I'd say go for the Weirdboy, extra Grotz, and extra Burnas. Burnas and Grotz are both kinda delicate units, and reinforcing them might help when things go pear-shaped.

arnt weirdboyz abit dangerous instead of a warphead, for the instance of the 'ead banger result as you can kill your own boyz?

Why don't you take dread as troop choise? It may take objectives as troop choise.

id go for another dread without riggers as an extra troops choice.

I like your list, look very fun.

First, vehicles can never claim objectives so switching the dread in troop section would only free up a heavy support choice.

I would really consider giving the burnas and the mek a battlewagon but if you don't want one, that's your choice.

I think you should remove the rokkit from the sluggas as they won't use them enough to value their points. They will almost always be running or in combat, you could save 90 pts by removing them. 92+90 give you 182 pts to spend so I suggest 12 lootas for 180 pts.

hi Squig

i have been playtesting what builds i am gonna take in my ork army for a local turnament so far ive got two games at 1500pts

the lootas for me has been a big dissapointment might drop them and maybe try out your burna boys they sound awsome

as i got the koptas from that new box and ive used them i both of my games and they have been very good so far i run them with rokkits and buzz saw
which works wonders for me whether i use the outflanking or deploy them from the start

Hope is the first step on the road to dissapointment

Hi.
I think a Warphead/or Warboss should help you close with the enemy.(Footsloggers without the Waaagh! ability isnt very Orky IMO.What do you scream at you opponent if you dont WAAAGH!!!!!? )

What do you think of adding some Kommandoes?
A PowerKlaw Nob (or Boss Snikrot )and 2 Burnas in a mob of 15 Kommandoes , 12" from your opponent on turn 1 can give them problems.(If you want a Snakebite theme call the Kommandoes 'Huntaz' if you like .)

Or how about Stormboys in fast attack?(Its a shame PK didnt include Boar Boys in the Ork Codex.)

My limited experiance of Deff Kopters is run them as a unit of 1TL Big shoota to (contest objectives).Or 1x5 with TL Rokkitz to act as 'Armour Bustaz'.(Accompanied by 'Ride of the Valkieries' as they swoop on you opponents tanks and transports... )

I would be tempted to swap out a Slugga mob for a Shoota mob.Only put Rokkits with the Shoota Boys.(Sluggas should not stop and shoot IMO, But RUN all the way!WAAAAAAAAAGH!!!!!!!)

Just My 2p worth.

it do's not say anywhere in the dex that you need a warboos and if you look under your units in the dex it says they have the WAAAGH rule

If you're unwilling to make any CHANGES to your list, then I say to take the Warphead and add him to a unit of Boyz. When he gets stuck in combat, you'll have about a 50/50 chance at having a free Power Weapon... and that reroll of the power comes in BIG TIM handy.

If, however, you're willing to redo your list at all, I'd say to get some Trukks.

Yes. Of course, I'm kidding.

I do, however, echo the sentiment to drop the rokkits and ALSO get the unit of Tank Bustas. You'll have more bodies on the field AND a nice little shooting unit (sorta).

With the 92 points you have remaining plus the 90 from the rokkits, that'll give you 182 points to spend. You can buy the Warphead (85) and Tank Bustas (75) and have 22 points left over.

What can you add on for 22 points? Another Tank Busta & 2 Grots? A Burna Boy & 2 Grots?
Find 8 more points somewhere and you can have 2 Tank Bustas, 2 Burna Boyz or 1 of each.

Eric

I like your list. I might *YOINK* it.

Hi all.
Whoops , sorry folks.
I meant to type Warphead for the potential extra Waaagh! s.(Possibly Ghazkull Thrakka enhanced Waaagh might be worth it in a foot sloggas army?)

Apologies I am at a funny age....

it seems to be a toss up between the warphead and the warboss, what different builds of the warboss would be good? [92 point limit]

Deffkoptas all the way, in units of two if you can spare the KP's. With outflank/scout moves, and twin-linked rokkits, they are much more dependable to damage/kill tanks than the tankbustas, also they can move 24" to escape things/contest objectives, and to top it all off, they are cheaper than a viable tankbusta squad.

Also, tankbustas seem to attract a lot of fire. Something about all those rokkits...but to their credit, bomb squigs are AMAZING. they can target a seperate unit from the tankbustas, dont have to have los, dont test for terrain or anything and HIT ON 2's.

You could just take both

Lowinor wrote:Keep in mind, as far as the 8" range goes, you can pivot for free, so you can still get the full 8" by charging up, pivoting, and then firing the flamer.

- AFAIK, you can't take a shoota/skorcha and a KFF because one of them is already replacing the slugga. That leaves either PK or Burna. I'd go PK if you plan to join him to the burnas so that unit can do more against high T or vehicles.

- Deffkoptas are kinda better Big Shoota platforms than Kans. They're faster, got twin-link, can outflank, are scouts and are cheaper. If you wanna take Kans, use other weapons, like KMBs.

- Rear AV14 is gonna screw you over. Remove the Dread (which might as well die at turn 1) and use a Biker Warboss with PK, cybork and Attack Squig (150p). Or heck, just a PK Warboss with cybork (95p) and join him with sluggas.

- Dread = meh. Use those points to buff your Burna numbers, extra grots, better kan weapons, etc. He's gonna be a pile of rubble sooner than later.

I dont get why anyone would take grotz in 5th edtion esp if you have a kff? I mean everything gives you a desent cover save now, for

christ sake razor wire is a 6+. Squig_herder i dont know if you know this yet but orks are BEAST in 5th and not taking any transports

your really holding yourself back. As for the deathkoptaz i lost in my local ard boyz beacause of those things and i was mech tau.

Outflanking is worth its weight in gold. There is a 66% chance you come in on the board edge you want and you can contest those

objectives that people like to put WAAAAAAY back in their dz.

I know that transports are good and all that, providing cover and a fast option for your boyz but thats not my style, if i go ahead with a black templar project then im going transports all the way but for my orks i think that evil sunz and speed freaks ned transport but for snikebites or goffs that we can leave them at home, saves points.

i took grotz for 2 reasons, bs 3 when no1 notices them can still hurt and they can hold objects for next to no points.

im going to remove all "heavy" weapons from me boyz [eg rokkits/big shootas] and am going the warp head and 2 gretchen.

Now it's a toos up between koptas with buzzsaws or kommandoes.

Any advice?
