OK, so I know the movie ain't out yet and I know it's a bit early to judge but...



Great Guardians! When I see our hero in costume my first thought should not be "I wanna smack up his face". It really shouldn't.

Thank goodness, I'm not the only one who hates that guy. You have the power to create just about anything, and you just resort to hammers and large hands?

Anyone outside of Batman, Wolverine, V, and the Watchmen is lame in my book.

I thought the Green Lantern was black.

That's just the PC cartoon version.

Anyway,yeah the original "Golden Age" Green Latern was a white guy named Alan Scott, a railroad engineer who had come into possession of a magic lantern. From this, he crafted a magic ring which gave him a wide variety of powers. The limitations of the ring were that it had to be "charged" every 24 hours by touching it to the lantern for a time, and that it did not work on wood.
In the 1950s Green Lantern was Hal Jordan, a test pilot who was given a power ring by a dying alien, Abin Sur, and who became a member of the Green Lantern Corps, an interstellar organization of police overseen by the Guardians of the Universe. The Corps' rings were powerless against anything colored yellow.

Not really, there´re 4 human Green Lanterns (well, and one honory member in name only) in the DC canon.

Hal Jordan (the Lantern in the new movie), Guy Gardner, Kyle Rainer and John Stewart (the black one).

This has always been my favorite weakness.

The yellow thing isn't true anymore, but there are also now seven different coprs. Well 9 if you count Black (Death) and White (Life). Superman has a White Power Ring.

Who cares about how many black superheroes there are? Blade, Nick Fury, and Storm are cooler than 99.9% of superheroes out there to begin with.
