Is it just me or does this sound like a Dukes of Hazard episode?

A couple of days before, one of them (Westboro protestors) ran his mouth at a Brandon gas station and got his arse waxed. Police were called and the beaten man could not give much of a description of who beat him. When they canvassed the station and spoke to the large crowd that had gathered around, no one seemed to remember anything about what had happened.

Rankin County handled this thing perfectly. There were many things that were put into place that most will never know about and at great expense to the county.

Most of the morons never made it out of their hotel parking lot. It seems that certain Rankin county pickup trucks were parked directly behind any car that had Kansas plates in the hotel parking lot and the drivers mysteriously disappeared until after the funeral was over. Police were called but their wrecker service was running behind and it was going to be a few hours before they could tow the trucks so the Kansas plated cars could get out.

A few made it to the funeral but were ushered away to be questioned about a crime they might have possibly been involved in. Turns out, after a few hours of questioning, that they were not involved and they were allowed to go on about their business.

That is truly epic, seriously WBC not jobs can rot in the deepest recesses of hell as far as im concerned.

Im waiting for the news report that a Parent with nothing to lose decides to go ape gak on them when they protest their fallen sons funeral... I would be willing to bet that anyone in the vicinity would give them a good 2 minutes before they intervened....

Good luck finding an objective jury for that trial...

Honestly, I'm pretty sure it's gotten to the point where the crowd watching any potential fight breakout involving the mother and protesters would only look to make sure the mother was winning and ignore it otherwise. I know I'd admit to blindness

Well unfortunately as the fight broke out I suffered from severe conjunctivitis and was unable to see anything, remarkably it was very acute and I managed to recover only moments before you showed up!

This thread actually brings, to me at least, a question that is both interesting to consider and horrible at the same time: do such organizations of hate exist in other countries, with as much presence as they have here in America? Does Britain, Spain, Japan, or any other country have such a 'church' of discrimination?

I'd say yes, they do exist. but in the USA the have the ability to scream their crap at the top of their lungs and it's protected. well for the most part anyway.

While I don't like the idea of someone getting away with an assault, at the same time... these guys deserved it and more.

Don't think the UK has a 'church' like that, we have the EDL instead (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/English_Defence_League), they're mainly against muslims.

That sounds like my kind of town. I really liked the "we need to ask you some question about a crime, come with us" way they took the ones that got out. Brilliant. The police in that town deserve a huge round of applauds.

Given what I know of them, it's not suing for shutting them down, it's suing for doing so in violation of the proper laws and regulations. There's a reason why so many of them are lawyers.

I think something along the lines of, 'Satan welcomes his good son home,' would be quite apropos. Just make sure to watch the minimum distance from the cemetery line!

I'd say yes, they do exist. but in the USA the have the ability to scream their crap at the top of their lungs and it's protected. well for the most part anyway.

It's hard to say. In the UK, you might get arrested for saying Westboro type things in public. However it's perfectly legal to do in church. The BBC doesn't go around reporting from everyone's churches, so perhaps there are Westboro style hate sects but no-one hears about it.

We had a Westboro bint in Amsterdam a few years ago, with her colourful signs and her loud proclamations of us all dying because of God knows what. She was taken away by the police after a small crowd of agitated Moroccan youths gathered around her.
