Alright, at my club i use a wolf lord that everybody has come to fear up to the point i just have to put him on the table and my opponents give up, he isn't that bad and I feel that 305 points of awesome is awesome well spent. does anyone else have a character like that? I can give you his equipment if you want

Firstly, telling us what equipment he has would be very beneficial and secondly, he's a Space Wolf. The whole idea behind that codex is 'epic, ultra-expensive characters of doom' so I don't really know why your opponents are that apprehensive about facing him...

Not anymore as I have not yet experimented with my own personal Wolf Lord build out yet.

However, my old Slannesh DP from the old Chaos 3.5 codex was rightfully feared by anyone who had faced him once before.

Personally i use Logan Grimnar but i have tried a kitted out Wolf Lord and they are very hard to stop.
I also tried Wolf Lord on the cheap (MotW, Wolf tooth necklace) and he is also pretty badass.

Please do, I'm curious how you managed to get to 305. More expensive than The Sanguinor is saying something.

Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job.
Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it.
It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.

The new Archon with shadowfield (2++) is pretty resilient for such a low amount of points - considering all the new wargear, he's way better than the old one.

Id say a warboss with mega armor/cybork. Or cut to the chase and say Thraka on the WAAAGH! Its pretty hard to stop that guy when hes charging.

If people give up when you place one model I think they are over reacting a bit. That being said my best HQ is my geared out Hive Tyrant. He sits at 280 by himself and 515 in my "Command squad". He chews through anything he touches and has never lost a round of CC. A unit with 11-13 T6 wounds and 3 wound groups regenerating can take a lot of pain as well.

Alright off the top of my head;
Wolf lord
Thunderwolf
2 frost axes
Runic armour
wolftooth necklace
wolftooth talisman
Saga of the bear
2 fenrisian wolves

And some other stuff, i can't remember sorry

I'm sorry to say that that doesn't seem that threatening, especially since he can't join any units that aren't thunderwolves, and if he does join a thunderwolf unit you're looking at near half your army in about 4-6 models. They're only about as hard to deal with as Plague marines (arguably a little easier due to no FNP, though they are faster).

I feel that Lysander is just a pain to get rid of. It's just hard to damage him and he kills just about anything in the game (a horde of orks will just take him a long time).

As for my rock hard character: Fuegan. If you don't shoot him with AP1/2 he will not go away, and his tank killing ability is rediculous. Of course, I love fielding any of the Phoenix lords.

Why do you have two Frost weapons on him? You realize they do not stack the strength modifier, right?

Why would you take two frost blades? I'm pretty sure the +1 str don't stack. But maybe it does. S7... that is interesting. He has not Inv save, so there is probably also a belt of russ in there somewhere.

I do indeed have a belt of russ
1 i thought-and still do- that they do stack
2 we were doing a tourney where you had to spend 1000 points on 2 troops and a HQ everything was tooled up and i had points spare so he got another frost axe

No, it does not. Look at the CCW part of the core book. It would be great, don't get me wrong! Personally, I typically run my Wolf Lord with a small squad of WG and a Wolf Priest. What an I5 character with 6 strength 5 attacks that reroll can do on the charge is just heartbreaking for the defender....or thanks to counter-attack, also the attacker!

Wolf lord
Frost blade
Runic Armour
Thunder wolf
Melta bomb
Wolftooth necklace
Two wolves
Belt of Russ
Saga warrior or Bear
Total 255 (add stuff that would make this worse or do nothing Wolf tail, mark of wulfen and a second frost blade 300pts) (note adding the mark of wulfen means you can't use the frost blade)

I've been running a list that has this "Command Squad" in it..and its a fantastic assault unit thus far:
Wolf Lord /w
Frost Blade
Bolt Pistol
Runic Armour
Belt of Russ
Melta Bombs
Saga of the Bear

Wolf Priest (perhaps with a wolftooth necklace)
4x Wolf Guard
2x Combi Melta
2x PF
2x PW
2x Storm Bolter (or bolt pistols)

All in a Razorback, so far I've taken out everything from DPs to reduced bloodletter squads /w Skulltaker and Terminator Squads. I however don't fight alot of other high I or MC armies, not sure how it would do against them.

Ah no I'd never use that ugly combination I was just pointing out that 305pts is rather hard to reach without choosing bad options.

*Shrug* Different strokes for different folks. What you call ugly combo I call a squad that's put a local tournament win under my belt.

with his gear, the mighty dakka flyrant is a lot of fun to duel.
