Just had to steal this idea from Bligth on Warseer, it was the only way I would ever get me an Eldar Titan.
Here's a few WIP pictures:
I hope you all agree that the proportions are better this way...

It is not one mans to steal from. Many people had the same idea. I had my own thread on this a couple of months back.
On Saturday I finally found my 12" art doll at a reasonable price and quality, in a backstreet art shop in Soho, just when I wasnt looking....

I was actually thinking of using wire clothes hanger for armature, carving main body bits out of foam with a hot knife, and using bondo or something to finish the body parts. PLastic card to finish.
But I have so many other projects going...

Have you glued the hip+legs+feet already? As I said over on warseer Id love a more dynamic pose. And the art dolls feet dont look too revenanty. Other than that Im loving this project. Very inspiring!

@ grizgrin: That may result in a better titan, but I imagine it would be harder.
@ xedric: Already glued I'm afraid, may have to breeak them up again though. BUt the ankles will stay how they are.
Here's a picture of how I tried to "improve" the feet...
@ Emsden: go ahead, but use a good modelling putty. Apoxie Sculpt has been recomended.
@ JD21290: Thanks. Actually decided to do this when I came over a cheap art doll on holiday this summer... Been thinking about it for a while though
At the moment I'm waiting for some Apoxie Sculpt I've ordered, the stuff I've been using is'nt very good. It cures in only 5-7 minutes, and is a bit "runny".
It's really a car body filler, not at all meant to sculpt with. Its easy to sand down though.

Tried to alter the pose, were not able to break up the joints in the legs though.
Tilted it a bit forward when I mounted it on a base, it helps a little on the static pose.
Most of the sculpted areas are not sanded down yet...
Still waiting for Apoxie...

The head and the chest after some apoxie work:
The hard parts now are jump jets, thrusters, shoulders and hip shields. All of them will have to be made in platicard. The weapons will also be made of plasticard(tubes), but that won't be hard to do.

Done some work on the launchers/jump jet mounts.
There's a bionicle head in there somewhere...

yeah i love how its turning out, give it that tall things that stick out at the shoulders deviating attention from the size of the head. but all in all, i love how the head turned up

Remade the fins for the back, and worked a bit on the rigth shoulder.
Need to paint up 300p of DA within today, for a tale of X gamers on Team Anarchy, so no more will be done today.

Got a shipment from my plasticard dealer, and were able to start on the pulsars. The apoxie rings is just the basis to start shapeing the pulsars.
Size wise, I personally think it will work great. Here is a comparison to my warhound, the " Fubar".

im now thinking about doing a striking scorpion apoc size army.
troops: all scorpions
heavy: wraithlords converted with mand. basters and claws with some more little things.
and im tempted to buy the titan to make a scorpion variant
