The Imperial Guard have had many regiments released over the years, each with its own line of models and fluff.

(But for some reason all using the same rules, while marines painted different colors get different rules, but anyway...)

The RT art of 1000s of grey guardsmen marching to their doom is one of the things that got me into this game.

I'm torn about the Cats, i mean they're utter rubish in fluff and models but I've bought more of them than any other regiment. Of course I made them look nothing like Catachans but still...

Don't get me wrong, the 2nd edition IG had some fine models but they weren't really 40k, they were historicals with lasguns.

The plastic Cads and Cats that followed are no great triumphs either.

The only really 40k looking guys are the RT guard, the Firstborn and some of the forge world ones.
