This month I am actually going to paint something, so thought I'd put in a vow to keep me on it. I intend to finish my Sherman V Armoured Platoon (with Firefly) and I'll post some pics when it is completed. update: done

10 More AOBR Orks, plus a nob, big shoota (12 total) finished!
10 British Colonials from Wargames Factory finished!
AOBR kopta finished!
10 Venusians (Skinks) Finished!

Bonus Round: any odds and ends, including a piece of terrain, Battletech mechs and a 15mm Grenadier walker finished!

All goals met--still on for 1 model/day (with even a little cushion!).

Next up: try to finish the AOBR orks and get these dern B-tech figures done.

Finish 99 Orks by 1/16

So, uh, by finish you mean you've already started, right?

I have 77 AOBR Orks:

- 15 just need to have their straps basecoated and then they'll be ready for the wash.
- I finished washing 62 of them today. They're ready for the final skin highlights, teeth, eyes, arm bands, etc
- I had another 22 Orks already washed.

I need to get them done by the 16th, because on the 17th, Tyranids are back in the work queue. If I make my goal, I will have knocked out or finished off 223 figures (114 Tyranids and 108 Orks) in about 3 months. Woo hoo.

Make my CSM wip army legal.

ie at least 10 marines and a finished HQ slot.

Would prefer 20 marines w/ rhinos but we'll see about that!

Would also be nice to paint a tac squad from AOBR.
The GF said she would like to play a small game and I reckon I've got a better chance of getting her hooked if the models look OK! Wish me luck!

Ok, I think I need to start posting here to motivate myself, since I've hardly painted a thing in the past 6 months.

January vows:

1) repaint 10 IG jetbikes, paint 10 Tallarn RR riders for them and glue together.
2) paint the 4 Menoth jacks that have been on my desk for the last 6 months (Vanquisher, Redeemer, Devout and my second Revenger)

I think I'll start with that, to kind of ease into the whole painting thing again, but if I have time:
3) start painting 12 genestealers

EMERGENCY EDIT:
Just found out about a 500 Warmachine steamroller tourney on the 17th. Radical plan change:
1) Paint the Vanquisher.
2) Paint pSeverius, Vassal, Reclaimer solo
3) possibly buy, prime and paint the Hierophant now that I read Malfred's post (didn't realize it was out already, I haven't been following the PP releases too closely obviously) but I probably won't have time.

I'm just hoping the weather will clear up enough for me to spray some primer on stuff.

A sour can of primer has put a serious crimp on my vow... but nothing a bit of effort can't overcome.

3 Deff choppas, 15 Lootas, and the SquigKan, all a bit fuzzier than I'd like. Let the rehabilitation begin... ugh...

The main focus is to buy and assemble the vast majority of my NG army for a Fantasy tournament in mid Feb.

Painted models are not essential so I just need to make sure I have a fieldable army.

Definitely going to try to:
Re-paint unit of Dragon Princes
Finishing touches on Spearelves (touch-ups, shields, bases, varnish).
Paint Battle Standard Bearer
Finish assembling RBT and crew.
Paint/assemble Dragon model.

Would be great to:
Assemble another 26 Spearelves.
Assemble 2 Great Eagles (stupid flimsy metal joints).
Put weapons on my Pheonix Guard (stupid flimsy tiny contact points) and prime them.
Base-coat 2nd unit of Dragon Princes.
Start painting chariot.

Forgot to add that between 1/17 and 1/31, I need to make at least 50% progress on my Block 3 figures for the LGS Finish an Army Challenge. That will consist of:

1 x Lictor
8 x Warrior
14 x Genestealers
1 x Broodlord
1 x Dakkafex

I think I should be able to get carapaces basecoated and figures washed by then
