I am looking for a Gaming club in socal. I just moved here from out of state and am looking to get back into 40k. I looked around my area and there doesnt seem to be any clubs or semi organized gamer community so am reaching out to Dakka for flames , Rants and eventual answers. Does anyone know of or belong to a 40k club or group that meets up regularly ,has events ,does stuff as a group or does anything. I know there is a large 40k community in socal where are you all hiding. I'm looking to stay manly within LA/OC/IE areas sorry San Diego =(

No real shortage of game stores, especially since your search criteria is so wide. Multiple GW stores in the area also.

I would recommend you steer clear from The Realm Azgrim. A couple of the regulars there, Cypher and Spmusubi, are notorious butt grabbers. If you do happen to go there just make sure to never turn your back to them.

GMI and The Adventure's Guild are both OK, Guild's a little cramped space wise and GMI can go from ghost town to claustaphobic in the time it takes to use the restroom, but those are only flaws if you want them to be.
I'd recomend whichever is closest to you, Pegasus is a great place to shop, but I've never played there.

GMI is a good shop. Game Empire in Pasadena has a ton of gaming space. Aero Hobbies is a little cramped but there is a very active community out that way. lots of choices out here.

I'd recommend the Realm, actually. True, there are a couple oddities, but if you can get past that it's not a bad store in the least.

I might check out the realm. when are most people there i saw they have a tournament on a Wednesday so do they do alot during the week?

I third the Realm on thursdays. And theres no ass grabbin going on (mabey multiple brushes up aginst it when the person isnt even playing by your table but....)

No, you can go whenever, but Thursday's just the main day to play. I go usually on weekends, but I'm a HS student, so that's when it's easiest for me.

How many of my fellow IE players play fantasy? Me and the wife both play but we live in Hemet. Would love to get together with others for games every now and then.

There are two of us would like to, but we are waiting for Isle of Blood to come out to start rebuilding.

My Empire Army is in storage, gotta use the DoW book to run it as a mercenary force now.

I'm the other one Anpu's talking about, I'm actualy a lizardman player, so I'd mostly be proxying for a bit 'till I can rebuild.

It's all good, I am making a High Elves army right now and my wife plays Dark Elves. I've played Lizardmen, Bretonnians and Empire in the past.

I play at Game Empire Pasadena on Tuesday Nights and if you join their Yahoo group you can try to get a game through there. GE Pasadena is having a RTT this Saturday the 11th, 3 rounds 2k points and a good crowd.

I recommended Game Empire in Pasadena it has of plentybof tables and 40K on Tuesdays. They have a league as well.
The LA Battle Bunker is huge with plenty of people to play but the freeway traffic is terrible on weekdays though.
If you are coming from LA it could an hour or more in the evening.

If you are around the San Fernando valley, there is game ogre very close to the college

It's a nice place, an average amount of tables and some good GW stock as well as many other series of companies.

We have a group that was started specifically for people in this area, we meet very often.

Not in a club personally but trying to game as much as possible anymore. Work is slow and I have a lot of free time, have only played about 10-15 5th edition 40k games. Been trying to play at home (converted ping pong table, scenery department = whatever can be found in garage for now) with a couple local buddies (south OC). Over the summer we were able to make 1-2 trips a week to the bunker however now that summer is over getting to the bunker is more of a pain.

The Realm seemed like a good location, however it is about equal distance if not further from me than the bunker, so I do not see myself going up there regularly; moreso only if there is another tourney.

If anyone wants to get a game in, me, NukleusX and another buddy of ours will occasionally go up to the Bunker to play 40k on Monday afternoons (4:30 or so).

Shoot over a PM if you wanna set something up and throw down (some dice).
