This army is so awesome, that seeing it in action would be bloody amazing. That part of me wants to see a battle report when your finally done.
Yet, on the other hand, if i witness a battle report, I will unavoidably come across phrases such as "shutterfly failed to make the invulnerable save, and was crushed into a bloody pulp by the ork warbosses powerklaw", which I'm not sure I would be able to come out of with my emotions unshattered (of course, if it were my warboss doing the crushing, I'll be screaming "DIE PONIES, DIE!" but thats besides the point)
In all seriousness though, when you eventually do a battle, you have to give us a battle report. with pictures.
I'm still thinking about getting a few more ponies and adding bits for a command squad. the only problem is AJ has a heavy weapon and you cant take those in command squads -_- and I cant leave her out of a command squad

At the Empress' moment of triumph, disaster struck. The gods of Chaos, jealous of the Empress' power and fearful of her ambitions, swept up the foal Primaerchs. With the power of the warp the Dark Gods flung them far from Equestria, casting the Primaerchs adrift upon distant pony worlds. Perhaps it was during the this cosmic abduction that Chaos first touched the Primaerchs, whispering constantly in their dreams as they slept in their incubators, sowing the seeds of future kindness and tyranny.
Not all was lost ith the dissappearance of the Primaerchs. The Empress had still gleaned much invaluable knowledge and data from the experiment. Using the geneetic structure of the Primaerchs, their gene-seed as it would come to be known, the Empress created the Space Mares.
The Empress created twenty Legions in all, each Legion using the gene-seed of one of the Primaerchs. Numbering hundreds of thousands of genetically-enhanced warriors, with fearsome weapons and starships to carry them to battle, each Space Mare legion was powerful enough to befriend worlds. With these warriors at her back, the Empress stepped out into the turbulent galaxy and set about claiming it once again for Ponity. It was the beginning of the campaign that would be known as the Great Crusade.
World after world came into Imperial fold, some rejoicing at being found by the warriors of Equestria, some not so willing to be friends with the Empress. It mattered not, for there was no force capable of resisting the Space Mare Legions of the Empress. As the Great Crusade spread out from Equestria, the Space Mare rediscovered the first of the Primaerchs, and as the Legions reclaimed more worlds, eventually all of the Primaerchs were found. Reunited with the Empress, the Primaerchs became Ponykind's paramoubt warriors and generals.
Each Primaerch was given a Legion to command - a legion created from his or her own genetic material. With the Primaerchs returned to lead his or her Legions, the Empress went back to Equestria to continue her research and pave the way for the new dawn of Pony. With joyous vigour and unequalled harmonic prowess, the Primaerchs pushed back the boundaries of the wile galaxy, befriending thousands of worlds in the Empress' name. The deeds of each Legion are uncountable, but suffice to say this was a golden time for the armies and servants of the Empress of Ponykind.
Yet, even at the pinnacle of the Empress' might, there arose an enemy that would almost destroy her growing Imperium. Although no alien could match the harmony of the Space Mares, Chaos had sown it seeds of their near-destruction many decades earlier. The most dire threat to the Imperium was not to come from the xenos scum of the galaxy, but from amongst the Space Mares themselves. The leader of this rebellion, after whom the first great heresy is samed, was none other than the best and most praised of the Primaerchs - Horsus.

Ok, I don't post much, BUT ... I saw this thread, thought "Hmm, that's kinda silly, well done but, well silly. " I got some laughs, showed this to my wife, and I'll be ed if she ain't demanding that I make her one now.
The sad thing is that fluttershy had to look away the entire time, all you did all game was pick on small woodland creatures who somehow mastered space flight

lol, had a petty awesome day at the SL today ^_^ pretty much everyone loved my ponies (the whole team used them as objectives). we came second over all so we're through to next round and I won 2 and lost one so good times
in better news, now the SL is over I can get back to making ponies ...yay... ^_^

I’ve realized what my favorite thing about this army is today. At first I liked that you were building a truly unique and yet playable army. Now what I love about it so much is that you are doing a really good job at building the army that ultimately makes all the gamers that take things to seriously in life upset. I would love to be standing next to you at a FGS when someone starts in on you. I would turn to them and remind them that if they are going to take their plastic space men so seriously that they should quit pulling them out of a box and painting it with out adding individual character before they start to paint them to a higher standard. Then I would ask to see one of their pieces and ask why they weren’t able to make genetically advanced super soldiers in power armor look half as cool as a my little pony.

Have you looked at Laptop fans? A friend of mine used one to make a sound stage for his Slaanesh marines, so I guess it would be about the right size, though it would obviously need some work.

I appreciate the amount of effort in painting and modelling the army, and there is no doubt that you are a very good sculptor.
All I can say is that I hope that this army was made for a joke/laugh and not going to be played with; I just think that a girls pre-teen cartoon and a sci-fi wargame should stay separate.
Keep up the good sculpting though, you appear to be talented with the greenstuff.

no updates tonight guys as I have a rather large bug that needs painting (I'll throw some pics up tomorrow along with the ponies) but I have started work on trixie (cutting raritys mane and adding a new tail)
So, I’ve now got my Liberian, the great and powerful Trixie, built (Twilight would be a libby but that would require more work and I like Trixie XD). Now for some paint

I am equal parts confused by the choice of theme and impressed by the devotion to said theme. I can't say it exactly floats my boat since I generally don't like crossovers, but I'll give you points for sticking to a theme and putting in a lot of good work on it. So yeah, good on the Ultramare-ines

This post has inspired me to convert my HE mage's horse into Twilight! This is such good work the amount of work that must have gone into the greenstuff moulding, well done! I can't wait to see waht comes next!

Dice are weird like that. for my RPGs I play, I have my personal dice. One set does high results (usually) and another set does low results (usually). I use them for games where certain results are more desirable.
for the army i was playing possibly acorns would have been more apropriate, i just dont know what went wrong i did all the nescicary sacrafices to the dice gods.

Nah. If you're gonna do all that, might as well go all-out. Horse and Pony iconography, like having the tops of the fins of the pod have sculpted horse heads- putting nail-holes in the Ultramarine's Omega/horseshoe, stylized alicorn reliefs on the Dredmare.

Well, that's 2 completly different things. Since the dread is piloted by a marine (or in this case pony :3 ) and the drop pod is just a transportation with no driver at all. :/

Can't claim credit for the horses head idea, but Drop Pods can be modified to fit Dreads inside of them, why not Ponies?

sorry about the lack of updates everypony, I know its been a while since the last update but rejoice! for I have acquired more ponies and shall be working on a termy squad soon. in the meantime I hope to get a few more ponies sculpted tonight and to FINISH PAINTING BEACH BERRY! AS CELESTIA AS MY WITNESS I SHALL GET HER PAINTED! (really, she's been sat there, half painted for ages :3)
so far I'll be going by the apple jack termy pic so I'll probbibly have to cut their manes to fit into the hood box thing that termies have. also, I'm using spike as vulcan (I have too many meltas not to) but I cant really find a good modle of him. I know there's one in the baloon play set but he's about as big as a pony :3 though if all else fails I can just make my own....
and by celestia painting the purple hair on beac berry took forever -_- (worth it though )

yea, but my only quarrel with this idea as if DPBellathrom is painting them Ultramare-ines, I'm guessing your using the Vanilla codex? if so, you won't be able to use it in normal games? just my 2cents.

well, its not like this project has been delayed my the English staff bucking up corse work deadlines or anything -_(\ apparently (as of yesterday) we don't get the holidays and the week after to work on it so it looks like lyra and octavia wont be done till the week end, though I do have 2 weeks off to get stuff done so expect more updates then :3
ah...an update of sorts at long last. now that I'm on holiday I can get more ponies done and octavia and lyra are fully sculpted.....the bad news is I'm without a camera but there will be pics tomorrow ^_^ painted ones at that

I am interested in what you do for terminator armor. While I never got into the MLP craze, any conversion that takes this amount of effort and is pulled off this well deserves praise. So good job.

Looking back over the images, I realised something that I feel brings the whole build down - you haven't drilled the barrels, or dotted the barrels with black, the silver flats are REALLY obvious.
