanatics, except that they could take out a block of Clan rats, in one turn.

Excuse me, but can I have my colour scheme back !

Only kidding, though I have painting my stormboyz in an almost identical scheme (though my panels are much less weathered, and went for black+red on the shoulder pads instead of bare metal!

Liking the work in the thread so far!

I just had a sudden curious thought...are the pants too dark? I looked carefully and noticed there's not much difference between the bands on the pants and the pants themselves. Thank you 40kFSU for your comment. It made me look at them more carefully. Even though you said you liked them (I do too), I think maybe too dark and could be better. Thoughts?

Black so they is ded 'ard, red so they go fasta!

To be honest, when I painted my stormboyz I didn't even notice the straps until very late in the painting, so all they got was a quick coat of GW scorched brown. If you're worried about them being too dark, I added constrast to mine by painting all the cables with hazard stripes (using the old GW Bad Moon Yellow on top of Iyanden Darksun). Perhaps adding some random small spots of an ultra-bright colour to details around the body may brighten them up enough?

Paranoia - Thank you.

Truffle - Glad you like it.

Zero - I use Blood Red on wires, Space Wolves Grey on fuzzy bits and Sunburst Yellow on any strips of clothe. I think it gives 'em a little more somethin' somethin'.

And I must say thank you all for your patience once again. Now that my son has learned to crawl and climbs stairs, there is no sitting to do anything let alone painting. And with not much help, I'm stuck in a corner. However I have found some time here and there so I have finished a second Stormboy, nearly finished a third (hoping to finish tonight before bed) and almost finished another 4 Clanrats. I plan to post pics of the two newly completed Stormboyz tomorrow. Give ya'll some more eye candy.

Thank you all for sticking around and commenting and I shall fight my way back here with pics for your enjoyment. Sweet dreams and don't let the Tyranids bite.

Now I'd like to do some more painting right now, but I'm dead from my workout at the gym, so I'm not even sure I can lift a paintbrush...but I hope you guys enjoy what I've got here for you and, as always, thanks for looking and happy painting!

Looking sharp! However I will confess to only just realising that the jumpsuits are in fact a very dark green, not black , liking the white on the backpacks, adds a lot of contrast to what can be a rather bland model! Seeing these progress is making me itch to immerse my rushed-and-poorly-painted mob of 15 and re-paint them.

On a side note, I don't know your opinion, but personally I really dislike the random tusks strapped to some of the stormboyz boots, (though you have painted them quite well)

Wow...it has been a while hasn't it? Over a month. Well...it seems I've been a little obsessed with going to the gym lately. I've lost a few pounds, gained quite a bit of muscle as well as energy and self confidence. This however, hasn't left much time for painting. Probably didn't help that I got myself on an aquarium kick as well. I bought a Ryukin Goldfish (I wanted some Bala Sharks too but it didn't seem like a good idea at the time to drop a big chunk of money on a nice big new fish tank). My goldfishs name is Roger, he's purdy and he's my friend.

Awkwardly, I haven't finished a single model in the time from last post to this, but I figured you'd like to know I was still alive. I have done some work on that Skulltaker that I bought for my mother. I'd like to have it finished by Sunday (Mother's day). Keep in mind it's very WIP, but I'd like any tips ya'll have on making it purrfect for me mother. Take a peek and let your tongues fly.

Thanks for looking and I hope to be able to post regularly again. Damn fitness...so...much...fun!

Thanks so much for the comments guys. I'm much happier with how this one is turning out compared to the first one I did - which can embarassingly be found on page 1.

GiraffeX - it was quite time consuming painting each skull, but I did it outside on my deck in my backyard in the beautiful sunshine so it seemed like I was finished in a flash. Nothing like painting outside in the sunshine. ^_^

That's an interesting one, cant say I've ever tried painting in the garden, miniatures that is lol.

You should try it man. Especially when the sun's shining bright. It starts to suck a little when cloud cover rolls in and the wind picks up - it can still be a touch chilly here this time of year when that happens - but IMO it sure beats the hell out of hovering under a lamp. No matter where you go you've got great light to paint under. Probably doesn't help I'm a sunshine/outdoor nut. Painting outside is officially my new obssession.

Inget - Hi dude!!!!!!

On a side note, I'm a little disappointed in myself. I didn't finish my Skulltaker for my mother yet. All I have left is his head, his sword arm and one final highlight on the skin, but sadly I got distracted by a Beastman Chariot.

Bunny's random minis - One can never have too many minis...can they? @ 2011/05/09 17:49:28

Post by: bunnygurl

So I finished my Skulltaker at about 7pm last night, so I suppose technically it was finished on Mothers Day...my mother just doesn't know it's finished yet 'cause I'm not sure if he needs another skin highlight or not. Thoughts?

I've also noticed I've gotten pretty bad at taking pics lately. It's either becuase I don't have my usual pic taking spot, or I've totally and completely lost my touch. Either way, so sorry.

And huzzah to me I've started on my Eldar Guardians I got for X-Mas. Haven't gotten too terribly far yet. My question is, should I leave their armor this dark blue or should I bring to brightness up a notch? I'm thinking brighten it up, but I kinda like the dark look as well. Thoughts?

Thanks for looking and happy painting!

Post by: Moltar

Hey Bunnygurl,
For the Skulltaker, I would leave his skin tone as is, but darken the red armor (shoulder pads, leg guard) with a wash or two.
Guardians look good. I would hold off on the next highlight until you've finished the helmets to see if it is worth it or not.

Bunny's random minis - One can never have too many minis...can they? @ 2011/05/09 20:56:10

Post by: sum1thtdiesalot

Im with moltar on the skin and armor stuff. As for the guardians are you doing Iyaden or homebrew craftworld? I would do the helmets first though to see if you need to brighten the armor a little

Bunny's random minis - One can never have too many minis...can they? @ 2011/05/10 05:45:55

I would leave most of the guardians' armor plates as is, just do a sharp edge highlight to make the armor shapes stand out a bit more.

Thanks for the input everyone. I really like the Eldar dark as well so that's a bonus for me, and it also makes less work sans highlights. As far as the helmets go, I was gonna do them all white, with the face area black and yellow eyes. It looks cool in my minds eye but sometimes my mind can be a bit askew.

So I haven't been as on track as I would've liked with my painting over the past few weeks. Been working pretty hard outside in my gardens. I officially have strawberries and raspberries fruiting for me - huzzah. But I have stuck the brush to a couple things here and there. All that's really noteworthy right now is my Beastmen Chariot that was sitting in the box since March last year. The chariot is done (or at least I like to think so) and the beastmen were just started on their base colors last night so I only have the chariot to show right now.

Ya know...now that I look at the pics up close...the chariot (especially the boars) look much better from afar.

And just for the fun of it...

...tis be alot of clanrats. I bought and assembled a couple movement trays to keep my Clanrats neat and tidy and I thought they looked much better than randomly strewn about my table and in boxes.

Well thanks for looking and happy painting.

Edited 'cause I can't seem to type properly. Seems I had missed a few letters...

That is a lot of clanrats. From what I can see they look good though. The chariot looks good too. I cant say that I am a fan of the boars that are pulling it though. I think they need to be darker. HOORAY for fruit! Fresh fruit is fantastic

Thank you. I was thinking of doing the boars in a couple shades of browns, but I figured that was probably a relatively common color and I wanted something kinda odd...crazy if you will.

I'm excited for my fruit, but I wish they didn't take so long to grow. I'm very eager to fill my face.

nice works, but i paint greenskinz with another way
first i use orkhide shade
than
1. orkhide shade + goblin green
2. goblin green
3. goblin green with bleaeched bone

you can also use thrakka green over all green parts of your model
this is simple way to achieve very nice result)

inmygravenimage - No kidding. -_-

namn - Naw. Don't need now Whiskey. Just need to put on The Wiggles (kids music and dance show) and he's a bump on a log, eyes glued to the tv. Admittedly the TV isn't the best babysitter, but it sure is helpful.

Leigen_Zero - Thank you muchly.

So without further delay I bring you my most recent accomplishments. Accomplishments is actually quite a questionable word to use as nothing is completely finished yet.

Actually quite happy with this one, but can anyone tell me a good recipe for making skin look dead for the head he's holding? I was thinking maybe bleached bone with an ogryn flesh wash, but I don't really have any experience with severed heads. Help?

The loincloth here looks awfully messy...much worse than in person. Darn...

These 4 are nearly done. Just need to do a bit more on the gems.....

......and the little dangly things on their belts. I got the base colors done on 4 more plus that cannon thing (sorry can't remember what it's called at the moment).

Well, thanks for looking and happy painting.

P.S. Lil' guy hasn't figured out the walking thing yet, but that ain't stopping him from being destructive. Plus I got a new puppy who decided it would be fun to walk through the metal post things of my stair railing, onto my painting desk and THROUGH all my Skaven, scattering them everywhere. And now she's eating my socks....oh the joyous mayhem. Buh-bye now.

Those eldar are looking good. I like eldar figs usually because I really like bright colorful paint jobs. The white on the helmet looks particularly good.

nice work

I really am pretty jealous about your control. For me it always takes the most time to get the basecolors where I want them to be! You seem to have no problem with that at all... I think it would be time for you to get away from the simple techniques and try some more advanced stuff, maybe glazing or feathering, you're minis would look even better

For dead skin you should not try to paint it in like a color and a wash as you shouldn't do with any skin imo... Go for a base color of a mix between some skin color an bit of grey and bleached bone with some little bit of green/blue/purple if you want to. The key is mixing up the color and then apply quite a few very very very thinned down layers of highlights and try to go for some unnatural color as a shadow (mix some green in the shadow for example) I would recommend trying it out on some other model beforehand

Yeah - it's gotten kinda long and boring anyways - nice work and if you shouldn't understand what I tried to explain you can pm me if you want

Heyyy, those Eldar look nice, bunnygurl. Better watch out for that boy of yours, they are a TON of fun when they hit the terrible twos; keep everything out of reach, because any two year old favorite toy is your favorite model!

Thank you all for your comments and feedback.

Bangbangboom - I'm happy to report that nothing as been broken by any little creature as of yet. Clanrats seem to be quite formidable.

taffiarti - It seems that way doesn't it.

SnakeByte - Thanks a million for that advice...unfortunately I have no the faintest clue what glazing and feathering is....probably why you don't see any on my minis. I have mixed colors before but embarrasingly it's not something that comes to my mind often.

_Tim? - One step ahead of you my friend. I have a cabinet that I store my completed models in that he cannot find his way into. It's just the WIP stuff I gotta worry about.

A few Eldar have rounded that completion corner and a few more are rolling up to the corner, but seeing as how it's 12:30am and I have no sunshine to take pics in...well, you know the deal. Oh, and something I learned...the metal Eldar Avatar.....pain in the backside to assemble. Had to hold one of his arms on for 45min before it held. Thank God So You Think You Can Dance was on. Managed to keep it from going through the window.

I'll get the hang of this update thing. Promise...I hope. Also doesn't help I don't get to use the computer much anymore 'cause Mr. video game addicted hubby is always on it. Probably also doesn't help that I work nights so I sleep all day when the be a shinin'.

So I've completed my Beastman Chariot save the severed head. Still haven't tackled that, because I've been focused on my Eldar as of late. Only have 2 left in the Guardian unit, and all they need is their guns painted and the extra bit the hangs off the belt, plus being based. Easy as pie. This would have been finished tonight, but it's a no-go as my sister-in-law and baby neice are sleeping in my living room.

Also been assembling my Eldar Battleforce. Finished assembling the Dire Avengers unit (which I will be calling the Tiger Avengers - and you'll find out later when I begin painting them) and the bodies of another Guardian unit. Not looking forward to assembling the War Walker as it wasn't a fun treat last time I assemble one.

Figured I'd go through my list again to see how I'm doing. I believe I'm very much running out of time for my goal of being done everything by my b-day (Nov. 25). Eep!

Oh and I'll speek to a couple of astrophysicist friends and see about that longer days thing, maybe we could change the Earths Orbit around the sun to draw the days out
for you, me and all us miniature mad peoples with lists like that

It could work...... maybe.

Just caught the title, and I totally agree. Longer days and a cheer squad would be fantastic.

And, my, that is a long list. I see you do have a few things complete on there. That's definitely something to feel encouraged about.

I've got quite a long list, myself, but I have yet to finish anything. Batork is the closest I've gotten (and then it's just the severed heads I've got left )

Santobell - I'm rethinking the longer days thing...if the day is longer...it means the expected workday would probably be longer too...is it really worth it?

DarkStarSabre - I'm sure I can do it....but in time?

The Good Green - I do feel good about what I've got done...I'd just feel better if there was more.

inmygravenimage - LMFAO. Ain't that the truth? I could go for some zzzzzs right now...but I gotta go to work...boo. Stupid people shipping stuff to each other. Just walk it over to the other person. I don't care if it's 4000 miles away. What'd people do before FedEx was around, huh? Pardon my rant....

sum1 - Oh what would I do without you? Though I really could've done without the saggy breasted Orc cheerleader...ick. o_O

Bun bun bun bun bun.....BUNNY!

Hey Bunnygurl

one cheer squad as ordered

(one youtube search later and I'm freaked out that the sims was the first thing to appear)

Not stopped by in a while....The little guy must be at least 12 months now. You're a brave lady having and puppy and a baby... Or is it a sensible plan to save on day care?

Nice Guardians, the colours look great.

I also missed these guys....

Hello Peter. Glad to see you stopped by. Unfortunately the video didn't show up. My little boy will be 1 year on Wednsday 13 this month. Exciting, but it sure doesn't feel like it's been a whole year already. I'm not brave...I just seem to enjoy alot of punishment and minimal sleep. But it's alot of fun and I wouldn't change it for anything. Super glad you liked my Rat Ogres. I believe they are my favorite models that I've painted to date.

So now on to pictures. Yes. That's right. I said pictures. But I will have to beg for everyones forgiveness and they're even worse than some of the others that I thought were bad. I've become tired of waiting for the sun to be up when I'm up, plus decent weather (so not photographing in the rain/wind), so I decided to go for the desk and desk lamp. They're not the worst pictures I've ever seen, but they do leave much to be desired. Anyhoo, behold.

Up first, the completed Beastman Chariot.

Thougths on the severed head color?

Next is the completed Eldar Guardians atop paint pots.

And the artillery thingy. I still can't remember what it's called. Please forgive my gems, they're not something I'm overly practiced in yet.

WIP of my last Killa Kan. Still very very much to do.

And the next 4 completed Clanrats that I finished last night to bring the total to 14 completed Clanrats out of 60 or 80...can't remember.

Everybody look to the left...

And everybody look to the right...

And I believe that's everything for now. Once I get the chance to prime some stuff, I'll begin working on my Tyranid Spore Mines and the Tiger (Dire if you wanna be technical) Avengers. All I need is for the wind to go away as I am not the one that requires priming thank you very much. Well, thanks for looking and happy painting.

P.S. On a totally non-modelling related note, but I'm super above stoked about it....I've lost 16lbs.....just thought I'd vent my excitedness with ya'll.

Thank you thank you for the comments everyone. I'm very proud of my weight loss, but I didn't lose anything last week 'cause I ate alot of junk. :\

Leigen_Zero - According to the Skaven uniform and heraldry book that is the color scheme of Clan Rictus. I've had my Skaven for a while, but I never did anything with them 'cause I wasn't sure what color to paint them in. I found it hard to choose between Clan Ferrik (they have Dwarven slaves that make all their armor and weapons so they're all new and shiny) and Clan Rictus that had the cool checker pattern. I also thought of doing a few different clans in my army, but I wasn't sure if that was allowed and no one was really clearing that up for me, so I decided to stick with Clan Rictus purely...but then that makes me wonder about the Plaque Monks...they're part of Clan Pestilens...which is a different clan which makes me assume it is allowed to have more than one clan in an army.

So sorry...welcome to a moment in my mind.

I may have some pictures for ya'll later one 'cause I did a smackload of painting last night after work.

Hey bunnygurl! That beastman hero is fantastic, the axe blade is especially good, looks beaten up but still sharp. Oh wait is he just a charioteer? Never noticed how cool the model was.

I have always liked the beastmen models, they look like they would be fun to paint.

EDIT nice gemstones btw!

I can only break the rules if I don't wanna use them in a game eventually.

Perkustin - I'm not sure if the beastman chariot is a hero or just a unit. All it says on the box is Beastman Chariot, and I don't have the codex. Suppose I could just look it up on the GW website though...I have a few Beastmen models painted up and I will say that they are definitely a blast. If you're ever looking for something different to paint I suggest picking some up. Beastmen seem to be one of the few armies with models that I can paint quickly as they don't agitate my ADD.
And thank you thank you. Haven't had much practice with gemstones, but I'm thrilled you like them.

From what I comprehend of the fluff, skaven forces are nearly always a mish-mash of different clans anyway as bargains/pacts/cunning plans all come together, but pestilens, being a cult so to speak, tend to intersperse among the clans (like rather foetid mormons) in order to spread the word of the horned one

Leigen_Zero - Thanks for the info!

Good news! I completed something! Surprised? Me too. >_<

Next 4 completed Saurus Warriors from my friend. I only have 1 left to go then I can begin work on the Skinks, then that project is all done. Just have his Bretonians to redo afterwards and boy that's gonna be fun. Me = not a fan of Bretonians. But if I'm to show him up, they must be done.

Next 4 completed Clanrats. 2 more left after these and I finally have my first completed unit. 2 more built and primed units after this one and possibly 1 more unbuilt unit of Clanrats in the box...but can't remember for sure.

Side view 1...

...and side view 2.

The new WIP version of Mr. Queek Headtaker. I wasn't happy at all with the red that I started him with a while ago so I started over again and now I like him much better and he fits with the color scheme of the army now too. Puts me at ease which is always a bonus.

Another view.

And from the front 'cause who doesn't like to see Queek Headtaker charging at you?

And here we have a few models built, primed and ready for some color. In there I've got some Tyranid Spore Mines, my Eldar Tiger (Dire) Avengers, a unit of Eldar Guardians with weapons platform and crew, an Eldar Warwalker and an old Beastman Minotaur. Good times.

Well, thanks for looking and thanks for all the cheers. They seem to have worked their magic. Happy painting!

Moartiki - You're welcome and I'm glad to see you stopped by. Welcome to my thread of goodies. The color of basecoat varies between black and white depending on what the model is going to look like when done. Ex. my Lizardmens main color is Ice Blue which is a breeze to paint over a white undercoat but I find takes a bit more to cover a black undercoat.

Moltar - In good time my friend, in good time. I'm gonna finish the few that I have sitting on my table first then I'm gonna dig into the Eldar. I've been seriously eyeing them up ever since I built them so it'll be with much excitment when I do start them.

sum1 - Thank you muchly and they're on their way soon.

schank23 - Thank you. They're not gonna be all too different than the Guardian squad I have posted on the previous page, but the Dire Avengers'll have a bit more flare to them.

40k Ninja - Thank you very much. I'm a fan too.

taffiarti - Thank you.

tipios - Thank you muchly. Check back often. You never know when I'll materialize with more stuff.

Unfortunately ya'll are gonna be quite disappointed. I haven't started on the Eldar yet. I got distracted by my Daemon Prince, my Ellyrian Reavers and my aunt, uncle and cousin who were in town visiting from Montreal (I live in Calgary). I have been eyeing up the Eldar though so don't wander away in a huff. I've also decided to start collecting Vallejo (sp?) paints. I tried one out for the first time tonight and I was very pleased. I must say I enjoy painting with those over GW, but I'll still use GW washes as I'm too lazy to make my own of those unless absolutely necessary. I do have a couple very minor pics for ya'll while I'm here anyways, but please excuse the yellowish tint to the pics. I took them on my stove top 'cause I'm awesome like that.

Primed Daemon Prince. I have some ideas for this one. It's always the getting started that's the hardest part for me. If I don't have everything planned out perfectly in my head I get flustered and abandon it.

The very beginnings of my Ellyrian Reavers from the IoB set. They've been sitting assembled and primed for months and I all of a sudden has this crazy urge to paint them. These are what I used to take my first steps into the Vallejo world of color. I used a darker grey with a black wash hence they look so dark. Don't worry, in case you couldn't tell, they're no where near done horses and all.

They're also headless... o_O

And for kicks and giggles, the before pics of the Lizardmen Skinks my friend gave me to repaint. I really like before and after pics so I figured someone else out there might as well so I figured I'd share.

I like the general color scheme he had going, I just wished he'd stuck around longer to improve and learn a few things. Oh well, I got free models out of the deal.

Well, thanks for looking and hope to be back soon with more pics and more new paints.

Briancj - Never complain about free models, am I right?

taffiarti - I really hope so. I have a very detailed and exact picture in my head of how I want him to turn out. I'm really taking my time with this one 'cause I have such an exact end result in my head. Hoping I can match my minds eye.

GiraffeX - I dunno what he's gonna be. I just paint things the color I want them and figure out the details later...which perhaps could be why I have so few playable armies, but playing's not why I got into this hobby so, oh well. ^_^

slice'n'dice - Thanks for stopping by. Glad you like the variety. I have a hard time focusing on one army mainly 'cause I just like to paint what I like the look of, which is how I started and how I like to continue.

Rabid Ferret - Thanks!

Well, I broke my rule of not buying anything new until I finish what I have. I actually broke the rule a week or two ago, but what I bought just got here today in the mail. I really wanted to go to Gamesday in Chicago 'cause they had an exclusive Skaven Warlord model, but it just wasn't doable for me. Sooooo, the day after it ended I hopped on Kijiji and found me one and bought it. I broke my own rule but I think I'm allowed to for something like that, no? I just had to have it. But other than that, I've been good which is really surprising for me considering I used to go buy something almost weekly before.

And here he is, the lil' buggar. He has since been removed from his packaging and assembled. I must say I tore into this one like a kid on Christmas day.

And here's a quick pic of my WIP Daemon Prince. I apologize for the blurry pic. My camera was on the edge of dying so I hurried to get a quick shot, unfortunately this was the end result. The battery promplty died thereafter and I'm waiting for it to recharge, which I'm quite eager for as I got a fair bit more done since taking this pic a few hours ago.

Thanks for looking and happy painting to all!

Hello all and welcome to another episode of me and my minis. Not much to say except on with the pics.

Finally finished the last Saurus Warrior that my friend gave me. The musician. Now I can move on to the Skinks. Once they're done, I'm finished with that project.

I also finished two more Clanrats.

Which therefore means......

.....I've finally, at long last, completed my first unit of Clanrats. Only 3 left to go.

I got just a little touch of color on two of my five Ellyrian Reavers.

I must say I'm enjoying the colors so far.

As well as a bit more color on the Prince.

I like the wing membrane color, but I'm not totally sold on it. Thoughts? Keep in mind I haven't highlighted the skin color on the wings yet so that may make it look a little different when that's done.

I do believe that's all I have for now. Hope ya'll enjoyed it and I'll be back with more before ya know it.

Excellent work as always. You seem to be going through your blue period?! Your clanrats are particularly great, i love skaven, but your "3 units to go" reminds me why i dont play wfb! Glad kids are giving you a chance to chill with your toys!

Baldsmug - Thank you!

inmygravenimage - I seem to be quite blue happy don't I? I didn't even really notice. It's a nice color though. Can't really go too wrong with it. About the Clanrats, thanks. I really like them despite being somewhat tedious to paint. I'm actually in the middle of a divorce right now (not a bad one though, it's mutual), so I seem to have quite a bit of time to myself these days. It also helps that I'm on a night schedule now so everyone's sleeping when I'm awake which gives me a heck of a lot of me time. It's lonely but leaves lots of painting time.

Cue: Dakka Inbox flooded with date requests.

I love blue (Go look at the Valkyrie in my plog if you want evidence) and you're doing great things with it. I suspect I'd make the membranes a little lighter, given that the skin tones are going to get highlighted.

I think you're justified in buying the Games Day warlord, what with them going for silly prices on ebay already (and I've seen auctions that say 'you pay now, I will be picking it up at games day UK at the end of september, I will send it then)!

Painting is looking great, I really like the blue on the DP, you don't see many people using that deep a blue now, the current trend is for more pastel blues on the scions of change.

Bunny, I like your pics of the Prince thus far. Congrats on switching to Vallejo - that's ALL I ever use now! Just gets annoying how some colors are runnier than others, and some are super thick (e.g., gunmetal grey). Thought for the back wings of the Prince. Would you consider adding in a hint of purple for the darker shading? May look nice along with the silver. Keep up the good work! I have to admit I'm nervous about what you're going to do with the Eldar - afraid you'll quickly put me to shame with my stuff! LOL

I really like your rat peoples and your lizard peoples. It makes me want to get some. I remembered years ago my exwife and I bought a gw painting kit back in like 2000... it had lizard peoples. We tried copy the pictures of how they were painting the models on the box. That was a mistake.

Brian - Haha, you're so funny. Sorry to burst anyones little dream bubble but I plan on staying single for a bit. I'm quite tired of people in general at this current moment in time. For the wing membranes I was thinking a highlight of Ice Blue (which was the original base color for the membranes) or a light purple, or a mix of the two. Thoughts?

Leigen_Zero - That Warlord cost me $30, which is quite a bit cheaper than if I had traveled all the way down there to get it. To save $15 on the model itself would've cost me something like $2000 for airfare, hotel, food etc. Although it would've been nice to get out of the city and travel somewhere. Glad you like the DP. I wanted something different than the red and light blues that I've seen bumping around so I just went for it. I'm thrilled it's turning out well.

GiraffeX - I'm trying to keep myself busy so I don't fall into a little emotional sink hole. That could get messy. o_O

Makhoy - I'm glad I'm switching over after 10 years of GW paints. I hate mixing colors with the pots 'cause I find it to be a pain, but with the dropper bottles I figured it'd be easier. Also now after trying out Vallejo, I love the consistency, the range of colors and just in general how nice it looks. Kinda wish I would've switched sooner. I'm stuck between purple and blue. Not sure which would be better. I wouldn't worry about your Eldar if I were you. You've done very well on them, especially love your Harlequins.

djphranq - Why was it a mistake to copy the box? Didn't turn out well? The only reason I copy boxes is my moments of creativity are few and far between. The painting kit I bought had Bretonian Archers in it...the only reason why I have any Brets at all. Ick. I don't like Bretonians, Empire, or IG. No offence to any players of these armies, but I'm just not a fan of anything too human. I mean, we're all humans and I see humans everyday so why would I want to paint and play a human army. Let's get a little crazy ya'll!

I'm very tired and probably shouldn't be online right now...haven't gotten any painting done if the past couple of days either. Haven't had time nor the energy. Freakin' work's kicking my a$$. Hope to have something for you guys to feast your eyes on soon though so stick around.

What I meant was that we tried to imitate what the instructional pictures were showing where some guy was brushing on white paint on a plastic part. We thought that's what you had to do. I don't remember what happened to the rest of the box. I think there were three models in there plus one of those plastic rack type thingies... like beginner's paint... instead of pots.

And millions of Dakkaites cried out...and were suddenly silenced.

I think a test of the light blue and light purple 50:50 mix might be interesting, but unless there's some purple or deep reds to tie into on the rest of the model, I'm not sure.

djphranq - I'm not quite following. Did you get it at a GW store 'cause I started in 2000 and I don't recall seeing anything like that.

inmygravenimage - Model Color. Is there a difference between Game Color and Model Color? Also, embarrasingly I only have two colors, a grey and a brown. I'm only capable of buying about 2 colors every week or two and I just switched I think a couple weeks ago. My next color purchases will be a turquiose and a white, then I can continue with my DP.

Brain - The poor babies... -_- There's no purple or red on the model as of yet, but I did need a color for the loincloth that's behind the chainmail bit. Maybe make that purple or red? I learned something at work tonight....I can lift 108lbs....barely...but I can do it...damn bedframes. And I thought my weight limit was 80lbs. Ya learn something new everyday. Gave me a bit of an ego though. o_O

Bunny, where have you been buying your Vallejo's? I could PM you with the place I get mine (<$3/color). Also, if you decide to try the purple on the Prince, you might want to consider trying Vallejo's "Sick Blue" - it's a really deep ark rich purplish blue. "Warlord purple" would be another option - it's a medium tone, slightly reddish purple. This one might blend well with your current blues. I've personally got 41 Vallejo's, most of them are Game Colors. There are different shades in the Game & Model series, I think you'd probably want to stick with the Game Colors. Make sure you REST! We female painters need to take care of ourselves! ;-)

Model Color is much thicker; Game Color is pre-thinned. Both good for different reasons.

Bunny's random minis - One can never have too many minis...can they? @ 2011/08/19 15:15:29

Post by: Makhoy

inmygravenimage, I think you may have them reversed. I've got 2 Vallejo's that are really watery, and both are Model Colors. I otherwise haven't noticed much of a difference in the thickness between the two otherwise.

Bunny's random minis - One can never have too many minis...can they? @ 2011/08/19 19:32:11

Hmm. Allegedly MC is the thicker, though there is variation (GC gunmetal is notorious). I have Khaki from both ranges by chance (cheap FoW paint set to good to pass up) and it's very noticeable when inadvertently pick the wrong one! I would say, for example, GC greens and reds are much thinner, certainly. Still, it's interesting to know your experience is the reverse.

Makhoy - I'm buying my Vallejo paints from a store called PM Hobbycraft. The paints are around $3 a pot, but when one only has $1.50 left in their bank account, even $3 is out of their range. I've been looking for a better paying job and hopefully I'll find it soon. Once I find it I should be fine. Rest? With 2 dogs (one of which is only 6.5mths old and not housetrained), a cat, a rabbit, 2 new fish (I GOT PUFFER FISH!!!), a 13 month old baby boy and a night job, rest isn't in my vocabulary. But thanks for looking out for me. Nice to know someone cares.

Trondar - Thanks for stopping by, glad you liked what you saw.

inmygravenimage - I prefer a thicker paint over thinner 'cause if it's too thin, I don't think there's much one can do about it, but a thick paint can always be thinned relatively easily. The main reason why I decided to switch over in the first place is 'cause the dropper bottles seem like they would make it much much easier to mix paint accurately and easily.

killykavekommando - Please excuse the possibly stupid question, especially from me who has been painting for 10 years, but what do you mean by saturated looking? But thanks. The Kroxigors aren't neon. They're Ice Blue with an Asurmen Blue wash and highlighted with Ice Blue. The scales are Enchanted Blue washed with Asurmen Blue.

So in case no one noticed my capitals above, I recently lost my Goldfish last Saturday (poor Roger was only 4 months old). I think it was my fault though...think I used too much of the stuff that's supposed to make tap water safe for fish...I think I accidentally doubled the dose without realizing it...oops. So, feeling lonely with an empty tank bubbling away I was in dire need to spend my last amount of monies to buy new fishy friends. I went to the fish store with no idea what I was going to get, or what would be able to live comfortably in a 10 gallon tank. Wandering around I came across a tank of Figure 8 Pufferfish...and they were perfect for what I had, so I bought two. I have always wanted pufferfish, have always been fascinated with them and thought that they were only for marine tanks. Thank everything on Heaven and Earth that I was wrong. They only get to be about egg size, so two fit very comfortably in my tank. I named them Puff and Poof. Finding these lil' guys made me so giddy I decided to do a bit of painting after I got my little guy to bed. Unfortunately it's time for bed just before I finished the Stormboy I was working on. Just needs a few highlights and a bit of basework. Behold pics. And yes, I drilled my gun barrel.

Thanks for looking, reading and happy painting.

Edited 'cause I seem to be hitting all the wrong buttons on my keyboard. Can't blame me...it's 5:45am...I be tireds...

Thanks. I don't think I'm quite at the scratch building stage yet. I've never ever even used Greenstuff yet, so perhaps we should start there?

I'd personally love to get two more for a total of 4 (that's my fav number) but I can only fit two or else they'll be too crammed and start eating each other. o_O Crazy evil violent fishies. Piff, Puff, Poof made me giggle though. Reminds me of how my mother had 3 bunnies when she was in her 20s named Bibbles, Bubbles and Babbles.

Congrats on the additions to your "family"! Would love to see pics of them! Back to paints - I think you'd be happy with the Game Colors (Vallejo). It's really nice being able to do the blending - 2 drops of one color to 1 drop of another. For when you DO have more moolah - check out TheWarStore.com; Neal has ALL the Vallejo colors (I think), and they're only $2.59 each. I think you'll be pleased with the color range. Their customer support is awesome as well.

Hey, bunny - I just got a unit of Swooping Hawks, assembeled & primed them. Hope to have them finished next weekend & will post pics on my blog, would love to hear what you think of them - so please check it out next weekend. I'll send you a PM as a reminder, if you like!

The stormboy is looking pretty sweet, I'd love to see some wear & tear on the metal jawplaet and shoulder pads!

Pufferfish are lovely, there was one the size of a large potato at a local garden center, could watch it for hours because it looked like it was stoned off it's face! They can be a bit of a challenge to keep mind (I don't have fish my self, but I was thinking about an aquarium so ended up doing a lot of research a while back), and you have to keep the tank quite sparse, and any points/sharp edges can puncture them if they decide to inflate.

Looking forward to more updates!

How did I not notice the part about the puffer fish! I thought they were marine only too. I have a large tank (my wife keeps guinea pigs who delight in pooping round my painting area!) and my loaches quite often come to have a look at what I am up to. Considering painting is actually quite a lonely hobby at times its the little things like that that help it along just that little bit more!

tipios - I have thought about weather, but I'm a very 'clean' person so it just feels weird for me to 'dirty' up something that I've spend a few hours delicately painting........that and I've never done it before so I'm a little scared of painting a whole model then messing it up right at the end. I am NOT a fan of re-doing things.

Makhoy - Thanks for the tip. I'll definitely check the store out once I get a bit more green flowing through my fingers. If I get my way I should soon.

killykavekommando - Yes, the first page consists of a few models from several years ago. I remember I used to lay it on pretty thick back then before I learned about thinning and layers. But I'm thrilled you think I've improved, thank you.

taffiarti - Thank you so much. I love loaches. If I wasn't able to get the puffers, I probably would've ended up with a few loaches. I think they're adorable. I've only had my puffers for a couple days now and they already seem to know me. When I walk up to the tank they swim to the front and just hang out and look at me. I think they've come to realize quite quickly that me = delicious food. Unfortunately I can't see the tank from my painting desk, but just knowing they're there and being able to go say hi anytime makes me happy. I loves my fishies.

Leigen_Zero - He's not done yet. I'm not sure where you started checking out my blog, but I have a few other Stormboys in here somewhere where I did some wear and tear on the red metal bits which is what I was planning to do with this guy, I just ran out of time. The decorations in the aquarium are all round edged, so they should be fine. Did you know they also need to eat snails as they age 'cause they have beaks which constantly grow throughout their lives, just like hamster teeth, so by eating the snails, shells and all, this keeps their beaks trim. Bet that'll be fun to watch. I'd love to see them inflate, even just once, but I can imagine you'd have to scare them pretty bad and that'd be stressful for them and I don't wanna stress them for my own selfish entertainment...but I bet it'd be cute.

They inflate when threatened, and since you have a 13 month old baby an inflation will probably be inevitable apparently they love live food rather than pellets or flakes, didn't know about the snails but it makes sense, seeing as they would probably nibble on coral in the wild (which is a bit expensive as an aquarium food).

I probably have seen (and commented on) the previous stormboyz, but that was >5 pages ago so I've probably forgotten, I'll have to do some back-tracking

Hey guys. Long time no appear for me...but good news. I've finished my Stormboys. All of 'em. Pics to prove it too.

And here is a full army shot 'cause I was bored this morning and didn't want to go to bed yet. However embarassingly small it is, it's my largest army that I can turn into a playable army. I have played them 3 times. Won 1 lost 2. Damn Space Marines...must say my Burna Boys were absolutely useless. Got destroyed in the first turn by a damn rocket. Didn't even get to make a move. Oh well. Thank God for the Deffkoptas. They won it for me.

More good news. Managed to get my hands on 3 more Vellejo colors which means the DP can get some more love. Eager to see if the plan in my head can come out through the brush.

Stay tuned and happy painting.

In other news, now that my Stormboys are done, I've decided to start on my Dire Avengers. Haven't done all too much. Just some base colors and a wash on the body. Hope to get more done tonight. On with pics.

Tazay and [So]Rice - Thank you!

Makhoy - Along with the DAs and a Serpent I have 2 Walkers, 2 units of Guardias with 1 weapon platform each and a unit of Hawks. I'm pretty sure that's all, but I have so many models from everything I may be missing something, but I don't think so. I buy pre-made GW washes. I really like them so I think I'll stick with them for now. I'm much too lazy to make my own.

Emperors_Champion - Thanks. I used to only do fantasy when I first started but I started really getting into 40K when I started my Tyranids. Everything just escalated from there. How many forces do I have? Let's see.
Fantasy - Lizardmen, Beasts of Chaos, Dark Elves, High Elves, Orcs & Goblins, Skaven, Tomb Kings and Wood Elves.
40K - Chaos Daemons, CSM, Eldar, Orks, and Tyranids. Looking in to starting a SM Salamader army as well as possibly Tau and Dark Eldar.
Is that enough? Never...

logg_frogg - Thank so much. Glad you like them. ^_^

Didn't get any work done on the Avengers last night as I went to bed immediately after getting home from work. I couldnt' resist...the bed just looked so inviting. Will try again tonight.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that I have no idea what color to paint the cloths on my DAs...yellow, orange, red, white, bone, grey? I have no idea what would look good and what would be too much. Help me! >_< Pretty please!

I would go with white or bone cloth as there is already 2 contrasting colors on the figs and another would be too much. The white would also create nice visual tie in with the helmets.

For me, it would depend on what color you're doing the shuriken catapults. If you're going to stay with white/grey tones, I'd do the tabards the orange to tie in with the helmet crests. Can't wait to see what you pick! :-D

Just a few then!

I'm just starting my tau force (literally only painted 1 dude so far), also taking a leaf out of your book (or however that saying goes) and turning my blog a little random! Easier to find it all!

Anyway, keep up the great posts!

The guns will be Fortress Grey with a black wash. Same as my guardians if you need reference. I think I'll try one with an orange and one with a white and see which one I like better. I'll probably post them on here for input as well.

Sup peeps. I did some more work on my Dire Avengers and I also started on a metal Minotaur. I did much more on the Minotaur than I did on the Avengers. I've noticed I can sit and paint Beastmen for a much longer period of time than any other model. Wonder why that is... =/

I seem to have a rant as well. I bought new brushes today 'cause my fine detail is dying, and the new brush I have holds water no matter how well I dry it before using it again. I paint, rinse, dry dry dry, and when I go to paint another color, I have water welling up in the bristels which causes the paint on the tip of my brush to become way to watery and therefore flow into places it's not supposed to go. Any thoughts, hints, ideas? But I digress; on with pics.

Note: I made the stripes on the helmet plumes uneven on purpose.

And here, people, we have a decision to make. It's really entirely up to you guys what color cloth I do 'cause I like how both look. Note these are just base colors, didn't do any shading or highlighting 'cause I didn't want to put too much work into something that I'll just end up painting over anyways. This is just to get a general idea of how the colors look to make a definite decision on which one is the winner. Votes please! EDIT: Please keep in mind the gems will be red just like my Guardians.

This is the WIP metal Minotaur. I was really enjoying painting this one, but my bum was getting sore from sitting so long so I figured that was a sign that it was time to quit for the night and head to bed.

Thoughts on what color I should paint the symbol on his arm? Dark red, light red, black or gold?

I noticed it looks a little creepy having his weapon with one arm and two hands attached not attached to his body.

Thanks for looking and happy painting!

bunny, they look great! Personally, for the DA's, I'd go for the orange. The whilte just doesn't "pop" as much as the orange, and it DOES tie in better with the helmets (takes your eye up & down the minis). As for the minotaur, I love the shading you're doing with him! Where do you find these minis? I'm starting to get the itch to start painting stuff other than my Eldar now! As for your comment re: brushes. I've been getting cheapo detail brush sets from HobbyLobby or even Wal-Mart; theyre cheap, hold paint well, and if they start to fall apart - it's no big deal because you only paid a few $$ for 5-6 brushes. My last set I got from Wal-Mart has been working well for over a month.

I'd go for the orange. It is a classic complementary color for Blue, and it'll go well.

Makhoy - Everything I paint is from GW. I got that Minotaur before they came out with the pack of 3 plastic ones so it's a bit of an older one but not really retro. Glad you like him though. I love my Minotaurs. The brushes I buy are from a hobby store - PM Hobbycraft - 3 per pack for about $8, and I've never had issues with them and I've been using them for years, hence I'm thrown off.

Brian - Thanks for the input.

Nice to see the Ork horde in all it's glory bunnygurl.

The Dire avengers are coming along nicely as well I like the way you have done the plumes. I feel its good to see you are doing each one slightly different.

Oh and yes the Minotaur does look a bit creepy with his arms attached to the weapon and not him lol

Hi Bunny, I've been looking in from time to time enjoying your progress on the models and just thought I'd finally drop in and say hello. It's great how much progress you've made not only in terms of the models you've painted but in how far your skill has come. Keep up the great work and thanks for the blog.

GiraffeX - Nice to see you stop by. Glad you like what you see. ^_^

Ovion - I liked the idea but decided ultimately to go with orange. It looks nice and it's my favorite color to boot.

Stormrider - Hello hello to you too. Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment. Hope you can stick around for the party.

I managed to finish my Minotaur tonight as well as make some pretty good progress on my Avengers. I went with the orange cloth and I like how it looks. They just need a few more details, a couple highlights and to be based and they'll be done too. Look at me go!

I highlighted the fur but I think I may have gone too bright so I'm contemplating going over with a Devlan wash.

A bum view for anyone as mature as I.

I tried to make it look like the symbol was kinda fused into his arm by making the skin irritated or scarred around it. Not too sure about it though. Thoughts?

Thanks for looking and happy painting!

bunny, thanks for the bum shot! It's cute! As for the symbol on his arm, I'd recommend using a little more brown in the shade immediately surrounding it - or perhaps even just a brown wash over/arround the symbol. Would look more like scar tissue that way. Other idea would be to lighten the shade immediately arround it and do the brown wash on top...

Well I'll add my 2 cents worth.

Firstly, I'm glad you went with the orange on the dire avengers.. I think that if you end up getting them a transport the orange may be really good fun to free hand and should look really quite striking.

I'm 50:50 on the symbol. I can see what you are trying to do and understand what my main man Makhoy is saying too. It looks to me though like a branding. If it was then I think the mark itself would be redder to as if the scar tissue was forming.

Hope this helps in some way!

Taff

Nice looking elves!

Although I like almost all of it, I particularly like the grey on the guns, the blue on the armour and the eyes

The only parts which I personally think look a bit odd are the spirit stones (some look good, but some have the white 'dobs' a bit too big for my liking) and the flat surface for the top of the 'hair piece' (I know this is how the mini's come, but my greatest regret after painting my first avenger was not trying to find a way to 'texture' the top of the hair... I can only assume that GW thought it shouldn't be textured, but just looks a little odd to me).

Overall though I think they're stunning, and the positives by far outweigh the two items that I personally would do differently.

Can't wait to see more

Makhoy - Thanks. He might have been trying to look like the fish. He really seems to enjoy them. Is always trying to touch them...poor fishies. They haven't puffed yet though so he's not exerting his worst on them yet.

Brain - Ha!

Killykavekommando - Painting babies is my specialty. Plus, ya'll say my painting skills are improving. That baby is proof. Glad you like my Avengers. Thanks.

slice'n'dice - I understand what you're saying about the white. I have issues with white to begin with and doing tiny things, though I'm capable, can be difficult for me and I'm much to lazy and easily frustrated to go back and re-do every stone that got a touch too much white. I agree the plumes on the Avengers would look much better and more realistic textured. I have 0 GS experience so I didn't bother attempting to rectify it. Thanks for stopping by and commenting. Always much appreciated.

schank23 - Thanks. The baby controls all. o_O Don't believe me...babysit for an hour.

Well, on to good news, I've finally - after many weeks if not months - have finished Queek Headtaker. I'm quite proud of how he turned out. Glad I changed the colors on him 'cause I just wasn't happy with the red.

Now before ya'll go crazy on me, I realize the lil' rats down below are missing a few details. I busted through these lil' guys on purpose 'cause I'm running out of time to complete my goal....and mainly 'cause I hate painting those lil' rats. I'd like to go back and do the eyes and teeth, but it won't be tonight...I'm just doing simple table-top quality until further notice. Aight homeslices?

Also begun work on 10 more Clanrats. This is what I call the very messy beginning stage.

Also gave the Warplock Engineer from the IoB set some skin color. Figured he deserved a reward for sitting so patiently while everthing else got some love.

Lil' guy decided he didn't want to paint...turning into mini-daddy. Just wanted to play video games.

Thanks for looking and happy painting!

Tim? - Thanks and thanks.

killykavekommando - Probably the lighting. That part was closest to the lamp...but I may have done too strong a highlight as well. Hard to tell.
I'm not too worried about my boys brains. He's a little sponge and learns everything...which could be a good thing or bad thing...depending on what he's learning. He's recently learned to undress himself...
I'd love to paint some Tau, but I'm not allowed to buy anything new until I finish what I have...which was my whole reason for starting this blog...and for ya'll to ooh and aah over my models and now my boy.

Bad news for everyone though...maybe...depending on how much ya'll like my blog. I may be without internet in a month for an undetermined (most likely a long long time) time. *Cries* Ex is taking the computer when he moves out, no point in paying for internet when I don't have a comp, and I'm not sure when I'll have enough money to buy a new one. I'm hoping to get a good job soon enough that'll give me some cash flow so it won't be too long, but with my luck....

Makhoy - That be cool if ya'll could find a comp, but ya don't have to. I could eventually get one on my own, it just might take 6-10mths... o_O I don't want nothing from my ex except my child support. Technically I have an old laptop that still kinda works, but I really don't want to use it. I'm surprised it hasn't blown up yet, and I can't upload pics on that comp...it refuses to co-operate.

killykavekommando - A bouncing computer. I like it! Does it cost $9? That's all I've got right now... >_< Waiting on hearing from jobs I've applied for.

inmygravenimage - Thank you. And yes they do...as long as you don't mind one color sloppily plastered on with many bare spots. Normally I wouldn't care about not having a comp, but since I've started this blog I'd really like to keep it going. I could just let it die then necro it how ever many months later, but I think I'd have withdrawal from ya'll.

Makhoy - Don't mind at all, and NP.

No painting done in a couple days guys. Been pretty busy packing the ex's stuff (if I didn't do it he'd never leave 'cause he's got it so damn good here), and cleaning every nook and cranny in my house in case my dad decides to sell it on me. If I don't find another job, it might not just be the computer I'd be losing. Sorry guys, don't mean to be a downer, just lettin' ya'll know what's up.

Well, it doesn't have the 10key pad on the side, it's primarily made of platic, and the screen cracks if you slam it on someone's fingers (don't ask), but the screen is easily replaced. It's toshiba's cheapo range, so don't expect much speed, but it is cheap (no idea what the cost is)

btw, if you want to look it up, the body is black, the lid is covered in little dimples, there is toshiba written on it in white, and it's about 10-12 inches wide.

Funny story. Got a laptop, dumb dog ate the power cord...I am computer-less again. On the good side, power cord should be easy enough to find. So for this exact moment in time I'm borrowing someone elses computer to share some much needed pics with you...and don't get too excited...it's just a few.

I suppose you could say I broke my 'no new models unti I finish what I have' rule. I recently got the Dreadfleet set as well as two little boxes of Warmachine. Oh well. I wasn't gonna finish everything by my b-day anyways which is only 1 month away. Not gonna happen. So may as well stock up now and start the goal over again after x-mas for my next b-day. On to pics.

My little chunk of Tyranids Spore Mines.

The two that are actually done.

An early b-day present, Dreadfleet! How exciting. I'm too intimidated to start anything yet however...and I can't decide what I wanna start on either. Dilemmas...

The sprues of goodness I can't stop thinking about.

And my first non-Warhammer additions, the Cryx! Here be the Deathrippers...

...and the ones I haven't started yet, the Defilers. I was technically only supposed to get one (actually none but details, details) but I couldn't decide. Wth eh? It's only money.

And there you have it. Enjoy and hope to be back very soon. Thanks for looking and happy painting.

P.S. No work done on the diorama-ish thing. A.D.D. has severely kicked in on that.

HA! Death chickens. I like that. Never noticed they look like chickens but they really do.

My computer still doesn't have a power cord and I forgot to take pics before coming here to use the computer but I've finished all of my spore mines, built my first Dreadfleet boat - the Dwarf ship Grimnirs Thunder - and built my box of Defilers as well. My boys dad threw away my not-empty cans of spray primer so I couldn't prime my new models yet. Had to wait for him to buy me a new can - which I got today - so let the priming and painting begin....I realize I say that while I have countless primed models on my desk waiting for paint. Aren't I awesome?

Thanks for looking and happy painting to all!

So I got some pics this time for you guys. I got things primed last night and begun painting my first Dreadfleet ship - Grimnirs Thunder. It's a rough looking start, but it's just the beginning as I only had about 30-45 min. For anyone who thinks that's plenty of time....I'm slow.

And all my complete Spore Mines. Quite proud of myself. I finished these in record time for me. About 20 min each.

PDH - Thanks so much. Everyones input and suggestions have helped me to try new things and not be so rushed on everything like I used to be. If it takes me a year to finish a single model, so be it. As far as the straps on the trophy rack go, it's just a base of Bubonic Brown with a Devlan Mud wash. Glad you like it.

Leigen_Zero - Thank you muchly. Waiting for an opportunity to get some white primer and then I shall start on my second ship, the Flaming Scimitar. OooOOOoooOO! It's one of my least favorite ships, but my OCD is making me paint them in alphabetical building order (ya know, when they lable all parts for one model with a letter - so Grimirs Thunder's parts were labeled A, Flaming Scimitar B, etc).

Not sure what to paint next. Work on my HE Ellyrian Reavers...finish some more Clanrats from my horde that's creeping along slower than molasses going uphill in the winter...or maybe close my eyes, grab an unopened blister pack and work on that one. Oh the indecisions.

Thanks man. I should probably get cracking on my Skaven again...there's so many of them. They're infesting my painting table.

Got a small update for ya'll. Begun on my next ship in the Dreadfleet collection. I stopped by GW today and picked up a can of white primer and while I was there I figured I'd grab a new model too since my self imposed ban on buying models is no longer in effect. Knowing I'll be putting that ban back on once the new year hits I figured I'd buy as much and collect as much over the holidays while I can before I do that to myself. Therefore I decided to go for something different, at least different for me. I decided to step into the world of Nurgle. Not usually a fan of Nurgle, I really liked how this model looked...only issue...I have no idea what colors to use to paint it as this is totally foreign to me. I do have gloss varnish though to make it look all gooey...so...bonus. On with pics.

The beginnings of the next ship, the Flaming Scimitar.

The sad beginnings of the sails, but ya'll gotta start somewhere right?

What's this!? Nurgle!? Indeed it is.

Thanks for looking and happy painting.

For the skin I would suggest go with what you used on your skaven, but mix in some pallid greens (perhaps GW rotting flesh, something like that) to give it that decayed look, and use green/purple washes rather than the usual brown/black.

I like that. Thanks for the advice. It totally just gave me the perfect image of what I want it to look like in my head. I believe I know exactly what to do now. Who knows, maybe this first Nurgle with start a love for Nurgles, which have been gradually growing on me over time anyways. Yeah...like I need to start another army. >_< Thanks again for the advice Leigen. I have the next two nights off work, so looking forward to some painting time. I think I should be able to bust Mr. Nurgle out pretty quickly...I hope.

Surprise I've finished some more stuff and begun work on others as well. I seem to be hitting a bit of a painting groove over the past few days. Don't get me wrong, I'm still slow, but I'm doing more now than I have over the past couple weeks.

First I'll start with my Flaming Scimitar. Since the sails are so close together I took a pic of this sail before attaching the other one so you can see this one.

And here we are completed. The fire elemental looks too bright - it really doesn't look that bright and yellowy in person - so I'm thinking about adding a red wash or something of the like. Thoughts?

The other side. Ooops. I see some clean-up that needs to be done. Oh well, nothing major.

A pic of the front sail. I'm really quite proud of the fire I did here.

The little cog that goes with the Flaming Scimitar. Suppose I could do a little symbol on the sail, but it's a tiny little ship and I dunno if I'm ready for that yet...and my hands are cold and shaky right now.

The two together like bestest friends.

The next ship on the painting list - the High Elf Seadrake. This is a double yay 'cause I really like High Elves and I love dragons. Can I hear a woot woot!?

And then we have the very minor beginnings of my second squad of Eldar Guardians with weapon platform.

Thanks for looking and happy painting!

Looking good BG, the sails on the scimitar are looking pretty sharp, my only suggestion would be to hit the wind elemental with another wash, just to deepen the shading a bit (but maybe it's just a little washed out by the camera flash).

The shading on the wind elemental was darker, but I thought it might've been too dark, so I watered down some white, but I guess it wasn't watered down enough.

How's Nurgle coming along? The ships are looking splendid. I agree with you about the fire elemental - I'd try the red wash. And possibly increasing the contrast with the wind one. What color scheme are you going to use with your Guardians? And I'm curious as to why you're doing the EML instead of one of the other weapons (or would you magnetize them).

sum1 - Thanks. I'll try my best. HE intimidate me so this one may take a touch longer.

killykave - Thank you muchly!

Makhoy - Mr. Nurgle is primed, but no color otherwise has reached his disease riddled body. I'd like to create some deeper shadows and whatnot on the wind elemental, but I don't wanna have to highlight it again. It took a while and was a touch tedious for me at least. My Guardians are the same as the other ones I did earlier in this thread. Blue bodies, white heads and grey guns. Simple but looks good IMO. I went with the EML 'cause it's purdy. I don't have a codex and know nothing about Eldar and their weapons and things. I liked how it looked so I decided to use it. I don't know what the other platform has, but if you can find it in here somewhere and tell me that'd be cool.

So I went to a hobby store last night in search of something from the Infinity game, and didn't find anything I wanted. I'm looking to start the Combi Army, but they had nothing from that army. Either they didn't order any or it's popular. Either way, just deciding to head out the door when, what do I find from Malifaux...but an evil teddy bear!! It was a must have. I built and primed him as soon as I got home, but my little guy prevented me from going any further with his hungry belly. Alas, behold!

EVIL TEDDY! This is gonna be awesome.

And on a less exciting note, I finished my weapon platform and crew from my second Eldar Guardian unit. Don't mind the hair...my dogs are everywhere.

Thanks for looking and happy painting! Sleep well.

I think you should paint it up in a similar fashion to the care bear in this picture but with a realistic heart on its stomach. http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff143/jon3jen1/CareBear.jpg

Make it like it tore someone open and then painted a heart on its tummy with blood

Now we all must remember I'm not the best at free hand so it's gotta be relatively simple.

Infinite - Those are awesome. They made me laugh, and who wouldnt' want to mess up a common beloved childhood character? There's a little bit of demented in all of us. Unfortunatley mine can't be nearly as awesome as those as I already glued a skeleton on the base. Suppose my bear could've eaten someone...my bear hearts human flesh?

sum1 - Thanks for the pic and idea. I really like it, just not sure how well I can paint a realistic heart.

Oh the ideas. Loving it!

I was actually going to suggest the rainbow one, like on the right in infinite_array's post.

Although I imagine a more faded palette, like an old teddy bear that's been ditched on the side of the road and has had most of the dye washed out of it, with dirt, grime, mould and those yellowish stains that are a sign of being constantly damp.

I imagine it coming to life twisted and bitter, waddling towards the town, a glint of vengeance in it's remaining button eye as it searches for its former owner to make them atone for abandoning him and severing the unconditional love felt between a toy and its child. The once brilliant luminescense of its rainbow tummy-patch now but a faint glow in the darkness...

killykave - Vanity bear = awesome. Those bears are hilarious and thanks for the idea, but I think this evil teddy screams more of what Leigen is saying.

Leigen - I think I've decided. Not really sure how to do a faded and washed out palette -suppose a few washes and muted colors - but I'm liking where it's going.

Now if only there was some way to stick my boy to the wall so he doesn't bother me while I try to paint...hmmm...

Lone Cat - The Eldar were done with a simple basecoat of GW Mordian Blue foundation then a wash of GW Asurmen Blue. Simple simple. I'm switching my paints over gradually to Vallejo but when I switch my blues I'll find a blue closest to Mordian Blue so that I can continue the scheme relatively unaltered.

bbb - Like the fur color and how it looks like he's wiping blood off of his paws.

I'm not exactly a master painter so please feel free to disregard my advice, but I would build up to a solid beige/cream basecoat (perhaps GW dheneb stone or bleached bone) and then use washes (or very thin normal paints) to create the colour over the top.

Leigen - I see I see. Suppose I could always google pics of faded and neglected teddy bears and see what comes up. I'm sure there's some weirdos out there that took and uploaded pictures of their favoritest teddy bears that have been around for 30 years and never once washed.

All I did today was work a little bit on my Warmachine 'death chickens'. Sorry no pics. Worked tonight...tired...need sleep...eyes going blurry...pain...

o_O Uh-oh......................killed what?

So I had a busy weekend this weekend (holy fething wind today though)...my b-day on Fri, friends b-day on Sat, but I got more painting done this weekend than I have all month. Yay me. I also bought my first Infinity PanOceania model a couple days ago as well as order a starter pack for the Infinity Combi-army. Got a GW Chimera (the magic one not a tank) for my b-day plus waiting on gifts from my mother and brother. Brother will probably be CSM Terminators and my mother's buying me the big box of Warmachine Cryx (starter set I guess you'd call it). Huzzah for stocking up...and then there's gonna be Christmas...then no more buying! Again. Pictures!

The workings of the sails of my HE Dreadfleet ship. Almost done, just a few things left. Did nothing on the ship itself.

Based and washed the Dragon that goes with the HE ship. Needs highlights and the water needs to be done.

My first Infinity models. See the antennas on the dude? They came un-attached...I had to clip 'em, shave 'em and glue 'em. I'm surprised they didn't end up attached to me somewhere.

Finished both of my Crxy Bonejack Deatherippers. Decided to go with snow for the base...lucky me I had GW snow that's fuzzy...yay fuzzy snow. [enter sarcasm] Suppose it's better than nothing though.

Raaawr!

And finished both my Defilers as well. That means I have no more Warmachine to paint for a bit. I must say I really enjoyed painting these four. Not sure if it's just 'cause it's something different than GW or if it's 'cause they're just that awesome.

Pskew!

Also worked on some of my Clanrats but nothing pic-worthy. I'll post those up when I get the whole unit done. Thanks for looking and happy painting.

Aw it's alright. That just means I need to paint more. Well, here you go then. Finished the Seadrake of my Dreadfleet box. Quite proud of it if I don't say so myself.

I realize how flat the orange on the dragons wings look in this one, but really I swear it doesn't look that bad in person.

The dragon that goes along with the boat.

Don't they go well together?

Next up, the - I'm assuming DE - Swordfish.

Also got some more stuff for my b-day but forgot to take pics. I will if I remember later tonight. Got a box of CSM Terminators, a starter set for Infinity Combined Army, and a box of Hordes the Legion of Everblight warpack. X-mas will be my next haul as well as bits and pieces I pick up myself along the way and then no more buying again until my b-day next year or until I finish everything I have. I'm determined I tells ya.

Thanks for looking and happy painting!

Maybe wash the orange wings with a tiny bit of badab black? It doesn't really change the physical look of the model too much (a little bit, but for the better) and it makes it have ore depth in photos!

Maybe show some pictures of the Infinity minis you got, I've always loved the techno sleek look of those things.

Thanks for the comments.

Here's pics of the other minis I got for my 23rd b-day. I haven't assembled them yet so it's just the boxes I took pics of.

The sleeve that the box of Hordes Legion of Everblight warpack comes in. Aren't they sweet lookin'. I couldn't resist.

There's two Combined Army starter packs, but the silver and purple robot guy sold me on this one.

And we all know what the CSM Terminators look like, but I figured they might come after me if I left them out. I've waited 2 years for a box of these. Perhaps I have more patience than I've given myself credit for.

Thanks for looking and happy painting! To the grocery store!

Oh just standard. Nothing special. Pretty much how they look on the box is how I'm going to make them look. That's how the rest of my CSM (except the possessed) are and I really like it and it's simple so black and gold it is. Color schemes wise I'm about as adventerous as a door knob.

The Infinity baboon people (which are awesome) don't look right with red faces. If I were you, I would paint the face to be a dark flesh color similar to planet of the apes. I don't know the background for those guys, so maybe they're supposed to be red for some political reason or something.

medabee - As dumb as this sounds I'm resisting tearing into my Hordes warpack. They intimidate me a bit. I've never painted a Hordes model before and I like the scheme they show on the box very much, just not sure 100% how to proceed with it, though I do have an idea.

killykave - I agree the red faces threw me off a little. I was thinking of doing something different and I like your idea. Thanks! Still haven't put the brush to my first infinity model that I showed a tiny bit back. I just dunno where to start. They're a fair bit smaller than GW models.
I'm not really one for fluff or background so I don't really care about that. I started this hobby 'cause I liked to paint and that's forever how I'll do it. Playing games is just a fun bonus that I like to do occasionally if by some chance I've managed to create a usable army.

killykave - I haven't even started the warped care bear. I haven't been able to look up pictures for reference 'cause the computer's being hogged more than I'd like. And thanks. The Terminators are too cool.

medabee - I have many goals...the problem is them getting reached. Thanks though. Just getting started seems to be my biggest issue.

Leigen - Thank you muchly.

So I haven't done much past couple of days. I started a new day job and my body's so not used to being awake during the day so I'm wiped by the time I get home. Usually just end up crashing on the couch for a couple hours, making dinner and then heading to bed. But I have started on the Swordfish boat and working on my second unit of 20 clanrats. Completed 7, 2 more need their checkers and to be based, and the final 11 still have a fair bit of work to be done on them, but they're not overly difficult. I just need to sit and work on them. I'm trying the 'reward system' to help me pick through all the rats I have to do. Finish one rat, paint a part of a boat I'm working on. Finish another rat, paint another part etc. It seems to be working relatively well so far. When I sit my butt down I manage to complete about 2/hr which is sweetness for me and my typical painting speed. Sad thing is I only get an hr/night IF I'm lucky. Tonight = nothing done...I'm fried.

Thanks for looking and commenting and happy painting to all!

The hardest part of wargaming is to buy models and ACTUALLY paint them.
Through this blog, I finally see that someone actually does paint their collections before rampaging on their weekly black friday (day after American Thanksgiving where everyone goes bonkers on buying things, don't know if that's in Canadaland, too).

Long time no see eh. Been really busy with work what with the Christmas season and all. Doing 11 hours days constantly plus having a child and household to take care of doesn't leave much time for much of anything else. But I didn't do something over the past couple weeks. Behold.

Completed Evil Teddy. Went for a candy cane on his tummy as it's Christmas and I couldn't decide on anything else.

I'm oh so creative so I went all out on the base. :-\ Ah...where would we be without sarcasm?

And the ever so gradual progression on my second unit of Clanrats. They may be small and taking me a pathetic amount of time, but progress is progress damnit.

Well, thanks for looking, sorry for the mini absence and hopefully things will slow down at work soon so I can get some more done as I've amassed a fair amount over the holidays.

P.S. Also figured I'd let ya'll know that as of tomorrow I'm banning myself from buying any more models until I finish what I have...yes...I'm trying that again. Sigh...and I wanted those TK Ushabti archers so bad too...maybe I'll actually complete my goal this time. Wish me luck eh.

Long time no share eh? Been an interesting past year here with the acquisition of a bunch of snakes and my little guy growing up so fast. He's almost 3! Can't believe it. o_O

Glad so many liked the bear. I think that's the only humurous piece I've ever done.

So...not only have I been home sick from work for the past week and a half, I have two weeks of holidays coming up starting next week, so I figured I'd try to breathe some life back into this here blog. I haven't done much over the past year as work has knocked some serious wind out of me, but I do have a bit to share. Unfortunately pics will have to wait until I get a minute on the fancy computer that has a port for my camera memory card. To appease ya'll and hopefully interest a few I've compiled a list of all (at least I'm pretty sure I got it all) of the models that I have awaiting a spot of glue and/or a lick of paint. And here we go, ready or not...

Dark Vengeance box set Limited Edition
x5 CSM Warptalons
x5 Dreadfleet ships (yes I'm still plugging away on these)
x5 Hordes Circle Orboros Warpborn Skinwalkers
2012 White Dwarf model
2013 White Dwarf model
x3 TK Necropolis Knights
x3 TK Ushabti Archers
x3 Chaos Flamers
Nurgle Chaos Lord
Krell Lord of Undeath
Infinity Nisses
Infinity Guarda de Assalto
x1 Unit Skaven Plaguebearers
x2 units Clanrats
x3 River Trolls
Hordes Circle Orboros Warpack
x5 CSM Terminators
Hordes Legion of Everblight Warpack
Beastme Ghorgon
A bunch of HE and Skaven of the IoB set
Ork Deff Dread
x5 Ork Lootas
x5 CSM Havocs
Screaming Skull Catapult (which I want to sell as it's the metal one and I want the finecast one, so if anyone's interested I'll give ya'll a great deal)
Lizardmen Stegadon
Chimera
Eldar Walker
Eldar Avatar
I think I've got a unit of Eldar Guardians somewhere as well
x1 Ork Killa Kan

And take a deep breath....got my work cut out for me, no?

Thanks for looking and happy painting!

And here are the pics. I`m really quite happy with my Daemon Prince. Thoughts?

Finished Daemon Prince, minus basing. Will do that in a bit.

Another angle.

And the other side.

The CSM Warptalons I`m assembling. Not enjoying this process here. There`s a fair few fiddly bits and I`m sick and have clumsy little paws.

My first Hordes unit assembled, though their weapons remain unattached for ease of painting. Excited about these guys.

Thanks for looking and happy painting!

Good to see you back! I noticed you were posting again, so good to see the old thread up and running. Yeah, can't believe our little guys are nearly 3. Weird as.

Just a small update. WIP of the next Dreadfleet ship.

Them triangles are quite fiddly. Only this half of the ship really has any progress, the other half is still mostly just primer.

Top view.

Thanks for looking and happy painting.

It's been a couple days, but I've been painting alot (at least for me it's alot compared to usual). Almost done another Clanrat unit, just 5 left plus checker patterns and basing, and finished another Dreadfleet ship.

I will base them all when I have the whole unit done. Just about there. I think only 1 more unit of Clanrats after this, then on to other Skaven stuff.

It's done though I'm not as fond of this one as some of my others. The triangles were annoying, yet I like how they look.

And the next in line.

Thanks for looking and happy painting.

Took me a while but I've made it from page 1, your painting has certainly only gone up and up in quality since the start of the blog, practice really does make perfect! Plus the huge range of different models is certainly inspirational when you're used to seeing single scheme army blogs. I'll be watching with interest!

Thanks Ignatius so much for the support and taking ALL that time to float through my blog. Much appreciated. I know it`s far from short.

Here`s just a couple things I`ve been doing. Didn`t do any painting for most of the weekend as I went out of town for a mini vacation for a night. Spent an s-ton of money but I really enjoyed myself shopping and relaxing kid-free. On to pics.

This pic upsets me. It looks really grey and dull but in real life it`s got just the right amount of ghostly green hue to it. Probably doesn`t help I took the pic at 1am. I`ll try again tomorrow when the sun`s up.

I`m really enjoying painting these guys, but ya know what I just noticed.....a mold line down the middle of the howling wolfs nose....ARR! I`ll get you!

Nothing too special here. Just a back view with some fur and the very beginnings of a cloak. I have ideas for the cloak and hopefully it works out.

Thanks for looking and happy painting!

Hi. Just had a nose through your blog - the improvement in your painting is fantastic. Those dreadfleet ships are looking really good, I hope we'll get to see the whole fleet once they're done?

Thanks for the commetns. I can for sure post a pic of the whole fleet when done. I still have I think it's 3 ships left to do, but I seem to be rather distracted at the moment with my Hordes stuff. Haven't even built the next one yet, but suppose I could do that rather quickly.

Attempted to take some better pics of the Shadewraith using not sunlight, but my lovely LED lamp that I use to paint by. Let me know if ya'll think the pics are at least a bit better.

Probably my favorite part of the ship.

I quite like the sails as well.

I'm really quite fond of this guy and am having a blast painting him. Not quite done yet so forgive any chopping or streaky bits.

Thanks for looking and happy painting!

Well...I'm back again. Suppose I should probably stop falling off the planet eh? Had another career switch a couple months ago. Same company, different department. I now drive this:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/20735823@N07/7585920108/

Not my picture of my truck but I don't know how to transfer pics from my phone to computer so, alas, I borrow.

I have gradually gotten (more like dived) back into painting, but still only have a couple hours a day. I paint best while I have Youtube Game Grumps going in the background on the computer while I paint. Keeps my mind from getting too distracted. I only have a couple pics for you guys today as I've been focusing on my Hordes wolf guys.

Thanks for looking and hope to have more for everyone soon!

Thank you muchly! I missed it.

Did some more work. Got the wolfies done and worked on another Dreadfleet model, the Skaven ship.

The whole unit.

The champion guy.

The masked/helmeted staring wolf guy.

Base and top separated.

There's a flag to go in that hole on top but I haven't started it yet so no point showing it.

Thanks for looking and happy painting!

Welcome back BG, this 'real world' thing can be a real pain in the ass when it comes to hobby time

Not too familiar with hordes but the werewolf guys are looking great! good to see you're progressing nicely with those dreadfleet ships.

Thanks Leigen. I`m thrilled ya`ll didn`t forget me.

Holy waffles I stayed up too late painting (it`s 4am) but I was so close to being finished the Skaven Dreadfleet ship that I just couldn`t stop til I was done. Now...I`m done...but the freakin` thing somehow expanded or something stupid like that and I couldn`t get it to fit properly on its base. It`s got the big gap where one side of the body is stuck on top of the waves on the base. I don`t understand I dry fit everything before hand like I always do and then BOOM, it doesn`t fit.
I got so frustrated with it that I said 'fine, stick. See if I care'. I may pry it off at a later time when I'm not so tired and grumpy and try to find out exactly what the pitstick is wrong with it. But alas, pics.

Before I glued them together.

And here, notice the massive gap 'cause it's high sided on the waves...Boo....

Other side doesn't look so bad, but still didn't fit properly.

Frontal assault.

Didn't realize how fuzzy this one was til now. Not quite sure what the camera thought it was focusing on. May attempt to get a better one like this later.

Thanks for looking everyone. Happy painting and now I retreat to my bed not to emerge for hopefully a significant amount of time. Ta-ta.

Well, back to work on the Skaven. Nearly done another unit of 20. Just need the checker details, basing and we're good to go. Behold, average pictures of what's first for details and basing.

Hey-lo everyone. I fell off the planet again and it took this long for the gravitational pull to bring me back. Got mighty boring out there.

It's crazy to see how time flies. Last time I posted on here was in June last year! O_o Haven't painted since then until just this past weekend when I got slammed by the bug again. Life has been busy with work, gym, family, a house full of animals and starting a fledgling home business, but I have gotten it down to a fine art now I believe and have managed to make time and energy to get back to what I love and have missed for the past while.

Behold what I did over the weekend!

The Ellyrion Reaver Champ from the Island of Blood box set. I lost his head (that's what happens when stuff sits on a table for a year with a little guy wandering around) so I found a head from my bitz box and shaved and chopped and greenstuffed and I think it looks alright. I'm not too experienced at things like that.

The champs other side.

One of the normal guys.

The other three.

And the gang all together. I'm pretty happy with them but I'm not very good with white. I have plenty more High Elves to practice on though.

Thanks for looking and happy painting!

The white looks fine maybe try a lighter grey in the shadows or more shades as you transition from grey to white.

Anyway welcome back
