So, how big are the places you game/paint/chat? I am interested as the nearest FLGS to be is the GW down the road (about 700m) but its tiny. We have 2 2X3 side by side. A 2X2 section is used for beginner games so we have a total of 2 2X2 boards. Also 8 of those GW painting tables. How about you?

My FLGS is tiny. We have a small back room that has cardboard boxes and two 6x4 gaming surfaces to play on, which pretty much takes up the entire back room. I couldn't see it as being any more than 25 feet by 30 feet, not counting the back room.

My LGS is terrible. It's a game store that makes most of its money selling hockey cards. There is only one day where it's possible to play any form of WH, but it doesn't matter because everyone is more interested in playing Magic cards with each other. So, 'Warhammer Sundays' generally turns into 'Just Another Magic Day.' Anyway, about the layout, the back room is big enough for about 5-6 6x4 tables.

Well.... we have 2 LGS.... one is th official GW store, you know, people in red sweeter, a lot of kids, and few "standard" freaks (eyeglasses, a weight excess, if not tiny and thin like a stick full of ¿¿acne?? in the face.... few well fitted tables for playing.... lots of GW stuff everywhere, you know... what is supossed a GW store must be.....

Then comes our store... well its a store rated "Premium" in the GW associates (i don't know if its really how must be told, but i'm sure that you know what i mean), but it has Flames of War (very popular here in Spain) infinity, even people who plays Napoleonic comes here.... it has a LOOOOOOONG table with pencil markers, few tables more in a terrace.... and we can smoke in "associate's hours".... the people are slightly different, kids that come freely in GW store here mostly comes with an adult supervission (his/her parents, we don't take care of them), here's no polite talk used... so you can imagine that are a lot usual... its not rated for kids.... its a store and a gaming club, so the norms are different, as the people, in the place of the usual people here comes... policemen, crazed ex-militarymen (me among them), life insurance sellers, brokes, advocates.... economists you know.... not the typical people....

I usually head over to the Chicago Battle Bunker (in the suburbs). They took over the mattress store next door and turned the whole space into tables. They have some really great scenery and I've never had to wait for a table, even on busy nights.

The gaming store closest to me is large enough to hold tournaments with 32 people (we had that many at our last bi-monthly 40k tournament)

I paint at the other, smaller gaming store though... feels more personable.

After the orbital strikes, Thunderhawk bombardments, Whirlwinds, Vindicators, fusion and starfire and finally Battle Brothers with flamers had finished cleansing the world of all the enemies of Man, we built a monastery in the center of the largest, most radioactive impact crater. My FLGS is pretty nice. The front of the store is, well, the store. In the back room there's...7? 6x4-ish tables that can be used for gaming/painting/modelling, and the store provides felt + tarps that you can use. Unfortunately you can't use the store's actual terrain anymore (I think it's due to too many people mistreating it in the past, I may be wrong about this though). Finally we come to the Back-Back-room, which has 1-3 more tables that can be used for gaming. It's pretty nice if you bring terrain from home.

My FLGS is pretty nice, there are 4ish ( one 4x6 and one extremely long one that can be split into 3 and 1/2) 4x6 tables with extra fold-up tables. The terrain they have is nice but it does get very cramed on Friday nights, there are about 12 of us who play 40k and about 5 people who play Flames of War. I end up playing a game about 3/4 of the time.

I think you win the thread, there.

My FLGS is a pretty nice place, lots of tables (but squeezed into a small space, sadly). We have 5 6x4 tables, along with a lone line of smaller ones typically reserved for painters/modelers. There's also a back room for alternative gaming (read: games that the store doesn't play regularly) which is pretty fair-sized. It also serves as the WHFB area for Thursdays, which hosts both 40k and WHFB.

Regulars are nice guys, a few of 'em ex-marines of some kind. Seems like everybody's a pro modeler at the store - seriously, some of the conversions are eerily good; the current favorite is a scratch-built Hierophant that's so far used up an entire tube of greenstuff + oodles of putty from craft stores. Only problem with the store is that it's cramped in the gaming area on league nights - typically at least half a dozen games going on all in one room (which is pretty small to begin with). Along with the regular P&M guys, it can get to be really stuffy and crowded.

My local store has "The Arena" (10 6' tables), which usually suffices for daily gaming, and "The Docking Bay" (the unloading area for large deliveries during the week) for tournaments, which will accommodate 10-11 more.

(Also, their bathrooms are clean!)

This is one side of the place I like to game the most:

IRRC there is about 20-22 of these tables, 10-11 on each side of store and then some low card tables for Magic/Pokemon/etc.

This store looks familiar, not that I've been there, just looks like I've seen a picture of it before. Is this store in AZ by chance?

The nearest GW is just over an hour away, and they are small. But they also play in the food court just outside their store.
The FLGS I goto also has an incredibly small table, that they practically never use. I guess they all play together at some guys house. Thats why I built my own table and have my own peeps come over and play

My FLGS is a GW tucked away in the local mall. It has 2 6x4's and 2 4x4's. It is pretty convenient if you want to go one afternoon and play a 2000 point game and that's it. I have to go out of town to the battle bunker if I want to play a real game with 5k plus points.

My FLGS(hobbytown USA, Petaluma, CA) has a bunch of folding tables we put our gaming boards on top of.

we have four 4x4 foam board squares( they have grass and a few roads or rivers built in and 2 of them link into a 4x8 river board) and 2 battle mats.

the only problem we have is a limited number of basic terrain pieces(4-5 per table)

if the Flames of War guys don't show up we can do the 5 tables easily(those guys were supposed to switch nights for playing, but they keep showing up and they get really crabby if we take all the tables. there are 12 of us and 4-5 of them and they are all, with the exception of 2 guys, over 40)

My local's pretty good. They have a couple of 4x8s and usually around eight 4x6s up, as well as a bunch more space for magic, boardgaming, or extra 40k tables when they have a big event like Ard Boyz.

My FLGS is pretty big. There's a backroom w/ about a dozen tables or so w/ well set terrain and another half dozen blank tables. Fridays are the 40k nights and about 40 people or so show up and just play randoms. They host a 3-part tournament or something that's spread throughout the year.

Random mid-day weekdays you may find 0 people there or, like today, a few people shopping and a few people in the game room playing. All-in-all, i like it.

Pat that askala, O-H-I hate this stupid state

The LGS i go to is a decent size. It would be nice if it were bigger but it works. It is a comic, card, board, and tabletop games shop. On tourney days you can set up 12 tables. On normal days 6. It can get a little cramped on tourney days.

My FLGS is decently sized, can easily get 6 6x4 tables in the back, another couple in the front. They also have an empty store two spots down the the strip mall where they could set another dozen or more tables.

It usually accommodates about 40-50 Magic players every Friday, and that doesn't include the space next door.
