First of all thanks to everyone who has followed all the separate blogs over the past couple of months, I appreciate the time reading them and commenting on them.
Secondly there is a very simple reason why I am doing this - that is folding all the blogs and future ideas into one Mega Blog. I have a short attention span, not much time and lots of different projects.
Thirdly. Here is what you can expect; There will be Sigmarite Space Marines. There will be Halflings. There will be the Imperial 36th Regiment of Foot. There will be modeling. And, because I now have over 1000 miniatures in need of painting - there will be painting. I will paint and model everything to the best of my ability. There will be dip. There will be white paint and black paint.
There will also be Orks of both variety, some Chaos, Praetorians (assuming the company finally deliver). There will be Fimir, and men of Albion. Oh. Tau will appear. There will Bloodbowl and Necromunda too. There will be Empire. There will be a Dragon. There will also be a cavetroll. There will be Air Cavalry. There will also be scratchbuilding.
To those of you who don't know my backstory - I'd be grateful if you could read the Sigmar blog as that contains all you need to know. My gaming budget is 25 pound - I spent 75 over Xmas (and switched a LP player for some awesome stuff). I've spent 20 years slowly amassing miniature at cut-my-own-throat prices and it is time to give these guys what they deserve.
Anyway. Let the great adventure begin. This is a seriously long term project; probably 2 years work (same amount of time I have left in the Philippines).
I intend to play games too.
Ps. There will also be Ninjas and Pyschohalflings.
Pps. Ah yes...and SOB
Automatically Appended Next Post: So. Very brief thing on what to expect tomorrow. I have completed 2 for the 36th. A Rifleman Harris, and a Flamer. Tonight I might do a Rifleman Hagman, or a Gunnery Sgt Harper. Pictures to follow.

Subject: Re:Manoknok's Mega Blog: Jan 25 - an explanation.
So. These are the very first pics of the 36th Imperial Foot Regiment aka 'The Saucy Greens'. Redcoats with Green Facings. Let me know any comment/criticism because I have 68 more to make.
Tonight if I get the chance I will do some painting. I was trying to do a Sgt. Major Harper with a Autogun - but the metal autogun snapped in my clumsy hands. So I will need to fix that. Any ideas what other weapon I could use for Harper? I think a HBolter would look silly bearing in mind that the lasguns are pushing the realism boundary. Their made of a super light weight alloy honest!
Anyway. A lot of my stuff will arrive from home in late Feb, so between now and then I need to crack on with the Sigmarites, Halflings, and 36th.
@ Vik! You are right about the head and the chainsword. I am tempted to keep them though just to signify that they aren't mere mortals - they are Chosen (by the Emperor) Men! Have you seen Sharpe? The other non characters though will take your advice......how is your Airship coming along? Oh. Wargames Factory...you know these things happen...but after several FB posts I finally got a email last night. Horay. Might actually see those models one day.
@ MissDee! Cheers!
@ Fifty. I have just watched the entire boxed set in the last week - did not help with my Jetlag.
@ Neil. Have you seen the Waterloo episode? Sad emotions. Oh and Hakeswill! Great idea...and I have the perfect thing in mind!
@ Weety. True don't know how to increase size though....and soon. They should be here by the end of next month...takes 6 weeks for box. Same with dip. And model reinforcements.

Weety! You are right...they are a little oversized. The ones I am doing at the moment are the Character/Heroic Figures...so I am ok with them being superhuman. The average IG Joe (see what I did there?) will have pared down weapons. Sharpe is on his way...I have a good idea for him, but I need a bit, which is currently somewhere in a box, which is on a boat, which is god knows where. Presumably and hopefully on the water.
Vik! I had a look you can get Hanoverian from Perry http://www.perry-miniatures.com/index2.html but I would not be surprised if Victrix did Prussian soon. I don't know what part of Germany you are from, so hope I'm not causing offense there. Actually all these models are my first serious attempts at GS. The only GS I had done before was filling in gaps. I am actually not sure if I am using the stuff the right way to be honest. It is very sticky - so I super glue a small dollop in the general area that I want, that way it is more attracted to the glue than to me and it is much easier to mold. You obviously need to be certain of your time and what you want to do. Then I use these very cheap (80 peso/ 1 euro1 pound) engraving tools i picked up to shape it. They have 8 different heads and using those I shaped the hair then sort of poked and pulled at it to give it a frizzy look. When I do Sharpe I'll use a similar method I think, and will take pics! Hope that makes sense!
Blackhand! Sean Bean is never off topic! Yes the books are great - show looks great too! Single concern - except from the rampant nipple tweaking in the books - is that Grrr Martin is a fairly large fellow who is quite old, and has no time management - Steven Erikson (great series of books - weird but good) finished 10 books in 10 years, where as GRRM hasn't even finished the Second half of the book he said was complete 8 years ago. With at least 3 books left in the series I think HBO will be finishing it for him. They bought the rights for all 7 (now 8 books) and have already greenlit season 2.Its out in April.
Scrazza! thanks :-)
Will post some pics now!

Subject: Re:Manoknok's Mega Blog: Jan 2 8 A Goblin, A Orc, A Squat, HW Redcoat and Srgt. Hakeswill!Oh and a Ogry
First of all. What do you guys think of the Air Cavalry. Seen as I have lost all my roughriders and IG beastman (goddddddddddddddddddddddddddddamit! expletive deleted) I am thinking of using the metal steeds with these napoleonic riders...what do you think?
So. Obidiah Hakeswill (suggestion of neil101) might need some explanation. Basically. He was hung. Hence the noose. But didn't die. He is a thief and buried his ill gotten gains. Hence the shovel on his backpack and package at his feet. He has the sergeants spear thingy. And he was killed by firing squad hence his bullet ridden boddy.
Question. Should Sharpe be a heroic officer or a Commisar? Or a count as? Please advise...I need to work out how to play IG...I've never done that. Need to come up with a army list....suggestion would be great!
Neil101! When my box o stuff arrives I'll show you the whole air cavalry! Yes lances would look awesome. Will need to make some some how. Toothpicks? Glad you like Obidiah. Just needs a little green stuff on the speer/hand.
weety! Thanks. I have this image of Captain Braveheart in my head. A 80 western/sci fi cartoon. I'd love to do a us civil war era army next...but only when i have finished everything that I am working on...and played with them - so that is likely no to happen this decade!
Vik! Beer!! San Mig Super Dry to be precise in a beer cooler! I think you get the link to the perry minis now...there are so many blogs to check each day it is getting confusing! I just had 19 emails about Weetys...and I think 24 about yours! Oh and loads on Neils too but under different names! I don't own the codex either...yes true on the archotech! Er you lost me on the hung! Haha...
Miss Dee who is Cpt Jack Harkness?
Anyway...tonight I want to finish working on my Ogryns....I started 2 others last night...and start work on some Arbites. Tomorrow morning I have 3 hrs of painting scheduled. I need to be doing that everyday really! Oh well. For whom the bell tolls!

Really quick post as the internet is intermittent and I want to get these pics up asap! Worked late into the night - but didn't do anything this morning as was finishing the penultimate book in the Black Company Series (a awesome series!)...didn't do any painting. Busy week ahead so production will ramp down, but painting might pick up. Admitedly I am waiting for my new paints.
Whatcha think?
With the Heroic Officer (can you guss who it is yet?) I wanted a Ork glyph - is that the same heroic officer who take the glyph at talegera...but I had a eagle to hand so that suits. He also has his big fudgeoff cavalry power sword, his telescopes with a incantation from Lord Solar Macheros or however you spell it. Its is a early version of Sharpe. All i have left to do from that group is a Perkins and a Hagman and the 2 other guys who disappeared in about the 5th episode. Was looking at victrix yesteray and I have a cunning plan for another Napleonic...but that will have to be after everything else.
Sentinels...what do you think? I can do four like that...provost...again I can do four...
Ogryns...my skill with GS are improving and the latest shoulder pad, which I did a close up of was made from one piece in a matter of seconds. Very pleased with it.

Hi Vic. Yes, I am going to go back and redo the bread rolls. I learned a lot doing them.
I made a tank commander last night. I will have 4 sentinels, 8 rough riders, 3 troops, 1 vet and 1 Hq for this army. And some heavy weapons....which are coming in a box.
No idea what that mounts up to.
Coming down with a mancold.

I read that and I was like...have I missed something? I'm getting slow in my late 20s.
Feeling a bit better today. I think it is the pollution. I think Manila is the 3rd most polluted city in the world in terms of air quality.
Vic!
I eat ginger nearly every day! With my noodles.
Tristan Gray!
Thank you very much!
So a little update.
I've done a tank commander. For a tank I have yet to build. I've done another Arbite. i've nearly completed the Ogryns, but need to work out how to do Shako hats. I am debating stripping my old school ratlings and making them Chosen Men as well. What do you think?
What else have i done? Oh I have nearly completed Rifleman Hagman. This was probably my most detailed GS to date (so this last week) as it meant building half a head from the GS. He just needs something I hope I have in my box.
What else? Seriously large amounts of painting to do for er every other army i have.
Ninjas
Firmir and Slaves
Halflings
Sigmar...
Orcs...
I think thats the problem. It is a daunting task. Anyway. Might be able to post pics later today.

hi sorry forgot my camera so no pics. Since bunking of work early - to run errands, which I then changed my mind on running - I made all the bits to finish the Ogryns. And finished the last of my 4 Arbites. I want to try and make a mechanical dog. I guess once I've made all these I'll have no excuse but to paint.
I do love making the models. I hate painting them.
Vic - yes almost exactly that. With Shakos.
Neil101! Haha. Firstly can't believe you've never seen all the Sharpes! I am actually looking forward to painting my firmir - after 20 years! I have quite a few so, I may make one a captain or something. Would be interested to see the Vostroyran. I was thinking of doing a Vostroyan count as as my next army....after everything else is finsihed. So. 2012.

Rifleman Horg Toothsnap! Pretty pleased with how he, and his kin, have turned out! I've done 3 so far. I don't know many have to be in a Ogryn Squad. I might do a few more. I may not. I might save up for some plastic Ogre Kingdoms and do more. It seems a bit of shame to cover the metal models in GS. So what do you think?
Sigmar. I am going to remove that breast plate and do it again. I rushed it and it shows.
Arbites pretty pleased with them. I need a handful more. But, don't have any more of those style Perry minis.
Necron; I have a few of these from my 5 box deal. I have serious amounts of stripping to do! Bye bye fingerprints.
Tank Commander, I want to be your....
Redemionist Priest; I need a colour theme. I want them to match my Sisters of Battle...who also need a Colour Scheme...suggestions please!!
Rifleman Dan Hagman. Best shot in the Regiment. Gets a proper sniper rifle (my only one). Not complete as I want to attached a little thing that I don't have but I am sure I put in my box being shipped. Pretty pleased with my green stuffed face. Learnt a lot. Relatively easy. Next time I do eat will take more time and do it in stages...so I can make teeth.
Then...the rest is my work station, some sprues, some of the stuff I have left to paint (8 draws here and half a box in shipping), finished stuff, and I think that is about it. I have made a couple of bits of terrain also. I wish I had the patience to paint.
Comments criticisms very welcome!
If you look on the first page, I want to be told what to paint next!
So suggestions on a post!

Till the last mini is painted, the last base er based.I really enjoyed messing with the Ogrys and the Naploenics. I have more to make-but just bog standard now.
Weety!
The Prince is one of my favorite books. It looks into the ideas of power and rule etc. The Patricia Cornwall books are my mums; she insisted on giving them to me even though they don't fit into my history/philosophy and what is now called Speculative Fiction according to the guardian but I call Sci Fi and Fantasy.

So I did a ridiculously large amount of painting last night. Unfortunately it was of the flat wall variety.
Got home late, and decided that I would just do some thinking on my stuff. Want to print out the collectors manuals and check off what I have. Also. Want to actually play the damned game so...
I knocked up two very WIP army lists. As I have played 4 games in 10 years (and hey I won 3/4 not bad...but that was because I used my old tactic...line up, look pretty, don't move, fire at anything)
I would like to have a working army list for each army...
Speaking of; I am thinking of limiting the Son's of Sigmar to 2,500 pts. As I likely have another 10,000 pts of marines on top of that...any suggestions on what to do with them? Two big armies?
I should probably have a small - ARGH I CAN"T BELIEVE I AM ABOUT TO SAY THIS - Ultra Marines force as I have a lot of their Characters; I have three bloomin Marneus Calgars!!
Anyway...suggestions! What is the smalllest Smurf force that can field Calgar....and what other forces can I use? I was thinking Aurora Chapter, GSing some Legion of the Damned, and er...that leaves me 5,000 pts...so....what is the least common force? What about the Flame Falcons...
Sisters of Battle (have all models except the Arco-Flagelants which are in the little Magic the Gathering shop in the mall, and have been for a long time, I may blow half my remaining yearly game budget on them(.
36th Imperial Foot Regiment (I have no chimerias - yet...might use paper)
HQ: Heroic Senior Office Sharpe + Medic, Standard etc
HQ Advisors Psyker (5)
HQ: Commissars (4)
HQ: Priests (3)
Elites: 35th Chosen Men (Hardened Veterans)
Elites: 35th Large Fellows (2 Ogryns 1 Bonehead)
Elites: 95th Rifle Division (6 Ratlings)
Troops 35th Red Coats Infantry (10)
Troops 35th Red Coats Infantry (10)
Troops 35th Red Coats Infantry (10)
Troops 35th White Jackets Conscript (20)
Fast Attack Therebridge Volunteer Air Cavalry (Rough Riders 9)
Fast Attack Therebridge Volunteer Air Cavalry ( Rough Riders 9)
Fast Attack Therebridge Volunteer Walkers (Sentinels 3)
Heavy Support: Roaring Meg (Demolisher 1)
Heavy Support: Rocket Company (Mortar)
Heavy Support: lasGunnery Comany (lasgun)
Total c. 1500
What do you think? Can field both at once...and then...have Praetorians (if they ever show up) Catachans and Cadians...and some Feral World Stuff (based on necromunda ratskins...just need a few bits for that).
Then Space Marines...
Sorry not much of a update...but hey...I am supposed to be working...
Posted this entire update on someone elses blog by mistake.
Doh!

So. My box of goodness should arrive in a little over 9 days. What with moving flat. Decorating new flat. Work. Travel (to work sometimes 10hrs) its not a great time to be a model in the Manoknok house. Flat. Flouse.
Anyway. I am plodding on with my Rifles.
Have done most of a HQ squad. But could not remember what else went in it. Have also done three more guardsmen.
I've been playing Game of Thrones Roleplay (I am actually not a great fan of mass troop movement - I like skirmishes and RPGS) which uses something called Tri-Stat. Good fun. Suprisingly!
Anyway, I need to paint some knights before sunday for the next session. I have several knights but only one house.
So some of you will know that one of the main reason I left the hobby and switched to RPGs was that I accidentally destroyed all my plastic miniatures, arms bolters of metal ones included. This left me with a armles army and quite a large pile of gunk.
From their I descended into RPG and the passive aquisition of models;
'I'll switch you those LOTD you have for a crate of stella'
'I'll swtich you those 5 boxes of models of a LP player.'
Anyway. I've just picked up 58 arms on ebay for 2 pound!
Yay! They are in the UK...but hey step in the right direction!

Subject: Manoknok's Mega Blog: Feb 11! Ebay...the wonders of.
@ Vic Thanks! QUite a simple conversion really. Replaced one hand with the medic bandage from the Cadian Battalion Box set (have been harvesting from built minis...hence the no handed medic above) and having shaved away one hand atached. Then just used a plane victrix sword arm and attached a bayonet in a saw position.
Did 2 more last night. One lobbing a grenade. One, possibly my favorite non sharpe, pushing a chaos terminator helmet with his foot with a look of disgust and effort.
Think about 14 more to make, then 20 artillery incoming.
Automatically Appended Next Post: So my Firmir and Men of Albion should arrive in the next 6 days in my box. There are about 500 miniatures in that box, several game boards, pretty much every roleplay book I have...
I hope it arrives safely!!
Anyway. Does anyone have any idea how I should go about this Albion army. Till now I have given it much thought. How would I play it? How should I paint it? I need to find some characters. I've been looking at the Giants of Albion DOW models...but they are way out of my game budget league.
Any advice would be great. Are they any Albion models available? And I am correct in thinking that Firmir were based in Albion? My thoughts so far have been about fielding these two speicies on the same side...not PM stuff....but I need to start researching paint and colour schemes etc...
If you know of any albion models I could use let me know!

Subject: Manoknok's Mega Blog: Feb 15! Seeking advice on Firmir and Albion...
Completely forgot that my Albion army is in fact supposed to be a Chaos/Firmir led army and not a Empire type army!
So I have been looking at the Dark Emissary Models...Again they are expensive!
Dang!
Anywho! I've been painting majorly. 1 IG squad done, 12 count as conscripts and a tank or two.
I've changed the scheme of the sigmarites to yellow...it looks better. Coincidently they look like Flame falcons..complete with flames and a sort of falling flame with twin tales as their sigil! So I am going to do a few smurfs and a flame falcons/sigmarite army...which will allow me to use my old stuff and also my LOTD!
Don't have a camera at the mo as my gf has taken it away with her but pics early next week and a mega update!
What colour shall i paint my Terminators for my sigmarite army? Bone white, yellow or black?
Suggestions welcome...as I'd like to start them to night!

Vic and Weet! I went for Bone.
Neil...sorry I read theirs first! But, I might try a black trim!
Hopefully pics up soon! Started painting yet more models last night...(painting my termies did not go well but will stick at it!)
Currently completed 0
Currently painting : 15 conscripts, 1 IG Squad, 5 termies, IG Captain, IG Officer, 2 tanks, 1 LR, 1 SM Captain, 1 Cadian, 4 Arbites.
I am really pleased with the schemes going on at the mo. But, it is all sort of blocking in so far and not much detailing. The Termies are the weakest link...the bone looks very faint...so going to look up a DW tutorial...

Subject: Manoknok's Mega Blog: Feb 19: Terminator colour scheme! HELP!
It has been a long time since I updated this blog (and its ancestors) with a painted model. You'll be pleased to know I have finished most of the heavy duty work on my new flat (getting strange looks from people - white guy doing manual labour in the Philippines is literally unheard of!) and will be moving in next week when I am back from site. This means I will a. have space to work in and b. get back full swing to my modeling and painting...I will also have better and natural light...and air! Can't tell you how much I am looking forward to moving. Yes I can. I am really looking forward to moving.
So here, for your entertainment: some models, and my current favorite prog rock song. I guess I really should put a space opera up to fit with the 40kness...in which case I need Yes or Vangelis.
Hey guys. Started work on another 5 cadian type guards. I have so many models wip that I am expecting the universe to complete some for me just by the laws of chance.
Weet - Thanks. I really hope to be in soon...I have relies arriving in 2 weeks, and I am away for a week in between then. Thanks for the comments on the models! I appreciate that! I use that 'and my axe' slogan a lot...when people get it its funny when they don't...erm...i have to explain. When I get around to it the drummer will have a dirty yellow coat...
Vic! - My that is a big picture!Funny you should say that about my back log and minis...I unpacked all my stuff on Friday night from the boxes I sent over. I'll post some pics of all the stuff I have. In the boxes - which I had not properly looked at when I got them (I didn't want to go all gollum infront of my cousin) - that I got for the lp player were about 20 tau, 16 kroot, a hammerhead, 30 khorne berzerkers, 2 rhinos, 6 bikes (appalingly painted even by my standard 10yrs ago!), a pretty large warhammer orc force, and a largish 40k orc force. about 50% plastic 50% metal. Oh. And a large amount of Bretonnia stuff...I am wondering if it came with a wfb boxset a while ago and someone just bought a few additional models. I need to strip a lot of plastic models of bad paint jobs...they were a few odds and sods...some white plastics 80s skaven and dark elves...some skinks...my dragon, and half a cave troll (i'll covert to something).
On top of that I have models from 2 boxes of heroquest and bloodbowl. I have the models I bought at Christmas...a box of artillery and 30 celts. Thats what came in the box...then here already I had a lot...
So...I am done with buying warhammer at least till I have painted all but one mini so...till 2014. I've told my mum and gf I don't want anymore (expect arcoflagelants for my bday!). I've a self imposed ban, and a really tight budget (its down to about 14 pounds after buying 5 paints the other day).
Playing WFRP tomorrow. Annoyingly despite all my models I have no mutants and no beastmen without guns (my beastmen where art my beastmen!)...
Sorry! Bit of long reply!
Neil: I am looking for the chair! And thanks...it felt good to finally get some paint on one of the players!
My painting goal for the next 13 days is to finish:
Human Blood Bowl Team
Ten Cadians
2 More Arbites
8 Tallarn (finishing the squad)
All my ninjas (they are pretty easy...they are mainly black!)
Sadly 5 of those days will be spent on site, and a lot of time at work, but on the other hand my gf is out of town for 10 days.
As Garth says to Wayne: Paint on!
Ps. Weet...I have dip for shading!!

And yes that is true. So many different types is actually speeding up my painting. I was 50% done with a Cadian squad last night when I knocked one over, then knocked some paint over. Doh! I will post some pics of all the stuff soon....,today or tomorrow. I am feeling a bit under the weather. Possibly because of allergens, possibly because I ate way too much TVP yesterday.
Perkustin! Hey thanks very much! I guess it helps that the those models are sculpted by the Perrys so they are a little bit more convertible than the Victrix.
Think I have finally worked out my colour scheme for the Cadians; granite boots, battlegrey trousers, yellow jacket, khemri brown armour. Just need to work out the guns.

A group Men At Arms,
Peasant Bowmen,
Damsel,
Fay Enchantress,
Standard,
Lord with Great Weapon,
a knight of the realm (foot),
and some knights errant.
I have loads of horses to knights ratio so might have more lurking! That is all I can see that I recognise. A lot of work to strip them of poor paint jobs...and of course adds to my mountain of painting. But I have a very very simple colour scheme, and a tad of fluff; they come from a place called Leshire, whose main crop is apples and cider. A very simple heraldic device of blue back ground yellow triangles up for the serfs, and apples and complicated (bulls) for the knights.
Going to see if halflings can fight with Bretons.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Anyone have any idea if that would comprise a fieldable force, and if so what pts?

Very quick update...I am way behind on well....everything...moving, work, modelling...
Anyway...
This is everything I have I'll repost pics of the complete SM and IG I have from the old blog too...
Let the painting begin!!
First up for Vic! World War Sprue! Here we have 36th Foot Artillery, 30 Celts, A SOB Immoliator, a Leman Russ. I also have 5 Kislev Horse Archers, 5 LOTD!
Secondly for Weety! Notice; paints! and dip!
There are more 40k orcs in a box, but the ones from the 2nd ed.
Last two pics, Tau and Choas, show the poor paint jobs (of swaped and my only early models) and bad modelling (that Tau has so many grenade packs on him it is ridiculous!)

Subject: Manoknok's Mega Blog: March 7 thats all folks....Firmir, Chaos, Orcs, Tau and Bretonnians
Weet...yes loads of Orcs. Currently trying to work out a. how to paint them in a classic 80s style, and a army list. I have only ever played WFB 1 time...and now I have two complete armies...
Vik! I was thinking of using him as a Orc Giant!
Neil! Yes...no idea where to start...got some minis stripping already... I might start with a squad of each so I don't get board.
Probably:
10x Cadians (Yellow, Grey, Bone white)
10x Orc Archers
10x 36th of foot (redcoats)
10x Sigmarite/Flame Falcons SM 10x Breton Men at Arms...
