@Knightley - In response to you saying I have a painting style with "wholesomeness" I give you a readhead ogress with mustard on her tit.
@WHALEMOD360 - Can I say tit? Don't ban me, oh mighty Mod. You used to be cool...
This little lady is a unit filler for my Empire army I got painted up. To those of you who aren't in in the WHFB lingo, what that means is that you aren't actually seeing an ogre with a mustard stain on her dress. That is actually 4 human beings equipped with whatever weapons the dudes around her are equipped with.
I had a fun time painting this model. I have been looking for an excuse to paint her since she came out.
The mustard stain actually came from accidentally getting some fleshtone on the red dress. I looked at it and thought, "You can't really tell." Then realized that the "you" is me, so it's probably rather obvious to everyone else. Rather than attempt to match the tone of the highlight, which I wouldn't do-voila. She also has some in the corner of her mouth.
"Um, excuse me...um...you have a...."
"WHAT?!?"
"Nevermind..."
If only for this picture, I am glad I painted the boots. Typically for a WHFB figure, you can just skip anything below the knees.
So, pictorial proof that moonpie can still put paint to model. This is courtesy of the GW WillowLake store, where I entered it into something for a contest and where she resides in the display case as 4 Greatswords.
Next up: Dude. Harlequins. Dude.
Thanks for another project, GW! You guys are the W0RST!
Very nice Moonpie. I especially like the rolling pin. Its good to see you fully embracing your sloppy painting style and painting sloppy people. I suggest more man eaters in your future!
Birds.. ha. Does birds mean chicks in NZ like it does in UK?
Anyways, I have some serious advice and discussion to wrench out of ya'll re: colors(or colours for nonMericans).
So...harlies...what to do? My first inclination is to paint each and every one singularly with its own color scheme ala the way it was old skool. I want to do some stripes, checkers and fancy diamonds, because I apparently hate myself. But, what colors should I use? Also, should I have colors for a whole squad, a whole army, just for individuals?
Do I do contrasts? Do I do complements? Harmonies?
I was considering Orange Purple and Green, because it is the opposite of the primaries I use to paint my empire, but purple is really a bugaboo color for me. I just always think I am doing it wrong, and I don't enjoy looking at it or painting it, or particularly acknowledging its existence.
The paint splatter in the newest WD has a purple that is shown as Screamer Pink washed with Nuln Oil and then edge highlighted with Slaanesh Grey, but that really can't be all can it? And Screamer Pink is actually purple? WTF? I did not know that and if it is, then why is it called pink?
My head hurts.
Also, I am not doing white masks. I don't like that look. So, if I don't do that, then what to do? Gold? I dig the bling fo obvs, but that doesn't work with every other color.
I also want to do pink and yellow, cause they are my favie colors, but The Fools have that down and do I really want to just replicate that color scheme on another set of dudes minus any irony at all?
You provoke existential crises, Harlequins. I hate you and love all at once.
If any of you who have all the proper nombre of rods and cones in your eyes could give your opinions and observations I would be grateful.
Interesting choice for the harlies, if I were to do it I would have one unifying pattern across them all, such as a black and white cross hatch design that features on one panel/clothing.
Regarding the mask, thats a tough one, I would change it up between gold/bronze/silver/tin.
I think if I had an ogre army I would have to snack the whole time I played. Same as I drink and bark when I play my Wolves!
So, the GW store had a box of the finecast Harlies. I picked it up. At first I thought they were good casts, but turns out they were pretty awful. Bubblefest central. Oh well. I didn't fix them because that sort of thing is my least favorite hobbyness in the planet.
I cleaned them up as best as I could and there isn't much you could see from tabletop distance. I have them pretty well put together. I lost one pair of legs, cause I suck. The legless torso will make a different looking troupe leader for me, so it works out.
I primed up 5 of them. 2 are painted already. 1 is on the way. For all my thought and talk, my paint scheme so far has been: "Hmmm... now this color. Now this color. How about this color?"
So, not much to unify them I guess. The shoulder pads, flip belts are all gold. The masks are gold and bone based white.
Otherwise, there is every single color of the rainbow.
I think the Escher I painted up last year helped some. I had Ice take a picture, so I'll post that to give something of an idea.
I've been painting while listening to audiobooks on the lappytappy. This is 100,000% better than painting with the boob tube on. I've got the Joe Abercrombie books-the First Law trilogy going on.
This guy I painted for Ice is an example of what happens when I make up my own color schemes attempting to use color theory. I'm going to try to bring them over to Ice's to show him tomorrow for Pathfinder tonight. Don't promise pictures, because it can get hectic and they have a fortress overrun by ogres to clear out.
Eschers are good. However .. consider.... all white Harlies with gold bling and tiger or Leopard/fur trimmings. See where this is going? oh... and big hats..
Hmm, that patterning certainly does not look sloppy, me thinks you are trying to buck your new blorg title already
The diamonds and stripes are very very good, I had to look twice at the diamonds as I though it was part of the model, but no, you hand painted them on
That's very kind of you, Knightley. The angle of the pictures is well chosen. Towards the back the pattern breaks down slightly... I just threw some shade on it. Nothing to see here folks. It gets wonky where the leg bends. Confusing and all. Just kind of follow intuition and hope for the best... The stripes turned out better than I had hoped. The key to that was for sure my brush cleaner, which gets the MVP award for this venture. I used it as much for these three guys as I had for my last 30.
Speaking of painting 30 guys, I am wondering if this has been so exciting to me due to still having loads of State Troops to bang out.
But whatever, man. Plastic harlies are their own reason. No need for an excuse.
As an update, I just built all 6 of the box I just picked up. I just couldn't stop. Excited to have only one more day of work, before my "weekend" off. TGIM.
I came up with an idea for painting the Skyweavers I have yet to buy. I think it would look cool to do stripes or chevrons in rainbows.
I'm just wondering how many other units they are going to come out with. I have cool ideas for future models, but I would like to see what all I have to work with. Heck, we haven't even gotten an HQ yet. The Starweaver is going to have to happen, vehicle or no-I will paint it. Oh yes, I will paint it.
2 Harlies painted and sealed. New plastic ones. 2 near completion. 2 with not much work at all, really.
Not really able to batch paint too much. I paint a color on one or two at a time, but I can't go too far or I'll forget what color I am painting if I go back to it.
I'm going to get the codex before I go too crazy getting more. Want to see what I am really getting into.
Nice. I used to have some of those. Might have to hit ebay.....
GW web site says the codex ships March 7. Pretty much everything coming in on the West Coast is delayed. Not sure if this is affecting the models, but my FLGS didn't have the Skyweavers this week....
@Gits-Movie theater terminology, I guess. Next time the credits start on a movie you are and you file out with the rest, know that your show has just "dropped". And, yes, my stamina is amazing. Famed the world around.
@Dreadclaw69-Thanks for the link. Interesting. I think that I will stick with goofy and rainbow for the outfits and unify the army with bone/white masks and gold weapons and "armor."
@Solar-The Longshoremen at the LA Harbor love striking or threatening to strike. Used to hear about it a lot when I lived in LA, which I only miss for the food, friends, and weather. They love hearing about it up in Seattle, I bet. LA Harbor is one of those places that just makes you feel very small.
So, it is 1 degree Fahrenheit or, if you aren't from the land of the free and home of the brave, -17 degrees Celsius.
Boo.
6 plastic Harlequins totally finished. Going to try to get pics of them soon. Have to get into the store to show them off and get credit for them. I picked up another box and have played some games with their legs by cutting off stuff on the ground and mixing and matching them. I used a Chaos terminator as basing material having the Harlequin sticking his Kiss in its face. I don't know how you play it gamewise, modeling for advantage or whatever. They are really high up and one of them is upside down. So, I had some fun with it.
-17... where are you living, Siberia? seems you got through those 6 harlies at a fair pace, I look forward to seeing some evidence of your skills shortly
@Gits-I couldn't paint them any other way. That's what Harlequins look like. I dig the new way. It doesn't hurt my feelings that they are painting all the armies alike, but not for me. I feel like keeping the weapons all gold and the masks all bone white that it splits the difference and adds some unity. Next batch will replicate more of the patterns from the original WD painting style.
@Ramos-Thanks, bro. I appreciate the love. The checkered coat, man... I thought of it. I started doing it, and then it was like, what the hell have I gotten myself into. Then it was S or get off the pot. The photography of it is quite forgiving. There are a couple wonky wonk bits on it. I hid some of it with those big hearts and some of it with white highlighting on the folds(like I do). Overall, it looks really great 3 feet away, so I'll take it. By the way, have you tried shading gold with purple and then green washes? I think it looks good... I think.
Next up is the Solitaire! PINK PINK PINK for the WINK WINK WIN!!
@Paradigm: Thanks. I think it still has some unity too, which was important to me.
Yeah, I don't get, but I do it. Apparently, it is what the 'eavy metal team does.
For the record, purple grates on my brain. I have to remember which parts are purple and paint them at the same time, then try to to screw it up later. The separation of "violet" and "indigo" on goygbiv makes me want to start an Inquisition.
Me: Purple is red and blue, right?
Jerk with correctly manufactured eyes: Yeah, but..
Chainsword to the face! Who can't see colors right now?
While I was diligently doing my job today I had a fantastic idea for you moonpie. I see you've done stripes and checkers and there are probably some polka dots there some where, but I felt like something was missing from your pattern palette. FLANNEL! The next group of harlequins need at least a snippet of flannel somewhere on them.
You know you want to. Your brain is probably leaking fluid right now at the thought but you know you want to. The challenge of it is just demanding your attention isn't it? DO IT!
Hmmm, now I am thinking about doing it. Some one pass me a harlequin!
Yeah, I know. No diamonds, no stripes, no polka dots, no patterns really at all. Once I started in, I just wasn't feeling it for this dude. I was thinking about going with a scheme similar to the old style solitaire. That scheme is what happens when you chew and swallow the disco scene and a rainbow and then puke them back up. While I was thinking about the actual role of the dude, I wanted it to be more somber. So, yes, a blazing pink trenchcoat is my interpretation of somber.
I guess since this dude will be my only instance of pink I just wanted to get my mileage out of it. Also, he has the rest of the army colors that are throughout-black, gold, bone. The mask is purely gold, which is a deviation, but the sash carries the bone. I dig it. I hope you guys do too.
Also, am I the only P&M bl0rg doing Harlies? That's just bizarre. These models are a dream. I have one more troupe to paint, then it is back to Empire. I have promised myself that I want to do a HUGE battle for the last End Times book. So, I'll be mounting a painting campaign on the scale of Knighley-approx 140 infantry, 2 cannons, 10ish knights, and KARL FRANZ!!!
I think I will try to wrangle Ice's help with that. He doesn't know yet, because I just thought of it when I actually looked at the numbers...
I think you may be the only blogger doing Harlies at the moment, which is odd as I really thought they were going to be popping up everywhere. My own set is on order, should be getting here some time in the next 2 weeks.
Thanks, guys. Appreciate the attention and praise. Wasn't sure on what the reception for this guy would be. I'll have to see how I feel about painting more Harlies and what the budget is after I get the next 6 done. I want to have a legit, play by itself detachment of them which will require vehicles of some kind. I have at least $200 more I will have to spend to get to that. I also WANT MY CODEXES. I'm not going down that rabbit hole, though. That way lies madness.
If you don't want vehicles, you could always run 2 of the Troupe+Seer+Jester formation and a Solitaire+Seer+Jester formation. That gives you something very similar to a basic Allied Detachment (2 Troops, a HQ-type and an Elite or two)
From what I can glean from the formation rules in the spoilers, due to them not being IN MY HANDS due to Chinese manufacturing and labor unions(don't get me started...), I wanted to go with at least one of the big bad formation if only for that re-roll of 1s on invulnerables. The old school fleet is rad too, even though the pistols they carry tend to be rad, I find myself typically wanting to play fleet wrong anyways due to being old and beardy. If I read crusader plus fleet right though, you roll 3 dice for charge range, get to reroll one of those dice and then pick the two highest? Because that is cool. It seems designed to go with Dark Eldar or Eldar, which I don't care about at all at all. Maybe when Aspect Warriors go plastic and never with Dark Eldar ever. The Elites Solitary formation is cool though. The reroll to 1s feels like it takes some glass out of the glass cannon to me. I don't know the mathhammer on it. I ultimately do want to build and model them anyway. The jetbikes I feel I could do and the weavers aren't extravagantly big, plus I have ideas. Honestly, the only thing threatening to stop my further plunge into more Harlies is my excitement about my other, already established armies.
Also, some help is needed here. I have two of my new hotness troupe who are using chaos marines as "basing material" with their kisses stuck in said Chaos Marine's head. Now, I have gone 2 decades+ in the hobby and never painted a Chaos Space Marine. Other than finishing it with BFTBG pouring out of their orifices, I have not much in the way of how I should paint them. Any ideas out there?
It's true, though. I am more afraid of a bolter than I am of a plasma pistol or a lascannon with these guys. Weight of fire is going to crash their party. But if I can just get in there, they will beat that face up!
I think the Shadowseer is going to be what makes these guys deliverable. Either way, this is definitely one of those armies you lose with a bunch of times before you win.
Right. Vroom: check. Zooooom: check. Movement phase good.
Pew Pew Pew: check. Shooting phase good.
Chop chop whisk: check. Assault phase good.
Putting some paint on things and listening to The Name of the Wind. I like to paint 4 or so at a time. This is, however, the exact opposite of assembly line. I paint one or two colors on one or two guys and move around.
As to the Chaos marines, I have a Vallejo color Old Rose I am using for them. Going to have silver trim. Washing Agrax Earthshade. I want them to be dirty and beat up looking. It will prove a good contrast against the Harlies. Old Rose is a pink, but not really bright.
So, I got more Harlequins painted. I have gone further from the diamond pattern as the standard. I did it on the regular harlequin with the green coat. Whoops. So, I got discouraged and moved on with something different. I just sort of threw some designs and patterns and whatnot.
Also, my Harlequin codex is snowed in at Memphis. So, I lit my apartment on fire and now live on the street.
There was a saying if I recall.... Orange and green should never be seen? apart from the colour choice I really dig the free hand and the soft blends on the cloak really stand out
@Knightley: Orange and green ninjas should be the best then, because they could sneak up on you...
I'll keep that in mind for the future.
@Paradigm: Thanks. Looking forward to seeing yours painted.
@angelofvengeance: My next 3 have even crazier poses. Stay tuned.
@Gits: Ooooh! Is that Gitsplitter?!? He's famous! Have to get my ribs in this way, since Adepticon isn't happening for me this year. Have fun and thanks for the grats. It's appreciated.
I am going to finish off what I have with all the Harlies I have built and bought, but then it is going to be slog time with the Empire. In mid to late April I am going to play my full collection against Chaos to celebrate The End Times. I just got the Archaon book, so that will be the last money I can spend on the hobby for a while. Luckily my unpainted and built pile is huge.
moonpie wrote: Gits: Ooooh! Is that Gitsplitter?!? He's famous! Have to get my ribs in this way, since Adepticon isn't happening for me this year. Have fun and thanks for the grats. It's appreciated.
To start: I acknowledge these pictures are worse than garbage, but it is what it is.
I just set up all the dudes I need to get done for my Empire army-about 100 models to make a legit Grand Army to celebrate the End of the End Times with a Gigantor battle against Matt's hugezorz Chaos army.
So, with all that work done, what do I do? Start painting a Space Wolves flyer.
Get some!
This is like the evil opposites pic to oppose Git's perfectly airbrushed FW tank. I would love to get an airbrush, but I don't have the budget for it. That money will buy a tooth crown, pay a judgement, get another bookshelf, or a halfway respectable couch.
So, I went to the art store and got a $4 pack of crap brushes and it was the best investment I have made in a looong time. That is what that ridiculous orange brush in the top of one of the pics is.
I'm going to go back in later after the inevitable cleanup I'll have to do after the gold. There is not enough dark in it.
I have been worrying about how to do my vehicles for the Space Wolves for....years. So, it's nice to just have done it. Just bang it out and do me.
Btw, when you all come out to Gen Con, you need to come with me to Prizm Art Supply up on Allisonville. It 100% rules. If you don't have a dedicated fine art store(run by a huge Steelers fan, btw) then bummer for you. Next door is the Ale Emporium which has awesome wings.
So, with ado adone, I give you my Stormwhatever-Fang? I can't ever remember:
With another couple layers yet-needed to be cropped.
Unadjusted:
Dakkadjusted:
Might have had those backwards. One is adjusted one isn't but I labeled them wrongly.
This is the one that also contains some poorly positioned members of my Rout to try to demonstrate the painting "technique" I use on them. It's, to put it politely, "impressionist". It has source highlighting, but I do it from the position that there would be hundreds of sources of light on a battlefield.
Note, the bright orange crapola brush that actually totally rules.
Yeah, those pictures suck, but they are pictures nonetheless.
So there.
I'll try to get a picture of the latest finished Harlequin I have done.
I'm hoping the color matches. I used new GW Space Wolf colors and finished off with old school Space Wolves Grey and White Scar(which I adore). This allows me some greater amount of control when doing these big pieces.
So, I put paint on a tank. Yes, Whale, I know it is a flyer not a "tank". But you all get it. I'll have to do the drop pods at some point too. Those are for sure just getting banged out.
As further ado, as I hinted about above, I had a great night running around picking stuff up for this and the Empire project. It really highlighted enjoying living in Indianapolis. I watched Chappie on the 70' wide IMAX for free with a buddy. I dropped by my girl's work to drop off some water, because she doesn't drink tapwater, but is adorable and makes me happy. I hit Prizm which is a place that makes me really happy. The staff is amazing-apparently there has been difficulty getting Kolinsky Sable lately due to it being declared endangered in some places and not others and paperwork blah blah. Plus it is chock full of rad art stuff. Not most of it is of help to this hobby, but art supplies make me happy. Zipped down to Lowes where I could find parking and was not solicited by itinerant day laborers of questionable immigration status. I picked up 2 rolls of Duct Tape(hot pink and sunshine yellow). I then zipped up to one of the two FLGSs I have within a 10 minute drive of my apartment, where they were having Fantasy League night and 4 separate games of WHFB were going on-picked up overpriced GW primer because...reasons. Hit Arby's, Jamocha shake and Classic Roast Beefs with Horsey sauce. Went home to paint with Patrick Rothfuss audiobook for frees courtesy of the Indianapolis Public Library. I try to not talk politics, as I am a rabid libertarian, and this is not a normal view to have. My boss knows, as he is also a Heinlein fan, so it has come up. He is not a rabid libertarian, and his best offense against my view is public libraries. Don't know what to say about it. But didn't Jefferson come up with that idea. That makes it ok right? Dude wrote the Declaration of Independence.
Plus, we have reached temps that it can't snow at. Bam! Of course, it was raining and our roads are destroyed. He giveth/taketh away...
Anyways, it's a good town to live in. Makes me happy to be here and near enough to Ice to play games and eat his in-laws' food(they killed it tonight). This midwest boy feels comfortable here, a comfort I just never felt in Los Angeles-no matter what amount of COOL STUFF they had there.
Also, to those that play D&D or other RPGs, I killed my first PC as a GM today. I felt a little bad.
But, don't charge the big bad guy by yourself without full hit points!
Hope you guys dig it. If you find yourself some excess good vibes on Friday, send them my way after 5pm eastern time.
Looks awesome. I believe it counts in the tank category by the way. I would paint the pilot myself but I can see the ease of not going that route. Looking forward to all the Wolf bits yet to finish. Trim and gribblies always take me the longest and somehow I always miss something I notice months later during some game. I did enjoy painting the 2 for YB but am relieved that their done and gone.
Looking forward to seeing you ( and these SW ) at next year’s AC.
What charge what for that PC to die? please don't tell me it was a level 1 wizard being killed by a giant rat type of embarrassment? also, I'm not talking out of experience here.... yeah that's it.

My in game sister Karo, the level 8 human monk, charged an ogre barbarian with a human bane ogre hook. She got jumped by a couple weird ogre dog things along the way but was chopped down in one round by the nasty ogre hook. 74 points of damage, or something like that in six seconds.
It was very sad. We quickly avenged her but it was too late for my sister. Has Moonpie mentioned that he permanently blinded my character two weeks ago? What a jerk......
Brutal Ice, sounds like was trying to take away all the senses, first sight, next would be touch (removed head from the body) any chance of resurrection by high level cleric?
It would be possible to resurrect her but highly unlikely. We are way out in the wilderness, months from the nearest place that would have a cleric high enough level to preform the deed. Also, she and I came from a clan of barbarians that hate undead. I don't think our people like the idea of resurrections. More importantly, it would take us months in real life time to get there and that would leave one player without a character for a long time.
Did you de-wolf that flyer? It seems to have less bling on it then I remember from the pictures.
You playing Rise of the Runelords? Your death story sounds familiar. Ogres/giants with x3 and x4 crit weapons are brutal for spike damage. You go from “fine” to “dead” with no warning. Monks are particularly bad for that, as they generally rely on AC not giant meaty wads of HPs to stay up. So when the dice turn on them, it gets ugly FAST.
@Nevelon- Yep, right on the money with that-RotR. Jaagrath Kreeg, aka Daddy, just saw his son take an arrow in the back of the head and die. The monk rushed him. Attack of Opportunity hit from entering reach threatened square, then on his turn POW!
At least it was a named character, with his own Pawn, not Ogre 25. They had been chopping them down pretty well outside of the named ones whou had Fighter levels. I added a couple Troggles from the Monster Codex for some challenge. It was a little reckless of her as she knew she wasn't invulnerable, having 2 sessions ago having been knocked below 0 and stuck on a meat hook while the water boiled in the cauldron. You see, the key is to let the water boil, then add the human. Trying to save her, Ice's character had his eyes slashed and was blinded. So, for this fight he was being led towards the fight as he kept falling down otherwise. I guess I kind of feel bad, but I have had characters die in similar manners before.
Spike damage is a good way to put it. Human bane is bad news bears.
As for the bling, I just haven't gotten to it yet. It will get golded up nice and pretty.
@Brian- You should take Ice and I out to St. Elmo's for shrimp cocktail!
@Knightley - They are deep in the wilderness, resurrection and raising is kind of out of reach. She died. Next game session she will be buried and a wandering new hero will arrive.
Just found this... and wow! Great looking minis! I've only gone back far enough to see your Harlies (which are awesome, btw!) but I'll catch up another time.
Welcome, Zambro! It doesn't have much of a theme to it, besides presenting what I am working on and have done. It has its WHFB phases and Space Marine phases and Harlequin phases. Glad you have enjoyed so far. Hope you like my earlier work.
For now, 5 halberdiers and 5 crossbowmen done.
I picked up the Archaon End Times book, so that will put a dent in the painting until I know what happens.
Fantastic stuff! The Wizards are great, especially the character in their faces, and the Harlie is epic too, especially the base (is it still a base when it has more mass than the mini itself? )
MFA - yeah, I thought about that for a sec and then didn't care. Too cool.
The stripes are pretty jank, but I think you get distracted from that pretty well.
I have a lot of wizards. They are just cool. I have 3 cannons and 9 or 10 wizards, and no Demigryph cav or Steam Tank. I am an odd duck in the Empire crowd..
I'm really liking those wizards. Poop wizard took me a little longer than I care to admit (I first thought it was snow)< but soon as I realized the bird was there it was awesome.
New harlie looks nice as well. Bit insane having a "base" that is bigger than the mini itself
So, I have a game scheduled on Thursday. I just made up a list.
6000ish points.
That should be fun.
I was hoping to have Karl Franz painted for it, but that won't happen. I need to paint up Valten on Horse, Luthor Huss, a stagecoach, and a few swordsmen.
No flagellants unfortunately. One cannon. Maybe two if I get one painted in time.
I'll hopefully have some pics taken. I'll do my usual half remembered rambling of a battle report.
I played a Storm of Magic game with a few friends Sunday just past. So much fun! Sure, we were stomped badly (LoC & Undead Legion vs. 2 elf players and empire). But it was great fun!
Here you can see all the pics of the setup. It was a really popular post on the store's Facebook and I stole the images, with manager's permission.
I don't know that I can totally remember all that happened. There was no time for note taking. The whole day was setup, battle, tear down.
Some highlights on my part were:
Singular cannon blows up. Forgot to assign my engineer to help, borrow a misfire die, explode on the first turn. Typical.
Bloodthirster charges elite Greatswordsmen. They fail Ld for Terror and run off the board with their 2 wizards and captain. Failed 3/4ths of all of my terror/fear checks in the game. Not cool.
Halberdiers take out both Belakor and the Bloodthirster(not singlehandedly). They were eventually ground into the mud and destroyed by two Giants and a Gorebeast Chariot. The giants were just impossible to take down. They one by one picked up every character in the unit and either stuffed them in a bag or threw them at the rest of the unit. The Halberdiers started with 50 models in the unit and were killed to a man. They never ran. Oi for the Second Besters! Oi! Oi! Oi!
Good first showing.
Celestial Wizard off by himself does nothing the WHOLE game, except get himself in the way of Archaon's sweeping advance, then gets obliterated. He fails to keep from overrun and goes off the board. That was nice.
Valten turns out to be a Chaos killing beast. Matt was rolling his eyes at his stats, so I said, "That's how I feel about every model in your army."
It's good to remember that you have hatred.
Archaon almost had Valten's number. It goes another turn and Valten dies pretty much.
Archaon cast the Shadow End Times spell 3 or 4 times, plucking up his Skullcrushers and plunking them behind or to the side of my whole army. My knights and militia in the middle were turned around backwards by turn 2. Not cool. It cost him though. The first time he cast it, he miscast and killed all but one of his Chaos Knights. Later in the game, I plunked the last one with a sniper shot from an Engineer.
I still love the End Times Metal spell. I had the Gold Wizard in the militia and dubbed them the "Golden Hobos." They took on 2 units of Chaos warriors, Nurgle and Slaanesh. They routed the Nurgle, who rallied, then slaughtered and ran down the Slaanesh about 2 turns later.
I somehow survived both of my flanks crumbling. It was definitely a game where another turn ends it for me, but I think I won. I think Matt thinks he won. I don't 100% care, because it was a seriously great throwdown. I know he took some post carnage photos. If I can get ahold of them I will post them.
It was one of those great games where all you can do is goob about what happened and talk up how awesome the rematch will be once you paint this or that.. I have GOT to get KFA done for next time. If only to have 24" bubble of Ld 10. I need my second BSB(yes, it's legal). I need to up the swordsmen to 40ish. Flaggelants, of course. And also, finish the IC knights for a 40 hoard.
Those are two massive armies! Looks like it would be a lot of fun.
If I were you, it might be worth putting a few pieces of terrain down, just to make the game a bit different. At the minute, it looks like you could just push everything forward as a line. At least with terrain you have to think about maneuvering around it.
Yeah, we discussed putting down terrain and decided against it mutually. For such a huge game under the circumstances I think we were lucky to get in a full 6 turn game. There was still a lot of maneuvering due to both of us being able to teleport whole units and him having flying units. Also, I was forced to do a lot of decision making as to where I would cast what spells as I was so heavily invested in Wizards. My average, unbuffed troops can't beat his, but if I augment mine or hex his, the playing field gets leveled. So, that made it so that my battle line's strength fluctuated depending on the turn.
Next time, I will spend the 5 points to get the Gleaming Pendant for the Greatswords to give them a reroll on their first failed Ld test.
@GiraffeX- It was nice that it was fully painted. I come from the old school on playing in a GW store and just feel wrong putting anything on the board in there without a paintjob. The Luthor Huss and Valten got done night before.
@angelofvengeance- My cannon blows up everytime. Always. Usually first shot. The one time it didn't I rolled a 1 to wound and then it blew up. My opponent cracked up. Not to be mean, but just because it always, always happens.

I'm the same as well, goblin green bases for the win
I've had him for a long time now. I felt I absolutely needed to get him painted. KFA as people call him, is absolutely the best beat stick ever. I got tired of painting him halfway through and just did it to finish it. It's not awful. Better than some can manage, I guess, but I still know I could do better. Oh well, now I can have him in my games.
So, I have to leave for work tomorrow morning in about 4 hours.
That sucks, so please appreciate this.
Some of you may know that I work in management at a movie theater. Tonight I did a quality control screening of Mad Max: Fury Road.
I will not give away any details. I am pretty sure that I am not allowed, though you can read reviews from critics, watch multiple trailers, and see many featurettes and interviews regarding the show.
So, I will just tell you how I felt about it.
It was so amazing I teared up. It was gobsmackingly smashiferous, poignantly plosive, daredevilly divine, and evocatively eviscerastic. Go to hell, spellcheck, for I am forced to invent new words to describe it. You have heard and read the uselessly trite adjectives slapped on to garbage puked onto 1s and 0s and j**ked off onto silver screens before, but this movie is actually those things. It is monumental. It is jaw dropping. It is a roller-coaster ride. It's a roller coaster ride with a mad man hanging onto the side of your car, cackling madly and trying to shoot you in the face while the whole thing threatens to go off the rails and a metal band sets fire to the fat lady singing.
GO SEE THIS MOVIE!
GO!!!
I need to invent a more potent punctuation than an exclamation point to punctuate that sentence.
If you miss this movie in theaters you will regret it. Guaranteed. If you watch it on some puny television in the privacy of you home or god forbid some asinine device, you will have failed.
Do not do that. Go to the theater. See it as soon as you can. Watch it with your fellow gamer buds, because this is the business. This is what over a century of cinema has been building up to for adrenaline junkie, scifi hound, wierdo nerds like us. This is the pinnacle of the mount of any radness you have ever witnessed.
I'm all over it. I was a sophomore in high school when saw the original Mad Max before anyone (in our area at least) had ever heard of it... it was just the second show of a double feature. My buddy and I were blown away. Hope that happens again.
So you are saying it is a complete 180 from the trailers? It looks like, imo, a bastard love child between Zac Snyder and Michael Bay with a dash go Del Toro thrown in.
whalemusic360 wrote: So you are saying it is a complete 180 from the trailers? It looks like, imo, a bastard love child between Zac Snyder and Michael Bay with a dash go Del Toro thrown in.
Well, if that's what you got from the trailers, then there is no hope for you.
But, in short, no. It is not what you are describing.
Nothing like that.
Not at all.
Automatically Appended Next Post: I will quote Matt Goldberg from Collider.com, who I almost always hate reading because I think he actually hates movies, but he hits the nail on the head when he says, "Mad Max: Fury Road is the action movie we’ve forgotten to demand, or perhaps we never knew we could ask for."
It's just a movie.. Have a willing suspension of disbelief. After all Stallone played Hamlet iirc and Tom Cruise plays a spy.. not to mention that someone actually put up money to produce Glitter and Gilgi. So go see it and suspend my witty friend. Suspend!
I thought it was great.. Very much like the originals. The vehicles were so cool, All the apoc setting and characters were cool and spot on. War boys! all great. The only thing that put me off was the story wasn't about Max and more about Furiousa
I don't see it.. When you can remove what is supposed to be the Main character, and you still can do the story with two other central characters, Furiosia and warboy ' bob' then your not really focused on his arc. I thought the mad flashbacks were a good start but they really never drove his story other than to validate why he's called 'Mad'.
Still we agree a great apoc movie. ps.. buy more sniper rounds!
Just painted a Warhammer Giant. About to varnish 10 more thug swordsmen Reiklanders. Have another 8 or 9000 point WHFB game on Thursday at the store. Will try to get more pics this time.
Re: Max
Spoiler:
Also, you can't remove him from the story. He instigates the 3rd act.
They could have bought more rounds, but they didn't stop at the bullet farm remember?
He doesn't act as the main character perhaps, but he begins as a very passive want to survive anti-hero. His arc brings him into contact with hope and a glimmer of redemption. Plus, he does do a lot of the action, he just doesn't talk much. This works fine in a lot of movies - Eastwood did it quite a bit in his Man with No Name series.
Ice said that I had built it up too much for him. If I'm feeling up to it, I am going to watch it a 3rd time tonight.
....Just saw Mad Max. It was incredible!
I wasn't that bothered about seeing it, but I read your review and then a few others... Best £10 I've spend in the past week!
So, I showed some godawful pics of Karl Franz painted up a while back.
These are better pictures.
I did as well as I could do and actually finish it. I got pretty tired of painting it after a little while. It's so big and detailed.
Hope you guys like it. I played him in a game yesterday and he ran away. Didn't run off the board though. We played a 7000 point game and I lost or came close enough as to know that it was going to be a loss. My cannon actually fired. My first roll was, of course, a misfire, but the engineer reroll saved my bacon. My second shot went wildly too far. Then it got eaten by Dragon Ogres. Hmm...
Karl Franz Ascendant is just too ridiculous. He rules.
I enjoyed Cap 2 and GotG much more as far as action movies, both in the players involved in it and the action sequences. For pure drama, not that I warch a ton of it, but Gone Girl was much more engrossing. Something like Book of
Eli was more flushed in the same kind of setting.
Every death in Max elected zero response. Outside of Furiosa, I couldn't even tell you the names of anyone. If the movie hadn't been called Mad Max, I'm not sure I'd even know his. Bad guy was Joe something?

Really? Even the death of Nox? (that was the war boy that joined up with max and furiosa) Or Splendor, (the pregnant chick)
That being said, I can't say I disagree about your other points. Overall Guardians of the Galaxy is a better movie. I don't think it had better vehicular stunts though. I really enjoyed Mad Max, I wish he was more of the focus though. I think Mad Max is spectacular, and one of the best, in its only little post apocalypse setting and genre.
I also think Moonpie's post, once again, over hyped the movie. I think had Moonpie not said anything on dakka, I would have rated the movie even higher, because instead of me going in with low expectations and raising it above that. I went in thinking it was the best thing ever, and was slightly let down.
With that in mind, I still think everyone should see it. I still think it was fantastic, but there are certainly a lot of other movies that would surpass it as an overall cinematic experience.
I used GOLDEN Fluid Acrylics Iridescent Copper for the base of it. Their colors are starting to be some of my favorites. Usually Artsy paints aren't the right consistency, but the Fluid Acrylics they have are actually just about right.
I am going to pick up their Deep Gold when I next hit the art store.

Interesting ... It's great when we discover new materials and processes, especially when we serve well :-)
So, my girl got me Empire Demigryph Knights for my birthday. First thing I said was obviously, "Awesome!" The second thing was, "You went to see Matt at the GW store."
I am looking forward to thugging those things out!
moonpie wrote: So, I finish up, paint, prime and varnish a Skyweaver Harlequin jetbike. I take it to Ice's to show him. Guess what happens on the way home.
You finally see that WM's view on Mad Max was correct and that Harlequin was mocking you for it or...
You founded a new religion where all girlfriends must buy you models... or
You had a dream where Git's started a new modeling project and you hadn't posted on his blog yet...or ...
You had another dream where Ramos painted a Warlord titan....
You can't do an Allied detachment of Harlies. They have no HQs. I can do a list of them once I build the tank and the last Skyweaver. I can also do some of the formations.
Here are some more Wolves. I work a little rainbow in there.
I like the Space Wolves. I think it would be fun to work them in with that new Horus Heresy box set. I like my wolves to have parts from at least 3 kits on each of them, one of them not being a part of the Space Marine line.
Here is a look at the next two Skyweavers of the bunch:
You can see that I fiddled with them a bit. My last will be figuring out how to have one with the rider hanging off the back. This was a request from my girl, which is better than her typical response of benign disgust tempered with utter apathy. I feel I should reward that interest.
Don't hold your breath on any immediate updates. As Ice said, I am moving. I am not organized at all, so I'll have to spend a couple weeks just getting everything organized. I am looking forward to the new setting, but I hate moving. Hate it.
Ice mentioned that he might be interested in helping out with that. He loves organizing and being organized and all that jazz. I, apparently, like being a slapdash slob.
It'll be nice to have a decent place to be able to invite him and others over to. I've been skirting the edge of being the star on Hoarders and everything I own has a film of ash and tar on it, so it stinks and is dirty. Hopefully, having to brave the winter weather to grab a square will help me quit or at least cut down.
Maybe I'll make the table I wanted to have at this place. Who knows?
I hope that not too much gets broken, chipped or lost in the process.
I'll end with a psyker:
I appreciate the positive comments, kestral and Solar. It is nice to think that by almost totally not being uniform I am achieving a certain unity. Does anyone have spare Ogryn Flesh laying around? I think I used that on the gold, but I may have still been on my purple then green kick. For as good as my memory and color-matching skill is, I should take much better notes. But then it wouldn't be the moonpie slapdash way.
Is slapdash a thing that Brits say?
Speaking of Brits, my mom visited your islands a month ago and said she had a wonderful time, so thank you for your hospitality.
Though I don't play SW, I do paint them ( for someone named Yellowbeard ) and I find them to be very fun to paint. Their unique character and sculpts are different from my normal marines which helps with motivation. ( besides it puts painted figs on the table instead of grey plastic - always a better game that way)
I have yet to see anyone here play Harlies. If you guys do come to AC you should bring them and teach us primitives the error of our ways.
Yeah if I were to think what army Moonie would play/paint, Harlequins would be the only one that comes to mind. I like the conversion work mate, nice stuff.
I will second Gitsplittas comments from earlier. I think Moonpie has really out done himself with the Harlequins. I'd love to see him complete the bunch and have a playable force. I think the bases should be white, but I am very biased in that as you can imagine. One problem having an Ice Board, so few people base their models accordingly.
The only drugs I do these days are caffeine and nicotine, and that's how the harlequins were painted. The Space Wolves, particularly that Wolf Priest, though...
@whale: Or I could travel 10 blocks south and pick some up at Hobbytown. And get MCL...
Automatically Appended Next Post: So, the girl got me Betrayal at Calth. Yay!
My plans with it so far is to split it in thirds. 10 marines or so as Fools squad. 10 or so for Space Wolves btzbashing. And 10 as test models or fool arounds for Legions.
What 10 legions should I give painting a go?
I want to attempt a Blood Angel, a World Eater, a Death Guard, a Space Wolf, an Imperial Fist and a Night Lord for sure. What other legions should I make a painting attempt at?
Also, the Contemptor I have plans for as well. We may finally see a model for a certain fan favorite character from Ice's monster fluff thread...
I think Sons of Horus in the pale green would suit your quite pastelly style well. Or to go the other way, if you want to change your style up and go for something grittier, Iron Hands with metallic armour are great fun to paint.
I had some weather to prime and realized that I had loaned my last black primer to Ice, so I used my Corax White to prime some assassins. FLGS was selling the box at 25% off and the individual models had just come out costing more than the whole box so I got it while I could.
Pics are incoming as soon as Ice gets them to me I will post them.
I went a little unconventional. There was a certain movie I watched recently I used as inspiration. Right now the Callidus and Eversor are done. The Vindicaire and Cululex I will still have to do.
I also can only find about half my paints. That's still a whole lot of paint, but it sucks.
Looks great! Nice work! Looks almost like he's illuminated by the emergency lighting as he tears through an enemy base. Here's mine- Eversor assassin, Johann Schmidt...
Thanks, guys. I have the other 2 washed. Given I didn't have black primer, I have been throwing a wash of Nuln Oil on them first. They must be ruing the decision to name it that, given that Nuln was sunk into hole and demolished before being zapped into a speck of oblivion...
It's been cool so far. I need to come up with 2 more 40mm bases... but otherwise, cool. I'll let you know how the game is after all this is put together and I can sneak in a game.
The box is assembled in its entirety now. Might have picked up (formerly Hoeth) Loremaster as well.Got Ice a Duardin Unforged(aka Dwarf Dragon Slayer) in the hopes that he will paint it or perhaps the Dark Elf Corsair Captain whose doofy AoS name I do not know off of the top of my head and a half a second of research reveals is a Black Ark Fleetmaster.
Went with the severed head. As my girl, in her infinite wisdom, said, "It's a severed head. You have to go with the severed head."
And I was again reminded why I spend so much time with her so fondly.
Yeah. That was from an 8th Ed game. My guys are all on square bases and that isn't changing. That's just the best picture I have of all of it lined up and ready to go.
I will probably delve into the Silver Tower box next as that game rules. Before that I have to go ON VACATION!!
Inspired by Ice requisitioning my Empire *cough* "Free Peoples" troops, I was inspired to do an inventory.
I realize that inventorying may not be as exciting to y'all as it is to me, but what is a bl0rg if it isn't self-satisfying?
So, onto the inventory of the Peeps and friends (80%ish of this is painted btw):
Flagellants: 27 (almost entirely unpainted and in pieces)
General on Griffon: 2 (one former Karl Franz painted and one old metal one unbuilt)
Aleguzzler Giant: 1 (painted)
Miltia: 46 (painted)
Halberdiers: 42 (painted)
Heros of various sorts aka "generals" about 10 (50/50 painted unpainted or unbuilt)
Wizards: 16 (I think 5 or 6 painted)
Yes, 16 wizards... I have a problem...
Knights(these don't exist anymore per se, but some could be pistoliers as most have pistols or they could be used as "The Empire" legacy rules: 28ish (19 or so painted)
Pistoliers(including Kislevite Horse Archers, because if you argue against them as valid I know I don't want to play you): 9 all painted
Swordsmen(men at arms with clubs-aka "The Regulators": 35
Cannon: 4 including the one Ice has +1 MIA (2 painted if you count the one I need to find)
Volley Guns: 2 (unbuilt metal - shoot me...)
Engineers: 3 (1 painted)
Archers: 15ish I think, mostly painted except some not
Handgunners: 20 unpainted or unbuilt plus what Ice has which is 24, so 44 in total
Spearmen: 25 (unpainted)
Crossbowmen: 20
Outriders: 5 (painted)
Ogur or whatever is now Maneaters: 3 (2 painted)
Stagecoach: 1 painted (mostly for character and because I could-it weighs about 8 pounds)
Random legs: 27 (this is the play that I have to add troops without heading to the store-I have enough bits to make any of them anything.)
The goal I guess was to see what I could put on the field and what I would need more of. Part of the issue with transitioning a legacy WHFB army to AoS is that I can't count my unit fillers anymore. The Ogres, plus some little dioramas, random animals(pigs, dogs, bears) all helped to fill out my ranks. Also, the new rules really benefit my units being ridiculously huge. If I have 40 they hit on 2+ and it gets successively worse. So, I will really want to be able to hit 50 with my units.
I think I am going to stick with square basing as most of them are on it and it would leave me open to either 9th age(which I have not much interest in) or 8th edition, which though maligned got really fun in the End Times rules stuff.
And because "pics or it didn't happen" here is one of the 16 wizards.
Someone please give me a good recipe for red hair. I want this girl to be pale and have freckles and red hair and be a quintessential fiery lass.
nice .. tough seeing how difficult it is transferring your army to AoS. you still have time to switch to the all new dwarf army .. all you have to do is buy everything.
@goblinpaladin: Thanks for that. I'll have to deep dive on the paint to see if I have the colors. Ogryn Flesh could be sold at the same price as gold or saffron and I would pay.
@Git: I've been staring at that one for a while now. I was hoping that by painting her as a freckled redhead it would help deflect the "elfness" or I guess now "aelfness".
@Solar: Right. Buy it, build it, paint it....
Also now, stripping metal models.. It's been a minute. Simple Green?
After several experiments I have painted a Fish and taken a pic. Yay!
I don't know why it looks like total garbage...
I took a pic of the setup I use if only for the lulz. I put my lime green iPhone in my girl's pink selfie stick(this being the first use it has seen) and clamped it with a dice box as a spacer. I put up a white board behind it and positioned it on the white styrofoam container with our garlic bread from tonight. I used the basic iPhone camera app, so I think that I will have to download a better app to be able to control the F-stop and what not and maybe actually get it to focus...
I had fun painting this guy. Many fiddly bits. His arm fell off once and that ed me off.
The basic color scheme is Dark Reaper and Jokaero Orange. I am hoping it works. I think the theory is there - dark blue/light orange. Whether reality matches that...
I sort of faked it with the ropes and such. My highlighting/brush control chops are trash.
@Solar - I couldn't win a Crystal Meth brush, brother...
@Whale - Negative waves, Moriarty!
@Ramos - Yeah, man. I would totally dig getting a game in. I actually have a can of matte varnish for you. It is by Golden Acrylics. It is Archival Quality nonsense. Smells like hell. It is M A T T E matte. I tried it out on one of my minis and it made it looks like hot garbage, but I bet if you put it on something that looked good then it would look good. I won't say how much I spent on it, but it is yours. It's Krylon not entirely matte for me. I actually sprayed this one with the Cystal Coat gloss varnish first because I had to fix like 7 spots where paint flaked off. Over that. I was hoping that you would be at Gen Con.
I went with a "sand" base. I tried to get it closer to a beach than a desert, so...whiter sand? I am going to put some static grass down to break it up some.
I would kind of like to do a board up with it being sand like a beach and the lines being maybe black rocks? I haven't totally figured that part out.
Also, Ramos, have you played with their new rules they are testing on setup? Basics of it are you set up 2 of your dudes on each of the three major lines at least 3" away from opponent. Seems like it could limit the first round grab . Might be useful.
Second also, Ramos, maybe bring your pinning kit for when my whole team falls apart...
Thanks for checking it out, guys!
Hope you dig it. Comments on colour scheme would be great before I do the whole team and it looks garbage. If you find a mold line(and you will) just go ahead and keep it to yourself.
Color scheme looks great. nice and eye catching! That orange is just bright enough to pop without being gaudy.
Maybe another layer on the blue? Just to push it that little bit more.
Base is looking beach, sure enough... Maybe on somke of the larger ones, incorporate a bit of water effects to sell it as beachside? Little shells and whatever if ya can find em!
Sounds interesting on the Matte spray- Ill happily give it a try! Super appreciate that
Ill be working with Panda Cult Games most of the weekends demoing Wander, but should have plenty of free time to do gaming! Just lemme know when works for you! I know Ice was texting me about dinner at a local joint one of the nights...
Havent tried the alternate setup yet. Dont get to play as much as I used to these days, what with the 9-5 job and everything else... Wouldnt mind giving it a try, though. Sounds like it would make things a little more tactical instead of "bunch up and run" like it tends towards now.
And understood. Ill bring the Mini-First aid kit!
@SL: I knooooow.... Ill have something finished by Adepticon... probably....
I think an issue might be that the orange is too close to the flesh color... so the orange/flesh get all muddled up together and you're not quite getting the contrast you were hoping for. Just a thought.
@Ramos - I appreciate the feedback. I'm getting some of the chops back, but I was not trusting myself to go too high on the highlights. And, like Solar said, that's kind of my thing, so I'm trying to play these guys a little different - a little closer to the vest.
@Gits - I think that similarity is more from the trash pic than what is reality. Also, this guy will be one of the few of the team with that skin tone. I am going to go with darker to much darker and then also like pale, pale. Part of the cool part of the game to me is that people from all over the world get together for a team. For some reason though all the Steamforged paintjobs for all their characters are whiteboys except one. Not going to be where I am taking mine.
@Solar - Thanks. The next few will be darker. I've been reading a lot of Black Panther comics lately and I am going to incorporate some of the cool design elements from those. Hopefully that goes well.
I'm going to try to get some work in tomorrow on my surprise day off. I have to travel this weekend to help run our drive-in up north.
Took some pictures of the Fish I painted and finally got sealed and based. They should be playable now and not pop a whole bunch of paint off all of the time.
The pictures are pretty trash, but the end result is as per the standard I was looking for: Done.
I agree with Gitsplitta. You killed it on the Otter. For some reason all the other guys seem to be shouting about food, in my mind. The big dude I keep hearing, "Oi! Wheres my sandwich?!" And the other guy with his fingers in the air, "Two orders of chips mate"
Thanks for the otter love, guys. It is much appreciated. It's only a little disappointing because I spent less than 20 minutes painting it. The steamforged official scheme is like blue or gray or something but that's more artistic license than I was willing to take.
@Knightley - right!?! I've wanted multi part plastic gangs for 2 decades now. I'm trawling for rumors about every hour. I'm going to make sure to thank everyone at the gw/fw booth this weekend at gen con.
I was going to complain (it's my thing, deal with it) about the bases looking like sand. Then I realized that was the point. Look good, and always interesting to see dude painted up in skin tones other then "we're all white".
Yeah. I get it they're British but aren't there not white people there too? No way that big dude is white. Heck they didn't even paint their otter brown...
So, Necromunda is out and I can't be bothered to talk, think, or do anything not related to that.
Necromunda has always been my favorite, so I broke my hobby hiatus to dive in.
Without further ado....
Pics or it didn't happen:
What you are looking at is the bulkheads and barricades or whatever. Also, my stacks of random hobby crap in the background. Luckily, I don't think I snuck any undies in the pic.
I used Liquitex for the most part. It's black undercoat, silver, then a wash of carbon black acrylic ink mixed with glaze medium and water and flow aid. I did black, then burnt sienna, then burnt umber. In there I mixed in some Golden texture stuff that I won't use for that purpose again.
The flow aid is supposed to break the surface tension of the paint, but it seems to bubble up like soap. This would obviously be the exact opposite of what I want it to do. It may just have been the way I applied it - aka with a big fat crappy chip brush. I ended up blowing on it to try to break up the bubbles, but it wasn't perfect.
I'm not totally pleased with the result, but I'm not totally unhappy either. It looks like it has years of nasty on it and started to give me an idea of what could and could not work with large scale weathering.
Putting together a serious looking 3D Necromunda board is for sure the hobby project that is consuming my thoughts right now. It has always been at the back of my mind. Like, if I have ever had an ABC prioritization of projects, then Necromunda Board has lived at B or C for about 20 years now.
Also, I have to paint up the gangs. I built them to the book, so I could learn the models and learn/teach the game with the provided cards from the box.
Getting a campaign going has me super fired up. I'm hoping that Ice or I could arbitrate something. We are planning to play on Tuesday night.
On the subject of Ice, I snapped a pic of us doing some painting the other day. You'll notice in this picture that Ice is using the palette that I bought for him to hold his paint bottles...not the paint he is using mind. Where is that eyeroll orkmoji?
All of these are just smart phone images.
The bulkheads have a gloss finish to them now, I am about to kill that with some matte varnish very soon.
First of all, I had just used the palette to carry my paints down stairs. You can easily see paint on that page of palette, thank you very much.
Second, I love how technical you have become with your painting. Its a whole new level of grime you're creating. Its awesome. I need to grab a better picture of the sigmar cabin you did.
@Ice-Can't give up an opportunity to give you crap, can I? As to the grime, I was thinking, is it too grimy? Then I thought, Is that possible?
@whale and gits- I appreciate you guys making this about Ice. Thanks.
Can I just not go to work today? Can I just keep watching BSG and assume that everything will be fine? It's like the last decent day this week go spray outside and I'll be writing a showclock for the least busy week of the year...
I was jumping on the make fun of Ice bandwagon that you started. Give me some more gooder pics of your bulkheads and I will find something to give you crap about too.
Lol, your face in the last pic is great. I can almost hear the "How the hell do I get good lighting, hold this thing still and take a picture that isn't blurry?"
