I was on Ebay and spotted an OOP FW piece I hadn't seen before. This piqued my interest, so I tried to find a list of all the Forgeworld pieces that have gone OOP over the years, but couldn't seem to locate one. As such, it seems an eminently worthy thing to compile a list of, so I thought I'd ask all my friendly Dakkaites to mention all the OOP Forgeworld items that they can think of, ideally with pictures and the date they went OOP. Then I can edit them all into the first post for the sake of posterity/future reference.

Does Maximillian Weisemann, tank commander and infantry model count? He also had his own tank, but i'm not enough of a tread-lover to know if it's a regular Lucius Baneblade and you fit him or if it's a specific model. Edit: Should have a pointing stick on his tank ver. Guess someone was clumsy.

He came with the Lucius pattern Baneblade. I still have the turret of his tank and the official certificate that used to come with their super-heavies.

Ooh! Did he come with every Lucius by default, or you mean he could only be bought with one?
I have the tank torso, I really want the rest of the setup, knowing how common he is would be great so I can ear-mark some money for it.

Later on he came with every Lucius as a standard, but then again, those also came with Death Korps upgrade kits for free at that stage as well.

A lot of these items aren't needed anymore as GW has made them into plastic kits or made plastic kits very similar.
It's too bad about a lot of that terrain though. I'm sure if those Imperial Ruins were still available players would be buying them - I know I would.

Post by: Ketara
I've added Weisemann to the Imperial Guard section above. Funnily enough, I think I have a metal one of him lying around, I didn't know what it was until today though.
I'm deliberately not adding kits that have been made into plastic kits (Valkyrie, Hydra, etc), as the kit is still available, albeit in a different material.
Keep 'em coming!

I'd argue that the FW Hydra tank is different enough than the current GW plastic version to be listed above. The FW version did not have exposed crew manning the autocannons.

I'll be honest, I'm not sure there's much point in putting in the OOP FW stuff for ranges/games that are completely OOP.

For me personally, I think the original Lightning and the Tallarn stuff (especially the snipers) are the biggest loss. Wish I would have gotten them before they went the way of the dinosaur. It's also super unfortunate that so much of the Fantasy stuff is being discontinued so soon after its released. Which, while you're add it, you might as well add that fantastic Horned Rat from Forge World to the list, as it's gone as well.
P.S. The Forge World Trygon is missing too.

Funnily enough, this list has given me a real familiarity with OOP FW stuff just in the compiling. I've actually just spotted one of the items on Ebay. It's heavily coated in paint, and badly misnamed (and so will hopefully go for a song), but I plan to snaffle it and give it some love.

In addition to the Lucius Baneblade there were these other kits (all of them so much better than the plastic version):
Mars-pattern Baneblade:
Shadowsword:
Shadowsword interior detail kit:
Stormblade:
Stormsword:
Also, when the plastic Baneblade/Shadowsword kit was released FW made a conversion kit for it that brought the design back a bit closer to the original all-resin version (larger fuel drums, gun and engine section pushed backwards, etc). The Stormblade is still available, the Shadowsword and Stormsword are OOP:
Finally, a DKoK conversion for the conversion, adding the "hood" above the gun, air filters over the engine, etc:

Thanks for compiling this, such a sad read though! Was surprised and happy to see my Tallarn sentinel pop up.
So much good stuff is gone... With the ( IMO) not as good looking turret on the new Russ kit, I'd have been more interested in some of the alternatives. Not to mention the Griffon (was sad to see us get the silly Wyvern in plastic instead). I also prefer the original hydra and manticore to the plastic ones, and I always planned to get a destroyer tank hunter for my Tallarn... Oh well!
I'm actually not too bothered about the forge world Tallarns disappearing. I think it was a funny decision to tackle that range the way they did- Redesign the aesthetic fairly significantly by changing to a funny looking lasgun and adding a backpack, and by using the slightly smaller/more realistic FW scale... but then only provide the heavy weapon crews. Maybe they'd have sold better if they had redone the whole range instead. Still I'm glad they didn't because I still like the look of the metal Tallarns more than the FW ones!

Good luck on that one. Ravens show up now and then, but I have the one Razorwing I've seen in years on ebay.

the Sabre Defense platform is OOP as far as I can tell.

Sad, but I'm not surprised. The rules have been terrible for years, and I suspect those fragile track sections cost them a lot in replacement parts. Once the Omega went OOP I was wondering when the rest would follow.

And the bad thing is that I was planning on getting one from Forge World after the first of the year. But only because I like the design of the Macharius.
There is still the Heavy Tank and Vulcan. I might have to snatch up one of each before they get gone, and replacement tracks become unavailable if they are broken in the packaging.

I bitterly regret not getting Theodore Bruckner a few years ago, I wasn't hurting for money then, I don't know why I didn't get him then.

Saw that one coming. Good thing I bought another one (and another vulcan) when the vanquisher went OOP, it may have been the last one they ever sold.

Right. Gone through it, weeded out the dead links and updated with everything mentioned since my last post in here. Anyone got anything else that's freshly out of stock to add?

I doubt they are gone for good. Arvus is back, so it's most likely just a mold repair thing. Or a new mold.

I doubt the Macharius will be coming back. It sold too slowly due to bad rules and awkward casts.

This. The rules have been terrible for a long time, and the tracks are extremely prone to damage in shipping. The whole side of the tank is a single piece, with the tracks sculpted into it, and the edges of the tracks are very thin resin. So it doesn't take much to chip off pieces, at which point FW has to send out a replacement for a major component of the kit. Maybe that's worth it on a strong seller (like the latest space marine doors and shoulder pads), but on a kit that probably didn't sell all that much? I'm not surprised they decided it was more trouble than it was worth.

It's odd, but the Macharius Heavy Tank is back in stock. The Macharius Vanquisher is still gone, though.

It's gone again.
Weirdly, the Macharius Vulcan went "No Longer Available" for about 2 months and re-appeared.

Post by: Ketara
Not uncommon. Usually means they had one returned and replaced the faulty part, or (more likely) they found another few of them in the warehouse and reactivated the listing. Happens a lot.

I'm really disappointed about the Macharius no longer being available as I was planning to buy one next weekend, after I receive my wage on Friday.
I've written to Forgeworld to express my disappointment and inquired about the future availability of the model. If I receive a reply I might share it here afterwards.
I also expressed my disappointment that it was not put on a "last chance to buy" list.
They might change their mind if more members of the public write to them as I've just did, as that has worked before.

Received this answer today:
Thank you for your email. Unfortunately this kit is no longer available to order and it was removed from our web store once the last of the stock of it was sold. This does not necessarily mean they will never return but it won’t be available for the foreseeable future.
So that's not a definite "no". I guess that's something.
At least the Macharius Vulcan is still for sale, so I'm getting that, and although I'd rather have bought the battle cannon one first, the Vulcan was also on my wish list. Tbh. I'd probably be more interested in fielding the Vulcan over the standard Macharius anyway, as it brings something different to the table (and not just more battle cannons). It's a pity it's so unattractive.

About that, I've already ordered a Vulcan, like I said I would do a few posts earlier.
So yeah. We have this peculiar import law in Norway which causes any consumer goods at a combined value above of NOK 350 (approximately £32/€36/$44) to be subject to additional Norwegian VAT and handling charges. Anything FW sells at a smaller value than £27-28 should be purchased individually to avoid added taxes. The added VAT really isn't that bad, it's the handling charge which is annoyingly expensive (NOK 140 last time I checked) and the delay caused by that process. The free shipping you get with an order valued over £250 goes a long way to cover the VAT, and UPS is slightly cheaper and faster than the Norwegian postal service. So whenever I order large kits, each costing more than £28, it makes sense to bundle them together, to get the most out of the free shipping option.
And that's what I did, and I don't really have anything left on my wish list other than a standard Macharius.
If I just order just ONE Macharius tank, it would get really expensive for me. According to my calculations I would have to pay £18 for shipping and an additional NOK 378 in Norwegian VAT and another NOK 140 for handling, at total of NOK 518/ £48. In total, the one Macharius tank would cost me £186. Whereas, in a £250+ bundle I would only have to pay about £35 extra.

They likely found another couple in a box somewhere. It keeps fluctuating on and off, so I doubt they're remaking them (especially since they gave a negatory answer).
If it would help you though Zingraff, I'd be happy to take delivery of it here in the UK, strip off the identifying labels (to remove any way of ascertaining value), and repost it for you. I'm down past the post office quite frequently anyway, so if you cover the cost of shipping it out to you, it's no skin off my nose.

That's all right, I got it planned out. I was getting an Earthshaker carriage anyway, eventually. I wasn't planning on buying it just yet, but I can fit it in.

I don't know - the URL has changed so I think it may be getting put back into production. I suspect that, despite its rules, it's quite a popular model.

This might not belong here, but I thought I should report that I received my order yesterday (so that took 18 days, but then they did notify me that it might take a couple of days before the Macharius would ship). I guess the Macharius might have been "cast-to-order" or whatever the term is.
The Macharius Vulcan is flawless! FW has really made efforts on how they handle quality control and packaging, since last time I made any large orders from them. When I received my Crassus a couple of years ago, it was just a jumble of broken parts in a ziplock-bag, at the bottom of a cardboard box with hardly any packaging material. Every delicate part shattered by the massive slabs of resin that made out the body and tracks.
The Vulcan I got yesterday had all the slabs packed in a double layer of bubble wrap, and everything placed neatly in a sturdy white cardboard box covered in more bubble wrap, inside the shipping box, with more packaging material.
Seems to me that having to send out replacements for miscasts and broken parts, is going to happen a lot less now.

I suspect it will be back like all the other Macharius variants that temporarily disappeared. My most recent Macharius came in one of the new-style boxes instead of the older bag like the Crassus in the same order, and the page for the Macharius says "Macharius 2018" or similar in the address. It looks like what's happening is a repackaging and, because the inventory ID is different, the listing is disappearing while they make the switch.

It returns! The CRASSUS ARMOURED ASSAULT TRANSPORT rolls back into action Small bit of good news in contrast to the disappearing Elysians and Solar Auxilia. JamesY also mentioned that the chaos militia may also be on the way out at some point - he correctly hinted at the demise of the Elysians.

Hello fellow Canadian, greetings from BC !!!
I heard no more metal Steel Legion the other day, now no more Forge World Elysians ?!?!? Not only is FW extremely profitable (for them) but it's not like Elysians were unpopular...
What's next, no more Vendetta upgrade kit, or no more Vulture?!

So to try and sum up (because there's a lot to add), it's all of the MK 2 standard stuff, all of the Legion-specific torsos bar the two Imperial Fists sets, all of the Elysian stuff, Ultramarine Invictarii heads, World Eaters heads, and generally any MK II or III that doesn't belong to a Legions set armour upgrade (so II shoulder pads for Iron Hands, or MK III ones for White Scars for example).
