I would like to have a proper wargame set in the D&D Forgotten Realms world. Not that crappy skirmish game with the horrible pre-painted miniatures. The closest they ever came to a true D&D wargame was Battlesystem, which was pretty good, but one that was more along the lines of Warhammer in its level of detail would be awesome.

I'ld like to see a 40k scale game in both the Star Wars. Halo and Mass Effect universes. I would also like to see Gothic scale games for those three as well as Star Trek.
I really miss not having some kind of apt way to simulate ship combat, I love tactical maneuver when it comes to 3D naval battles.
Miniature wise I really want Star Wars Clone Wars. I want to have a Clone Trooper army that inserts via LAATs and then proceeds to feth up everyones day.

Dynasty Warriors/Three Kingdoms era, a 28mm skirmish game set on this period of History would have me very busy for a long time to come.
World of Darkness, seperate lines but with rules that allowed them to be combined. Vampire the Masquerade, Werewolf the Apocalypse etc.
Although if I'm honest I'd be mostly playing BSD's v's the Garou pack I know Aurelia would have, with my side having the odd occasional Nexus Crawler appearance.

Requia wrote:Or redo the minis in the book style instead of the movie style.
Uh, actually they did do a large amount of the minis in the style of neither of those influences.
They based most of the original line-up of models off the "Roughnecks: Starship Trooper Chronicles", the animated series done by Paul Verhoeven(which actually was pretty dang good, for what it was).
Then, they released two expansions which introduced the 'book' versions(the Power Armour list was pretty danged nice for that matter. If I remember right it was Cougar and Grizzly Power Armour) and the 'movie' versions.
It effectively gave the Mobile Infantry three separate iterations: the movie infantry were the 'Light Infantry', the animated series infantry were 'Medium Infantry' and the book iteration of Power Armour were the 'Heavy Infantry'.
It always saddened me that a large amount of the LI+ HI never got released, or at least general release enough that I could have found them and got them in bulk

Hmm, the grizzly isn't bad , can't find pics of the cougar. I thought the marauder was the only power armor they put out.

Harlequin did a pretty good range of them too, the quality was a bit off occasionally though. The Citadel ones were closer to a real 28mm so look quite small by comparison.

Another must for me would be scale, or at least a reasonable attempt at it. Things like Megatron in gun mode might be hard to keep in scale. What I dont want to see is a Bumblebee as tall as Megatron and Prime in robot mode, or Prime as small as Bumblebee in vehicle mode.

I've never been a fan of the homebrew rulesets or the figures I've seen for Dr. Who. It's not at the top of my list, partially because I just don't think the universe screams "wargame."
A sci-fi show I would love to see as a skirmish-level game, though, that hasn't been mentioned yet is Farscape. Plenty of named heroes and villains, as well as multiple races with hordes of nameless grunts, so I could see it scaling up reasonably well (you could pad your kickass group of 5 characters with a squad or two of cheap goons, but must consider the benefit of force of numbers versus quality of troops when list-building).
Brutal Legend could potentially make a pretty badass tabletop game, as well. I mean, there was already more or less a real-time implementation of a wargame present in the form of Stage Battles. A few different armies/races to choose from, a general used both to attack, (de)buff, and issue orders, a set battlefield size with intervening terrain and objective points (fan geysers) to capture and hold, opposing bases (stages) from which to launch attacks and to serve as the ultimate objectives... Most of the conceptual work is done for you, really, and the art style would translate incredibly well, I think.

A line of horror movie monsters in 28mm would be fun to paint. The Universal classics and some of the 80s slashers have already been done in 25mm unofficial versions but I think a dedicated quality line might sell well.

I'd like to see a Planetside Range, and a Tom Clancy range.
I think to most folks, Planetside minis would look like generic sci-fi stuff, but it'd have a huge nostalgia factor for me. A well supported range could be successful though, as overhead would be fairly small. Most of the kits would be usable by all three factions, differentiated mostly by paint job. Also terrain is already done, as all of the buildings in the game shared many common aspects.
By a "Tom Clancy" range, I mean a near-future warfare setting with elements from Splinter Cell, H.A.W.X., Rainbow Six, Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter and End War. Obviously his name would be attached to the game to give it some main stream credibility.

I'd love a good GI joe miniatures game. Not the new GI joe, but more along the lines of the 25th anniversary American hero joes. A little more realistic, like the comic book, not the cartoon. There is alot of great fluff and cool vehicles. Some of it is a little out there, but if you stayed with the core stuff and built from there it would be cool.

Yep, I want my own Iron Grenadiers to fight against GI JOE and Cobra!
Imagine the forums as the game progressed and more of the sub-factions/units were introduced. People could mock any Battleforce 2000 players, and praise anyone insane and talented enough to pull off a proper Python Patrol color scheme. Then if someone tried to proxy some Cobra LA figures the rage levels would be akin to those who model female Space Marine armies.
Oh it would be glorious.

Cobra fought cobra all the time, gi joe vs gi joe would be harder. You've got the dreadnoughts, october gaurd, iron grenadiers, cobrala, crimson guard. It would be sweet. Plus think of the cool 40k conversions you could build with the parts.

Indeed, I often thought some kind of LoTR system could have worked well for Star Wars (jedis/named character as 'heroes', rebels/empire as your basic troops), especially when the new movies were coming out. It could have been a spectacular money spinner, and I'm sure the models would have been beautiful.
But, the boat has left on that one now. I'm sure it would still do well, but it wouldn't create the mania that hit GW when LoTR went on sale.
I love some of the suggestions, but the problem is most of them are too 'skirmish' like. GW, in the process of sacking off it's specialist games range, isn't going to make anything that can be played with less than $400 of miniatures on the table.

War for Edath The art and lore is interesting although it seems to have slowed down. I do think they are trying to avoid making it a mini game and use cards instead. That said it could work similar to war machine where you can get minis and stuff - heck its working for mantic!

Bill must use Grima Wormtongue's special rules though. Down with Beel. Sookie's best special rule is "Summon Claudine"; upgrade is "Summon Niall". Eric can just roll for "Viking Power" ....I'm getting way too into this now.
Anyway, other IP. Shannara? Has this ever been done? I know it might arguably be "too generic" fantasy, and you could proxy just about everything in the original trilogy with existing miniatures/rules, but I'd like to see the characters and setting done properly. (Tiny Brin Ohmsford, do want) The last chunk of Elfstones of Shannara is a flat out pitched battle. "Defence of Arbolon" would be a cracking scenario: defending player gets other races as allies, and the main objective is to hold the Demons back enough turns for Amberle to reach the Ellcrys. Give the Demon side the Tyranids' old Without Number rule. Wishsong of Shannara could be a cracking Inquisitor-type game too.

It might work as an RPG, but how would you make that work as a miniatures game? I've never seen any of the endless use armies. They are metaphysical embodiments, what use do they have for armies? You can't really have Dream fight Death it wouldn't make sense. The endless are so powerful that direct confrontation is meaningless.

Would be the only way to go, and package them together.
Also...MUST be cartoon version, at least the first series of minis. If those sold well enough then they could try the Bayformers.
Im far from a major fan, but if somethings to be done a reasonable attempt should be made.

Would be cool because they did have ground forces, the problem is that you really couldn't use the Yamato as it suffers from Voltron syndrome* so what is the point then.
*Voltron syndrome is when the protagonists fight for a whole episode only to claim victory the same way the always do "Form blazing sword" begging the question why didn't they just form the blazing sword 10 minutes ago, I sat and watched this and now my breakfast cereal is soggy. In star blazers all they ever needed to do was shoot the wave motion gun.
