Coming this Spring!

Dead Man's Hand: Plastic Gunfighters

This boxed set offers enough parts to build 10 gunfighters for Dead Man's Hand. Whether you are Lawmen or Outlaws, Desperados or Cowboys, the frames include a wide range of heads, arms, weapon options and equipment.

28mm sized plastic figures. RRP £15. Glue assembly required.

Please share the hell outta these. Once we sell loads, we'll get onto another plastic set!

Looks like a plastic 'verse is getting closer

Edit: here's an early review with some close ups of built minis from wargames illustrated https://www.wargamesillustrated.net/great-escape-games-dead-mans-hand-plastic-gunfighters/

I wonder if these are going to be Frostgrave sized or in a larger scale?

Frostgrave 28mm would make for some great steampunk conversions, especially with Stargrave bits about to be released.

Plenty of skirmish rules out there for westerns, hopefully they do some generic Native Americans and hopefully some F-Troop type soldiers

Sprue's a useful compliment to non-sprue miniatures in that you can select which weapons, poses, and even sides your miniatures will be, to flesh out your posse or build one. Frex, you need two masked bandits, one with a rifle, the other with dynamite. Well, this sprue has them. I think you can also have unarmed cowboys and maybe cowboys with their hands in the air. The set also comes with little tiny badges, so you know which side your miniatures on -- and you can use the badges on your other western miniatures as well. You could even glue a badge to a base to mark which side the miniature is on. GEG has single-pose metal miniatures, so one thought is to see which of their non-sprue miniatures suit your posse, and fill out the ranks with the sprue models.

Right

WGA Raumjager, Great Escape Games Gunfighter, Frostgrave Cultist, Stargrave Trooper, Maelstroms Edge Broken, Great Escape Games Gunfighter, GW Genestealer Cultist

so size wise they fit right in, perhaps a touch less bulky than Stargrave & WGA

trying the stargrave arms on them they work but you'll need to trim round the edges to get a good fit (may work better with GW GSC arms, from the look of it but I don't have any of those spare to try)

Got a preview sprue, and painted up the heads. You get 11 heads, five top body halves, and five bottom body halves, per sprue, and two sprues per box (?). So that means you can have eleven unique heads, and ten bodies to put 'em on...

Some desperadoes or bandits would be a perfect foil to this box.

Happy with mine as well. I'm sure they'll end up online in the next week or so.

The desperado's rope can be swapped with dynamite (sticky tack), and I used a few bits for an objective marker.
Also, finally a gunfighter who's unarmed!

To be fair, it is hard to be a 'gun'fighter when you're unarmed. You're more of a fighter at that point.

I found the Japanese opening to Space Warrior Bismark and it is the most 80s thing ever filmed.

Good to know!

What I've found is that, while multipart kits obviously take more assembly time than monopose figures, they're better for "what you see is what you play" miniature gaming, as well as filling out your existing collection (eg. unarmed cowboys).

My review of their previous set: https://www.rpg.net/reviews/archive/18/18968.phtml

Some mini's I made, which I suspect are hard or uncommon to find: unarmed cowboy, cowboy with rope (the rope can be swapped with dynamite or other bits), western objective marker. IIRC, I made the heads swappable, so you can have a good guy or bad guy in a particular pose or loadout.

I am super excited to make a Quick and the Dead themed set..... who doesn't want a Sharon Stone gunfighter in their gang?

I might finally get into Fistful of Lead, Dead Man's Hand, Legend of the Old West, Gunfighter's Ball, Dracula's America, Shoot and Skedaddle, etc. There are a lot of great "Western" themed games on the market right now!

To keep on topic, in conclusion I don't think you can do a great Sabre Rider/Bismark force with Great Escape's gun fighters.

Good thing there are already metals then, eh? https://store.voltron.com/collections/saber-rider/products/saber-rider-metal-figurines

Wait. What? Show me a pic!

The male and female sprue have more heads than bodies, so I guess you can use the heads for swaps on other plastic models?

I've used the bits left over from the gunfighter kit on my wild west themed Ash Waste Regulators(enforcers) and Outland scum.

Really looking forward to the lady gunslingers and hope they have some civilians/townsfolk for my Tombstone diorama I originally got the fighters for.

I totally forgot that Peter Cullen (Optumis Prime) voiced their giant robot.

In my head canon Ramrod is just a rebuilt Optumis Prime after Transformers the Movie.

I'm glad it wasn't just me who saw those pictures and thought you used the extra heads to model a terrain piece of some guys taking a bath together in a barrel.

...I thought it was a barrel bath too.

I think it needs to be pointed out that there's chickens on the sprue.

CHICKENS.

How'd ya think it got hot???

I digress, chickens are a cool thing and wouldn't mind a small(sprue size) kit with a flock of chickens and a rooster. Oh and the obligatory fox & henhous.

Warlord makes a sprue of farm animals. It's also in the pipeline for Wargames Atlantic.

If they have the Fox and the hen, surely a pile of grain is necessary? Boat sold separately.

A good review. I agree that it would be nice to see a prospector set and a Mexican set up next.
