My question is simple, what kind of land raider do the inquisitor lords recieve when they purchase a Land Raider as a dedicated transport.

Both the Ordo Mallus and Hereticus have access to this option, however the unit "Land Raider" is in neither codex and makes no reference as to which to use. The Daemon hunters codex has 2 kinds of Land raiders listed, the Space Marine Land Raider and the Grey Knight land raider, for the Ordo Mallus lord which does he receive when purchasing a Land raider?

Now the Witchhunters codex doesn't have any kind of land raider listed in it so which kind of land raider does this inquisitor lord receive?

Now i only ask because i am contemplating taking an inquisitor lord in my Guard army for gaks and giggles, and was just curious as to which land raiders i may use and what special rules they receive.

Page 30 Codex: DH. Page 33 Codex: WH. It is called a Land Raider. That is the one you use.

Yeah and unfortunately in the DH errata, they did give the other two LRs Assault Vehicle and the new improved SM POTMS, but not to the Inq Lord dedicated LR.

I think that their thought in neglecting it in the errata is that "hey, anyone should know that you should use the stats of the new Space Marine Land Raider because their name is the same". That, or they simply forgot, but I believe the intent is to give them Assault Vehicle and SM POTMS as well.

But unfortunately barring an additional errata (ha!) I'd ask your opponent or TO if you can use the new LR.

Yeah good luck with that. Most of the people I know go HA-GOT YA #$$%.. and force people to continue to play at crap BS.

I doubt that too many players would have a problem with carrying it across to all LRs, though.

Well, you said it gives it to the Land Raiders, when it doesn't, it only gives it tot he Grey Knight Land Raiders. That counts as wrong in my opinion.

No, actually. There are two Land Raider types in the DH Codex. One called "Land Raider", which an Inqusitor may take as a Dedicated transport, and Grey Knight Land Raiders which are only Heavy Support Choices.

I can't see how there would be an argument as to whether the Inquisitor's Land Raider receives the good PotMS. Anyone that would argue that point isn't someone I'd want to bother playing with.

wait I see what you are saying.... but at the same time it says in the FAQ that it applies to the Grey Knight Land radier or the Landraider Crusader......not the Grey Knight Landraider Crusader........so can we then infer that because it in the the DH FAQ that it applies to all Landraiders in the DH codex??

But, it doesn't. It only applies to the Units Named in the Errata.

But, it doesn't. It only applies to the Units Named in the Errata.

That is just silly.......so what you are saying is that GW put an Errata for a model in a codex that doesnt have the model listed in the Errata........

We can infer that it's probably supposed to apply to all Land Raiders in the codex. It certainly doesn;t seem to make a lot of sense for it not to, particularly since they had the rules previously (Assault Vehicle through the previous rulebook, and POTMS through the Chapter Approved Land Raider update).

But as it stands, RAW says that only the Grey Knight LR's get those rules currently.

I agree, but I find it funny that the same people that say it shouldnt apply to a DH Inquisitor, are the same ones that say it shouldnt apply to the Grey Knight Landraider Crusader because of the shortend name in the errata.......

Personaly I feel that the DH Inquisitor uses wargear and Psychic powers from the Grey Knight armoury, I see no reason that he cant use a Grey Knight Landraider........

For what it's worth, it could be argued that the omission of InqLR's from the FAQ is deliberate. They already have a (slightly different) version of POTMS from the Land Raider update (since nothing has been released to state that this update is no longer valid unless specifically over-ridden by newer rules) and as an Inquisitor's transport rather than a GK Delivery Vehicle aren't necessarily intended for the same sort of rapid assault role, so don't need the Assault Vehicle rule...

So while I would still be leaning towards playing them all with the same rules, it's something that's at least worth bringing up with your opponent pre-game, if relevant.

Point well made..... I will keep this in mind if I attend a tourny with GK before the next codex....

I play folks like this all the time, they have no problem with old rules that hurt my army, yet when there's something that helps me, 'I.E. Slain Outright', they'll argue until they're blue in the face, "That's old! It doesn't count anymore!"

I play by the rules as well, but I don't find it in my best interest to nit pick every single minor detail of another players rules, instead seeing instances like this and referring to the rule book under "The Most Important Rule". Might want to read that again.
