Alright Lady and Gentlemen, I am giving you fair warning to get ready to come to Biloxi, MS in March!!!!

March 20th - 22nd, the 32nd annual CoastCon takes place, and they asked me to give them a weekend of gaming....and boy are we going to deliver!!!!

Check it out, here is how the all three days stand at the moment, but times and events are subject to change.

Fri. March 20th.
Doors open at noon.
Noon until 7:45 - Open Gaming, Learn to Play Gaming, Painting Discussions/Tips, and generally anything anyone wants to do on the 30 tables that will be in residence!!!
8:00 until.....doors close at 2 am - APOCOLYPSE!!!! As many people as we can get around said 30 tables mushed together, 3000 pts per!!!! Mardi Gras style prizes!!!!

Sat. March 21st.
Doors open at 9:00
9:00-10:00 - Registration for Warhammer 40k Tournament, 2000pts, RTT rules(mostly)

1:00-3:00 - Round 2
3:30-5:30 - Round 3
6:00 - Awards (We will have 60 places available, and based on how much they charge us for a Vendor Booth, depends on how much the entry fee is, but look for it to be low to nil.)(Not sure if it is going to be first come/first playing, or if there will be a pre-reg involved)
6:00-7:45 - open gaming....if you can before....
8:00 - Warhammer Fantasy Big game!! Bring your fantasy armies and help my Dark Elves crush some Dwarves that have been plauging them for years...or if you are so inclined, and "good" help the Dwarves stave of my DE's unwanted advances!! 3000-4000pts a person

Sun. March 22nd
Doors open at 9:00
9:00-10:00 - Registration for Warhammer Fantasy Tournament, 2500pts, RTT rules(mostly)
10:00-12:00 - Round 1
12:30-2:30 - Round 2
3:00-5:00 - Round 3
As close at the end of that as possible - Awards, as the place is closing soon.

I know that if you are interested, until January there are special rates on some hotels in the Biloxi area, but after that the prices will skyrocket as on the same weekend there is a Cheerleading convention in the area....mmmmm....cheeleaders....oh, what was I saying......I want all that can to come, and I would LOVE to see a strong Dakka showing, so you guys in Texas...this aint that far...Florida, same thing....Australia...HEY, We're in the south TOO!!!!.....and ALL you UK guys, we are actually only a couple hours from Birmingham...(oh, thats BirmingHAM, not Birmingum....my bad).

Let me know if you're interested, and if you are then post or PM....and if you actually are coming from far away, and even if it is a First Come sign up....I know the guy runnin it...I'll get ya in.

We also have a non-confirmed possibility of having someone from GW attend this, especially if we can tell them we are going to have a full 60 players!!!

Thanks for reading

PS I am going to Threadomance this thing once a week if noone posts, just to keep in everyones memory....Fair Warning!!

Peace,
JD aka JediRaptor

I guess sleep will be coming at a premium during Coast Con. I guess the Necrons have been asleep long enough.

When convention and science offer us no answers, might we not finally turn to the fantastic as a plausibility?

Why so late on Sunday? Coast Con is dead by noon on Sunday.

If I were you I would be on them about posting this on the website. The hotel situation is dire by January

Well, there really isn't any other time for it, I would hate to hold it on Friday when there might be people that can't attend because of work. And even in the rest of the con is dead, I hope that the gamers will still be going strong. I have submitted everything to the Website, but that is the extent of my influence...

I did not see the entry fee, did I miss it?

At the moment it looks like getting into the Con is going to be enough of a fee to get you into the tournament, if there is an additional fee, it won't be more than 5 dollars. Check out CoastCons site to find out how much their tickets are. The only problem I can forsee is that because there is no inside fee....its going to be first come first serve....so get there early.

We'll make sure those that show up get to play, even if that morning I have to go buy more boards and use two litres and toilet paper rolls for terrain

Hey is there any new news like advanced sign up or fees? Did GW comit? I havnt seen them advertise yet....

No real advanced sign up, but if you are going to be there for certain, send me an email, please put CoastCon in the subject line so I don't just junk it.
I don't think GW even put us in the White Dwarf, which is the second time in a row they haven't shown us the love...(and yes I submitted everything on time). So this might end up being "A Not So Rogue Tournament II"
As for fees, the entry to the con should get you the ability to sign up, but as I said, email me, and I'll make sure that if you're coming and I know it, you're playing.

email is jediraptor@hotmail.com

Alrighty everyone....This is the week of the COASTCON!!

Everything appears to be shaping up pretty well, and I just wanted to remind everyone of a few things, and answer any last minute questions.

I'll be there pretty much for the duration, open to close Friday, Saturday and Sunday. We will have an APOC game Friday night at 8, 3000 pts per, and as many as we can get around all the tables. Saturday I'll start registration for the 40k tourney at open, 9am, with first shots fired promptly at 10. This is a 2000 pt RTT style tourney. That evening will be a big Fantasy game...as far as I'm concerned, bring what you can/want. Sunday morning reg will begin again at 9 for the WFB tourney. I don't think there is going to be as many players as there will for the 40k one, so with the left over tables, we can decide then on another APOC game, or just get in some one on ones with people you haven't played in a while, or ever. It'll be up to you guys. I hope everyone has a good time, and I'll be posting some pics here, or in a different thread either Sunday night or on Monday. Thanks to everyone who has shown interest and is excited about this as I am!!

JediRaptor, I had an amazing time, and I'm happy my first tournament was a welcome and fun experience. You did a great job running the tournament and the storyline angle was awesome. Looking foreward to the next tournament your running, whenever that may be, and if you need any more cheep free labor to pack stuff up, I'm game again.

Alrighty then, here are some pictures of the vast fun we had at the CoastCon last weekend...

First up some shots of the APOC game...

....ahem.....apparently the new Stompa's armor causes Vortex Grenades to bounce.....

And now some pics of the Tourney, led off by the winners of the painting competition, Fisrt, Second and Third, and then a shot of the Best Apperance army. Congratulations go to the Salamanders, as their General won Best Overall, AND the coveted "Golden Cup of Paint Water"

Now for some shots of the day...

And finally a couple from the Fantasy games...

I have plenty more pics on Photobucket, so you can look at them there...same user name as here. I didn't want to break Dakka with a couple hundred pics in one post!!!
