Busy somewhere, airin' out the skin jobs.

For those of you following my escapades with my insane Ex-wife and all the custody/visitation issues, I submit this final update.

She went bonkers.

Her Ex cheated on her...sending her over the edge. She threatened to kill the husband, kids and burn the house down. She told the VA hospital doctor that she was planning on poisoning the kids so that they wouldnt have to grow up in that atmosphere.

I had a flight from Virginia to Oregon scheduled for 11 hours after I found out.

I picked up my son and took him home with the blessing of Child protective services who tell me that they will completely support me in getting full custody of my son. "It is in his best interest for the father to have custody."

Begining last Tuesday, I was the Hero of every single city official I came in contact with.

Game over. I win. My son wins...escaping being brought up by an adulterous man and a psycologically imbalanced woman.

It only took a close call with DEATH for the state to realise what I've been screaming for 4 years.

Regardless, I thank them nonetheless. Father and son are reunited. Filing for full custody with supervised visitation for the mother on Monday. Son is already enrolled in Kindergarten.

I am so happy.

I have never failed to seize on 4+ in my life!

Figure of speech.

More like the most frustrating struggle of my life. *fathers trying to get custody of their children* and all that in a country where a large part of this decision making process is made after determining what is most profitable money-wise for the state.

...never mind the child's well being.

(basically, its not a game for the state...its business, which is more insulting)

I'm happy SOMEONE finally saw the light.

Good for you, good for the boy.

Now prepare yourselves. Do everything with him, enrich and aid his growing in every way possible. Because she will come out of the woodwork again, she will try to take him back. You have not won the war, only the battle. Whilst I worked in the SS I saw mothers who had been abusive, neglectful, been psychos and walked out and abandoned their children, show up and take them back.

Be the most utterly amazing father possible, get your local social services on side, work with the local youth organisations to get him involved in projects with other children. Make your resumé as a father glow in the dark, because she will try to take him back in time.

Be ready.

Good Advice.

Thought its highly doubtful that she'll ever be able to get him back (death threats and all). I'll heed this nonetheless. It's actually not much of a "chore" anyway...its actually in my nature...being 'involved' with his upbringing and all.

Sorry Shane, don't ever say highly doubtful, I was shocked and amazed and dismayed at how oddly the courts placed some mystical idea that a mother is automatically the best person to raise a child.

I attended a court which returned a 13 year old girl back to a mother who'd allowed the daughter to move in with the 28 year old lodger in return for drugs, taking her from a father who'd been nothing but exemplary. The lodger was still living in the house!

Congratz, we live in a stupidly biased system for women when it comes to legal matters and its unfortunate that it took such lengths but the universe tends to unravel as it should.

Lol @ the topic quote too; having a son when you're a wargamer with scifi interests is going to be pretty damn fun!

The idea is that it takes extra effort and time to write properly, and they’d rather save the time. If you can still be understood, what’s the harm? While most of the time a sloppy post CAN be understood, the use of proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling is generally seen as respectable and desirable on most forums. It demonstrates an effort made to be understood, and to make your post an easy and pleasant read. By making this effort, you can often elicit more positive responses from the community, and instantly mark yourself as someone worth talking to.
