What are they for? Sounds like some sort of GW ranking system...Just for e-peen stroking?

They are GW's ranking system. Because there is no single event that determines the best player of the year in the US, we have a circuit of GT's and GW keeps track of the players performance at all the events over the course of the year.

it is basicly to show how toledo players are the best in the country. Then again they do live ohio so what else are they going to do.

What eva!

There are a lot of good players out there. The top players in the 40k Wreaking Crew, as well as a bunch of others are the equal of the Toledo guys.

They did good last year because you raked in points per each event you attended, and they attended a lot of events. Now that they take only the top 3 scores, good players who do not travel that much have a chance at them, (like Bill Kim, and Scott Simpson who lost last year because he did not go to adepticon).

Edit: I am not saying they are not good, most people do think they are the best group out there, but the're are others that can beat them. They are also the standard I use to see if you are a good player. That is why I want Stelek to play one of them at the LVGT. If he can beat one, then he is as good as he thinks he is.

@Blackmoor, I think they did well last year because they won the majority of the events. Mike di better than anyone last year and I believe Brad and Peter each won an event, correct?

True that. Maybe that is why I have spent the last month painting greenskins.

"Everyone knows that 'Orkz's are da best!'"

-Sadly true.

All in all, fact is that Warhammer 40K has never been as balanced as it is now, and codex releases have never been as interesting as they are now (new units and vehicles and tons of new special rules/strategies each release -- not just the same old crap with a few changes in statlines and points costs).

That list of yours was epic. It was even better that the modles came from 3+ different players thus had 3+ different paint schemes. It was truly a sight to behold.

A buddy of mine played you in the 3rd round with his Iron Warriors and walked away shellshocked.

I would make a statement that Blackmoor is more than capable of holding his own against the top tier players out there from what I've seen.

I have to agree that Blackmoor is one hell of a good player. most of what I know of 40K was learned from losing to him.

I am a Mormon gamer, and I lived in Utah for 5 years. The shame of me misspelling God’s Country is almost too much for me to bear.
