Penny arcade is a fine example of a crappy webcomic. So many crappy webcomics, so much time to spend doing other things than reading them.

I dunno, sometimes they are lame but sometimes they are really humorous.

Also you have to give them credit for their awesome work with Child's Play charity and the awesomeness that is PAX Prime and PAX East.

I like them quite a bit. I'd be hard-pressed to name a better one. Sure, they have duds from time to time, but considering they've been putting out 3 comics a week for...5 or 6 years now, they've produced a pretty impressive library. Every couple of years I spend a day or three going back through the archives and I consider it time very well spent.

I can also appreciate that their brand of humor may not be for everybody.

I'm not like them, but I can pretend.

The thing with Penny Arcade, and I discovered this along time ago... if you can't recognize the topic right from the get go... you should READ their ARTICLE. Reading the article puts the comic into perspective and.. makes it much more humorous. If you are just reading the comics off the cuff without the background, you are reading a joke without a punchline... or a punchline without the joke.
Their Charity work is ASTOUNDING to say the least, for such a vulgar and adult oriented comic, they raise alot of money for children, and their local children hospitals. They are a couple of amazing and talented guys, who deserve lots of respect.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. I don't find it funny myself, and I hardly ever read it. I don't think it's meant to be funny, as such, more like ironic or sarcastic.

Erfworld is far from funny though it contains many in jokes.

I don't think that one is funny. They state something everyone has heard before and the other guy says stuff that isn't really entertaining and there's no punchline. It's like trying to watch an episode of Friends; it's just supposed to be funny because it is, not because of any actualy humor device.

So, then, what you're saying is that you don't get it.
You may not realize it, but that's the crux of it.

I get it. I find it funny.

Not every joke has a punchline. This comic is one of those.

Penny Arcade is just a gakky knock off of CAD.

Anuvver fing - when they do sumfing, they try to make it look like somfink else to confuse everybody. When one of them wants to lord it over the uvvers, 'e says "I'm very speshul so'z you gotta worship me", or "I know summink wot you lot don't know, so yer better lissen good". Da funny fing is, arf of 'em believe it and da over arf don't, so 'e 'as to hit 'em all anyway or run fer it.
