feth yeah.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Like 5 years ago, they were the guys playing before system of a down, They we'r boo-ed off the stage XD
I think that stuff rocks Albatross. have you ever heard the Black Rebel Motorcycle Club? If you like this kind of raw rock stuff, it would be right up your alley. Them and Royal Trux come to mind. Raw meat flavored rock is my favorite kind of music.
Automatically Appended Next Post: regarding getting booed off stage... that just shows that people are sheep. They like the crap they are shovelled by radio stations and eMpTyVee, and anything unfamiliar is treated like crap. I saw the Black Crowes get booed off stage back in '89 before their first video was out, when they were unknown and opening for Aerosmith. 6 months later the same jerk high school kids who were booing because they weren't Aerosmith were all prodly sporting their tie-dye black crowes T-shirts and proclaiming that they were so cool they saw the band before it was popular. Sometimes mobs of humans make me sick.
@Soladrin - The joke's on you. Because you like System Of A Down.
@Guitardian - Yeah, I loved their first album when it came out - not heard much by them since that. Are they still going? Perhaps you could point me in the right direction for some of their newer stuff? I was totally astounded to find out that their singer was in the Brian Jonestown Massacre as the guitarist for a while - have you seen 'Dig!'?. Awesome documentary.
Perhaps you might like The Dirtbombs... let's see:
You are my new favorite source for musical ideas. This sounds like some kind of Little Richard with a crazy cocain binge going on, while also really drunk, and surrounded by a backup band who all ate lots of acid and just keep jamming and jamming the same riff as they trip... the 'fadeout' at the end makes this image in my head even stronger. cheers. yeah I don't think BRMC has done anything in a minute, but so far as I know of they are still a band, not split up or anything, just not currently active.

okay that was seriously one of the most hillarious things I have ever heard. I really hope these guys don't take themselves too seriously, because it seems like a poster child for why parents should be very selective when considering buying their kid a guitar or a mic or a drumset. I can't believe that actually exists. I'm glad that it does because I was cracking up, but at the same time it made me very afraid.

Ah, so you see why I was listening to it then? I was wondering how long it would take. Sometimes, I just need a giggle, and this delivers with it's failings..

You thought it was funny that I posted Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster - I think it's funny that you like System Of A Down.
Because they are gak.
Anyway, this is what I am listening to right now:
Yeah, I know he's a young white lad from Scotland who sings like an old-age pensioner from the West-Indies, but well, this song is catchy as feth! Authenticity be damned!
boney-m ...the rasputin song. seriously one of the most absurd things EVER... but its so catchy. I dont know if the singers even know what the lyrics are because of language barrier, but they look very enthusiastic and some producer back in the day was probably laughing his arse off.

I just kind of hate all that... I'd rather listen to a baby screaming from hunger than deal with ska-reggae-white-boy cheese.... ech. please don't do that to me again.
okay I recind my point about horn sections being bad for rock after hearing the OK GO song with the marching band. I just watcheded it on youtube and I thought it was really beautiful. It's called 'this too shall pass'. Go horn section!

Clown music? Not sure I follow.... do you mean Ska? What's wrong with white blokes doing Ska? We were doing it pretty well over here in the UK (The Specials, Madness etc.) before a bunch of American bands ruined it for us! fething Mighty Mighty Bosstones.
spankers.
Yeah, the lad himself is a bit irritating, but if I didn't know it was him I think I wouldn't have a problem with that tune at all. Most of his other stuff is bollocks though.
P.s The whole 'race consciousness' thing is bit disturbing - can 'white boys' not play the blues? What about jazz? Rhythm and Blues? Can Black guys not play Country? Or Classical Music? I never had you pegged for that sort of fella... Weird. Perhaps I'm misreading you or something.
I am going through a serious Blur phase at the moment!
I love Graham Coxon's guitar-playing in this song, he plays guitar like... he's got something wrong with him. It's like he uses notes he shouldn't, but they still work - no one else plays like him, IMHO.
I am currently listening to Captain Beefheart's magnus opus: Trout Face Replica.
Which conveniently is my avatar.
It's so bad that it's so good. I can't really explain it, nor would I want to. It's pure awesome. I'm on my 3rd listen through. It's like a car crash. It's bad but you want more.
The Chaos Gate soundtrack. I can't believe i had forgotten all about it till the other day when i was sifting through some older files and refound it. That is soooooo epic!!
I heard steve Harris just passed away. That's 3 rock icons in 2 weeks... what on earth is going on? Time to go dig out the Maiden stash...

Most fething scary song i have ever heard.
SLAVE SCREAMS! yeah nobody can quite scream like good ol' trent. I wonder if he knew he was writing his own joke about his industry masters. Wicked good song though whether or not he knew its irony.
The album Destruction Unit by SAM. Saw them live at Kinetik 3.0 few weeks back, ordered the album from Russia as soon as I got back, and have been blown away all over again. That entire CD is nonstop stomp
By Hammerfall. It's about earth getting burned up and stuff and Saturn's moon Titan is humanity's final hope. And it sounds like actual metal instead of dragonforce crap (Except for through the fire and flames. I do actually like that song)
many of you will be familiar with Lisa Gerrard's voice in Gladiator etc. She's quite amazing, as is Brendan Perry, who always sounds like a matured Jim Morrison.
Currently listening to Porcupine Tree. Was introduced to them about a week ago, and I love them.
I only have In Absentia but I'll be getting their other stuff soon hopefully.
