Hey all, I'm going to Games-Workshop tomorrow, and I was wondering what I should get next for my 'Nids.

I currently have:

Trygon Prime.
Zoanthrope.
3 Warriors.
8 Genestealers.
16 Termagants.
16 Hormagaunts.
3 Ripper Swarms.

Please can you reply quickly, as I am going there tomorrow.

Many thanks,

Bwaaaaah.

Depends on what kind of army you are looking for. If you need some more punch, get a carnifex (A staple in any nid army). If you are looking for a more horde-ish army, get some moee gaunts. More rippers, they are actually pretty cool and good for tying up units in CC.
That is my two cents

Hmm, I'm not really sure. I don't think I want a horde as much.

Then get a carnifex, some rippers, and something else that pleases the eye.

Pretty much do the exact opposite of this. Carnifexes stink now and rippers are even worse.

You do need more Termagaunts, and some Gargoyles would be a solid choice. Pick up a Carnifex or Trygon model and some green stuff and convert yourself a Tervigon.

What are you currently using as an HQ choice? You seem to be lacking one.

Grab either a hive tyrant, or another box of warriors so you can convert one to a tyranid prime.

Well, I use a Trygon Prime, but a Hive Tyrant does sound good.

Wut.

Read the codex before saying stuff like that.

The Trygon can be upgraded to Prime, which makes it HQ..?

Ok, I have changed my recommendation. The next thing you should add to your army is a codex.

Sorry, I had confused it with the Tyranid Prime. I think this is what the OP ment when he said trygon prime. The Tyranid Prime just does not have a model.

Did you mean Tyranid Prime, Bwaaaaaah?

No, Trygon Prime, as in a Trygon upgraded to HQ?

Afraid not. Upgrading the trygon to a prime does not make it HQ.

I think a hive tyrant would probobly be best, it has many weapon options and is a mounsterous creature so it is rather hard to kill

Yes it does.

Funny thing about that...you're wrong. The Tyranid Prime does not have a model that is a Tyranid Warrior equipped with something the largely assault-based codex does not have anymore, flesh hooks allowing the army to assault into cover without getting it's *** handed to it.

And now we return you to your regularly scheduled programming; Yes get a Hive Tyrant and a few Tyrant Guards. He does a whooooole lot of good things for the army (though you're gonna pay for it, no points-based free rides for the 'nids!) and everyone knows that so he needs Tyrant Guards to give him a cover save.

The Tyranid prime has the same wepon options as a Tyranid Warrior, and is also listed under the Tyranid Warrior description entry. it is described as 'the apex of the Tyranid Warrior strain'. It's a Tyranid Warrior. If you want to beef it up some to represent its extra armour/toughness, there's also extra armour plates in the box.

No, but I'm starting to realize how much I hate most of the people who play my this hobby.

What if he did want to buy a Carnifex? Or a Pyrovore?

I don't understand the preoccupation with winning the internet seems to generate. Now granted, some of you are GT winners and very strong generals, but for example - I bet this General Seric fellow has never even sniffed a real tournament with top notch players. So what would a casual like him care about winning? Low self esteem? Ego needing to be validated through dominating plastic models? Playing anything less than min/maxed efficient units WILL CAUSE YOU TO LOSE? LOSING IS WHAT WEAK PEOPLE AND FAILURES DO, WIN LIKE ME AND DON'T BE A FAILURE!

LINE UP THOSE TERVIGONS, MAGGOT AND FALL INTO LINE! HORMAGAUNTS OVER TERMAGAUNTS, GENE STEALS TO STEAL JEANS! LOSING IS TANTAMOUNT TO POSTING ON WARSEER!

Seriously though, I hate what the internet has done to the hobby over the last few years.

I am sorry if I came off as this, I did not mean it that way, I was just trying to help him if he wanted to compete in tournaments. and I had thought that your post sounded joking, and was trying to respond in like, but your response was just hostile.

And furthermore, I do NOT play in tournaments and have no plans to, I was just trying to help someone from buying expensive units they might regret after learning more.

I am surprised nobody sayed a Tyrant. Since he doesn´t have a HQ so far.

So I recommend: Tyrant, 2 T. guard, 2 hive guards, gargoyles, another box of warriors to convert shrikes, a tyranid prime and a broodlord, and finally another Trygon.

Get something to use as an HQ, whether an HQ, a box of Warriors (so you can make a 5 man warriors quad with a prime) or a Tyrant, but if you were looking for something else, Id say to get some hive guard, those guys are clutch

Eye of Terror... I think

Seriously go back and read every post on this thread..... its mostly either usless information, confusion, lack of knowledge on rules, or totally off topic ranting. Holy fething christ people...

Now then, first off dont knock the tyranid prime bfore you try him. He is a cheap HQ choice and a great support unit. While they hiave tyrant is a tried and true brute. Now once you buy that HQ, which direction do you want to take ur army? Hoarde? Nidzilla? mix? elite?
