Been working on some extra bits to add on the bottom of my building design. Note that these bits could be added anywhere else a well. These are just the first three designs, I've currently got about 15 such parts done (vent systems, cogitators, libraries, etc) and will most likely do a whole bunch more of them.

My first building just got released!

Alpha Hab Tower

The Alpha Hab Tower is designed for 6mm/8mm gaming, but it could probably be upscaled for 10mm and 15mm scaled gaming as well. This makes the Alpha Hab Tower suitable for games such as Adeptus Titanicus, Dropzone Commander, or Battletech.

The kit consists of the following parts:
- 3 types of entrances (all windows, single row of balconies, double row of balconies)
- 3 types of back walls (all windows, single row of balconies, double row of balconies)
- 3 types of side walls (all windows, single row of balconies, double row of balconies)
- 2 types of roofs
- 7 types of balconies

Please do no share or sell these files (including prints and remixes) without my written permission.

Just lovely work, Malika!!!

One question - Do you usually anticipate these being printed on an FDM printer, or a liquid resin printer such as SLA? If the latter, do you intend them to be printed with or without supports?

Too much sanity may be madness - digital world building  @ 2021/12/29 15:02:18

Post by: Malika2

Good questions! I've noticed that resin printers bring in better results. I know that the walls of the Alpha Hab Tower when put together can be printed without supports. Not sure about the roof.

As for the tech shanties, I think they might need some supports.

As is, the roof needs supports in both fdm and resin, but it could be reworked to allow it (or a new one could be designed)

SMALLSCALE PREFAB UNIT (SONONIS PATTERN)

The Sononis pattern prefab unit is widely used throughout the colonies either as a storage unit or a cheap alternative for housing. The design itself is very ancient, based on the old prefabricated steel structures developed by the military engineer known as the son of Nis.

The kit is now available on my Cults3d shop (link in bio) and contains the following parts:
-single structure
-10 different door options

So a while back I partook in a Lego contest for Fringe Drifters an upcoming indie scifi cinematic universe by the same guys who did the 2018 indie scifi film Prospect starring the ultimate scifi father figure Pedro Pascal (check the trailer here).

Whilst I didn't win (getting your ship featured in the movie), the ship's design did grow on me...so I've decided to make a 3d printable version of it.

To give you a sense of scale, here's the ship standing next to a 32mm tall human model:

And of course I need to work on the details...

the concept and models are sound (though I wondered how air-borne the sky-rays would feel without some form of drone style rotary blades (perhaps a one each side in a circular fairing. I might, also, suggest, the cool doom wheel design include some relatable way for it to 'see' its victims: perhaps separate tentacles with optical sensors or a gyroscopically stabilized 'head' of sorts stemming from the non rotating wheel center and resting on top like a mud guard. I can imagine a game system for this based around the human survivors being tasked to emerge at a surface location and successfully locate and extract some form of resource before too many of the robots arrive from off map

Finally got my 32mm bases ready!

STL's here: https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/game/32mm-round-bases-for-6mm-8mm-miniatures-tech-shanty-texture

Designed for various scifi 6mm / 8mm scaled tabletop wargames, these bases are perfect for mounting cavalry, light vehicles, or objectives.

Not counting the many details, these bases are about 2.25mm thick.

This kit contains the following parts:
- 10x 32mm diameter round bases
- 10x 32mm diameter round bases with 4x holes of 6.10mm
- 40x 5.80mm diameter inserts for holes in the bases (texture matching the base)
- 40x 5.80mm diameter inserts for holes in the bases (matching texture + additional details bits on top)

- 4 entrance components
- 7 level components
- 7 roof components

Alpha Hab Block One:

The Alpha Hab Block One is designed for 6mm/8mm gaming, but it could probably be upscaled for 10mm and 15mm scaled gaming as well. This makes the Alpha Hab Tower suitable for games such as Adeptus Titanicus, Dropzone Commander, or Battletech.

The kit contains both single piece as two piece (separate roof) versions of the building.
- 4 single piece Alpha Hab Block One (which each of the 4 roof types)
- 4 separate roofs
- walls put together as a single piece

The dimensions of the buildings are 62.4mm deep and 66.8mm wide. The heights vary (depending on the roof type), but the "walkable" part of the roof is 67.6mm tall.

Note that the final picture with the infantry base only shows how 25mm round based infantry look on and next to the building. Infantry and bases are not included in this kit.

- 3 single piece Alpha Hab Block Two (which each of the 3 roof types)
- 3 separate roofs
- walls put together as a single piece

The dimensions of the buildings are 77.64mm deep and 65.67mm wide. The heights vary (depending on the roof type), but the "walkable" part of the roof is 83.12mm tall.

That's very cool... though that one structure looks awfully ladder-like. Is that the intention? That would make this more of a personal ship?

Too much sanity may be madness - digital world building  @ 2024/05/18 18:44:16

Post by: Malika2

It is a ladder, this ship is meant to carry a crew of max. 3, it’s a bit more hard scifi / nasapunk / cassette futurism influenced rather than my usual grimdark stuff.

Too much sanity may be madness - digital world building  @ 2024/05/24 10:20:45

Post by: Malika2

Started working on the 'interior' of the main ship, still needs quite some work. But you're getting the idea. Also added some extra details on the main ship's super structure. Don't wanna put too much detailing on there since I want folks to be able to add all sorts of funky markings on it. And, the landing pod has gotten some additional side thrusters. The crudely kitbashed 54mm tall Drifters are just added for scaling purposes. I'm already pondering a bit about landing gears for the pod.

It's meant to be a 'sardine can' styled ship for Scabz. The finished model is available here.

Been working on some infantry:

Note that the plan is for each of the above model to come both with and without the jump pack. Thing is that there aren't any Skitarii in the Mechanicum list (yet), but they do appear in the HH literature (and cardgame). These fellas are about 9.5mm tall, making them about the size of a Space Marine. Guess you could use them as count as Space Marine allies in a Mechanicum army (either as Assault Squads or Plasma Gun Support Squads)

Dave from Mighty Minis UK 3d printed my Tobari Battleship design! The printed versions should be available over there soon, in the meanwhile you can get the STL on Cults3d: https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/game/tobari-battleship

I love that style of jump pack.
