I thought I'd ask everyone out there what they field in games or on army lists. I bet we find a lot of similarities.

To do this, state your army and tell what models you always take, take some of the time, and never take. No need to explain why.

Tyranids:

(nearly) Always take: Termagaunts, Ymgarl Genestealers, Tervagon, Mycetic spore, Hive Guard, Zoanathrope, Hormagaunt

Sometimes take: Hive Tyrant, Tyranid Warriors, Gargoyles, Warrior Prime, Tyrant Guard, Raveners, Genestealers, Shrikes, The Doom, Venomthrope (I think he has potential)

Rarely if ever take: Carnifex, Tyrannofex, Mawloc, Lictor, Biovore, Pyrovore, Harpy, Ripper swarms, Spore mines

Orks:

Nearly always: Shoota or slugga boyz, Killa Kans, dekkkopta, Loota, Big Mek

Sometimes: Battlewagon, Trukk, Warboss, Nob squad, Meganobz (I like them even tho they're not competitive), Burnas, Kommandos, Grots, Looted Wagon

Never: War trakk or buggy, Warphead, Bikes, Deff Dreads, Tankbustas, Stormboyz, Flash gitz, Big Guns

Record:

8th edition:
Tyranids: 5-4-3
Orks: 4-2-1

5th edition

Orks:18-5-1
Tyranids: 17-10-4

6th edition

Tyranids: 6-4-1
Orks: 3-1-0

Somewhere Ironic

Is this what MODELS you take or what UNITS? Cause models are the representation, and the units are their rules set. Example, Cadian Shock Troopers and Infantry Squads.

Meh, my list is based on units:

Imperial Guard

Always take: Veterans, Company Commander, Transport

Nearly always take: Valkyrie, LRBT, LRE, Heavy Weapons Teams, Chimera, Armored Sentinels (no matter how many times, they never expect it)

*Rare Take: ...

*Never used: Storm Troopers, Basilisk, Baneblade

*I have limited number of models, and I change my list's flavor often (I play casually). Some of my models, however, have yet to hop onto any of my lists, either because they're too expensive, they're the wrong game type, or they're really not necessary.

I'm an odd eldar player. I often enjoy using Support weapons batteries. 3 Str 6 AP- blasts for 90pts ... great for removing orks, IG and nids.

I always run:- fire dragons, 3[4] guardian jebikes (warlocks the fourth), 10 wraith-guard and almost always have at least one prism.

As for my HQ i'm split between Eldrad and Maugan Ra who both get an equal showing.

Never run Vypers, Shining spears, Harlequins, avatar or wraith-lord.

Sure, but AV11 side armor tends to get exposed while you move up to get range, and for the most part CSM needs long-ranged antitank from their HS slots, since that's pretty much the only place you can get it.
