The woman who topped her disabled son got 9 years.

Its disgraceful though, who on earth wrote that headline? And who on earth thinks that getting 3 years for a gang rape means a decent headling for the story is "Long sentences for Gang Rapists"?

I love the fact that because one of them had 'learning difficulties', he got half the sentence.

I agree with tizz, at least a little bit. Im not saying anyone deserves to get gang raped for being a dumb kid. But she deffinetly should of thought more then half a second, going to the address, and then drinking with all those guys. Second, there ARE rules in social setting with alcohol. Unless you wanna get out with your a_s torn off from a nightcap with your buddies, even if you as drunk , would accept it (and I have no guarantee you wouldn't). Rape may be the first one (i.e. rule)

Thirdly, i don't think i may be having any sort of cultural barriers in understanding this one. Rape is bad in the U.S, so is here (Romania but i doubt you ever heard of it or where it is or how people are around here). If i'm having a drink with a woman i'm not expecting to have sex with her, and if she wants it being dead drunk i may actually even refuse it if i have a little respect for her.

If you can quote the part of this article that says she had some sort of agreement to have sex with them, I would be able to understand your point. Being as that is not going to be the case, you are simply trying to shift part of the blame onto this girl. A 16 year old girl, with little to no life experience, which you expect to take 'fair portion' of the blame.

Your excuse is that she should have seen it coming, and to that I simply have to ask why. Were these men known for raping young women who drink with them? I actually misspoke in my last post. Here are the drinking laws in the U.K.

I didn't disagree with you except for the part that she acted dumb. I've been reading different versions of the article on the net and in not one of them is implied they were friends or that they even knew each other. If that was so then she really was dumb. Still the primary fault is theirs (and again just for you i'm not shifting blame)
