It is floating but I don't think wings would have worked. I wanted it to look like its brimming with power.

That Tau mech is really cool looking, and wonderfully painted. Great job!

This has nothing to do with your painting, but the design of the model is kind of odd in that it's essentially an open-topped vehicle. I don't get it.

Ok what the heck are you using to do the base of that Stormsurge? I love that idea of the grass but i can never find anything to do it.

Stormsurge itself is amazing too, and not outright covered in OSL like most Tau seem to be these days which is a plus.

Thanks, yeah its the only one with an open top. if this takes two crew the titan must take more than one but thats closed so who knows...

bits of flat cork sheet, moddeling paste, GW buildings. the plants are from different companies all on ebay. type in grass tufts and youll get loads

Exellent work for a Xeno. Things like this almost make me want to switch to Eldar.

I always felt like that mini is using it to point somewhere, just mid- action.

I never understood the Cadre holding the Bonding Knife like that. Its not a weapon, its a ritual knife. But why the heck would he ever grab it like that lol.

Also...grass tufts in ebay eh? Will do, thanks. I already do the cork thing, pretty much the same color scheme on the cork as well for my tau. But i have cheapo flock, ,which looks a bit flat, and i cant stand cutting the "horse hair" stuff.

And i like the green OSL. Great to see something that isnt BLUE that works well in a scheme.

Really impressive VK, they just scream off the page! Wow.

The reddish gold is really cool. Need to try this out.

They where painted for GW Oxford so I wanted to do the gold in a way anyone could try rather than with my airbrush. its GW's Retributor spray with a Reikland Fleshshade wash. then sprayed again from a 45 degree angle, washed again, spreyed from the top and washed again. water the wash though.

That's impressive for such a simple system VK, thanks for passing it on.

Is that texture on the gold armor natural to the model or an effect you painted? Seems like steel versions look smooth.

All the detail on the armour is already there. All painted the same gold. Flat plates are highlighted with more silver and a gloss nuln wash and the trim gloss brown wash

Greetings VonKessler, I like what You did with the Giant Bell carrying Standard Bearer Marine, the dark brown/black crusty horns are different from what I have seen so far. The green cloth covering the Bearer's torso is a good color choice.

Those primaris heroes look great. especially the wizard look both gritty and crisp. Wel done.
As for the sister superior, the details look pretty gruesome to be honest. The black causion stripes alone should send her back in the "to do" pile.

all the limbs are at slightly different angles but no converting to the actual limb apart from the right leg
the right leg was cut at the knee and shaved at the back of the knee so it could bend more, also the top of the leg has been moved to bring the leg more inline with the body using a little green stuff to sculpt a little of the ribbed joint to fill a small gap.
