Beyond time and space

Hi everybody! I didn't find anything about this game from Dakka so I guessed this is news and wanted to share. The rules seem quite simple but effective enough and are downloadable along with stat cards from the site and the miniatures are ok- might have to try it out sometime.

I came, I saw and I'm still playing.

I like the idea that each figure comes with game tokens and a terrain piece. There needs to be lots of terrain on the table.

This looks really cool. I've been hoping for a war game like this for awhile now. Has anyone played it yet?

Even for those not interested in the game, the terrain is worth keeping an eye on - only sandbag walls so far,but would look fine in 40K.

I really like the look of these minis and packaging scenery in is a great idea. Anyone played the game?

As a side note I think that S6 Engineering (see Dakka member Scott-S6) makes the markers for this line.

I've been playing it for a couple of months now, very good skirmish system and you don't need loads of figures...

Not necessarily. EM4 in the UK, for example, stocks Baueda's 15mm range but not the 1-48 Combat game.

However, I'll add my own impression that these are some of the nicest 28mm WW2 minis out there. They've got the sort of character I've been after for ages, plus they have a sense of drama that many historical miniatures - due to their understandable pursuit of verisimilitude - lack.

Went nuts and got a nice deal on one of everything (Germans and Soviets)

I agree with precintomega, lots of character and might I add the only 28mm WW2 minis that don't have horribly sculpted weapons!

I can't find their FB page, anyone got a link? They need to expand the rules set to cover some vehicles and bring more theaters into the game.

Hi gamers! I actually own 1-48 Combat, I tried it at the Play2011 and i bought two characters because I like very much the scenic elements in the blister. I have read the rules on the website and it looks very interesting, anyone here play 1-48 Combat or at least know this game?

It is a very new game, so few people have picked up on it yet.

I hope we will hear more as it looks very interesting.

Tamiya do a nice range of 1/48 scale models which is expanding all the time. They may go well in this game.

While not produced as gaming pieces I will say that they also work extremely well (well, their tanks and AFV's do) with 28mm WWII models.

Will let you guys know how it plays, waiting for my order :-)

I have tons of the Tamiya 1:48 and they're proper 1:48 scale and not as detailed it seems, but the tanks would rock!

I bought this character, Irina Krylov from the russian team. What do you think about it and which is ur favourite character?

I appreciate above all the historical fidelty of the characters and of their guns!

From the look of that, the figure is attached to the terrain piece. Is that how it is?

Killkrazy - If you are referring to Irina Krylov above your post, it looks like she is not attached. If you look just behind her left heel, there is the edge of the base. They just did a good job of basing her. On another note, I looked at the website and the terrain looks to have holes cut in the bottom - 60mm terrain bases to be exact from what they say. Looks very cool.

Funny, my wife and I were just talking about tabletop WWII games yesterday, and how she wants to play. Damn I got lucky with her! She plays Orks too!

I might pick up some of these, for scenic bases. And the models are not half bad!

That's ironic. What I appreciate is the fact that they aren't slavish to historical fidelity (figure-hugging clothing and improbable hairstyles being exemplified in this particular model) when dramatic licence calls for something less rigorous.

Slightly off-topic, though: I got to see Warlord Games's 28mm WW2 plastic sets the other day and was very impressed with the detail and character, as well as the startlingly reasonable price.

The Combat 1-48 minis aren't actually 1/48 scale (which would make them slightly larger than 32mm), but much closer to 28mm.

Weapons and military uniforms are historical, they characters are only characterized like in a videogame or in a film; in many other board games the characters are anonymous or without personality. And the minis are in scale, if you measure the height of the minis like they're standing, they would have to be about 36 mm.

Here you can see Yuri Vasiliev that is tall about 36mm. [i've taken the img from the facebook group]

Very nice. Was there a reason that they went with 1/48 instead of 28mm?

I think that they went with 1/48 instead of 28mm because 1/48 is a great scale for modellers too, because they have more detalis and you can have more fun while you paint it. Besides, using the 1/48 scale you can found many scenic elements or vehicle to prepare the battlefield
