Resolute Ultramarine Honor Guard
|
a) Chance to make my own Space Marine chapter and start story with it ( to rest a little from Blood Ravens ).
b) To get back massive battles from DoW 1 ( I hate playing skirmish in DoW 2 when you can have 100+ marines to wield in DoW 1 )
c) To include more races ( for example: category - Imperium, and when you select: faction - Imperial Guard, Space Marines, Inquisition, and when you select that; for example IG: Imperial Guard - Armageddon , Cadia, Mordia, Catachan, Elysia... And when you select for example Cadia: Cadia - 110'th Regiament, 412 Regiment, 101'st Regiment, 39'th Regiment... )
d) To still have customization from DoW 2 when it comes to heroes, but to have options to customize certain units ( honor guard and such ).
e) To do more cutscenes like movies from DoW Retribution, but between the main part of the plots etc...
What about you guys?

A real campaign unlike dark crusade and soulstorm.
Sisters of Battle done right.
Chaos Daemons as a separate army (or at least as part of LatD instead of CSMs).
A The Last Stand style mode where you can select from ALL of the heroes.
More female heroes for factions that CAN have them (Retribution was an improvement at least).
A larger scale while still keeping the fast pace.
A strategic/sector map mode similar to a simplified version of Total War separate from the campaign.
A campaign which, while it might focus on the Blood Ravens, does not force you to play as them (for example, you can play as Imperial Guard in support of the BLood Ravens, trying to save their recruiting worlds and thus prevent their annihilation).
Not that all of these are that likely.

Amen to that. Techmarine would have been fun as well as the Chaos Lord cause I kept wishing the captain would get terminator armor, but you probably know how that went. I'd also cast the vote for more maps and variable waves to increase variety.
More female heroes for factions that CAN have them (Retribution was an improvement at least).
I don't really see what else they could do honestly (other than add Sisters I guess). Tyranids, SM, Orks, and CSM are out by their own fluff. There is a female Eldar and IG character. I suppose they could add Tau and throw in a female character. As far as females where possible for the factions available the only other option was to pile chicks into the IG and Eldar.
A strategic/sector map mode similar to a simplified version of Total War separate from the campaign.
You mean a meta-campaign, like in Dark Crusade and Soul Storm

No I don't, as the meta-games in those didn't really have a true economy by my definition.
Keep in mind that Total War is very complex, so when I say simplified, it's still far more complex than either of those two games, especially DC. What I'm thinking of is probably a bit too complex for a DoW game, a 3x game of galactic conquest.
As for female characters... what I wanted was the option to choose male or female for those that had the option of being either. A Lady Commissar, for example, or a female Warlock. Being able to play as the Autarch as a hero instead of a summonable ability would have been nice too.

Dawn of War 3 should have more units like the first one was nice ( or even bigger would be wishful )
If they stick with the small units like #2 , they really should rename it Dawn of Skirmish 3

I'd like something between DoW 1 and DoW 2
maybe improve the whole resource thing in multiplayer DoW 2 is 2 min in if you don't have power it's over
It would be nice to have chapter traits but if they do that it would be unbalanced (not like the game is anyway) and DLC so while I'd like it not too fussed.
I want Final Liberation style cutscenes!!!
Daemons done properly would be awesome that would be the easiest to do as separate gods though each having their own greater daemon/special character greater daemon (except slaanesh because they got boned) as the super unit
I can't imagine them not having a last stand style part to the game maybe even expand on it and have different modes and random waves would be much better than the same thing over and over, maybe even randomise the map you play on or atleast have it as an option.
I don't care so much about how it looks and such I jsut want them to get the gameplay right, DoW1 was huge scale and having so many marines just didn't feel right and they didn't seem tough enough, while in DoW2 it's the opposite. I don't care much for the female characters or being able to choose male/female where applicable seems like a waste of time to me when they should spend it on making the game work and/or balance it. An open campaign would be nice rather than a string of missions that are always the same.
I also hope to god they leave those damn planets alone from now on...get over it the recruiting worlds are pretty much beyond repair go somewhere else and fight some other battles jeez.
Better customisation would be really nice too in DoW1 you could customise a hell of a lot more than DoW2 with being able to see each unit rather than a commander which I've found rarely shows you what the rest of the army will look like (especially nids)
I'm pretty tired and probly rambled a bit too much but eh

I totally support more female characters into the game, this would show that the GW think about female players too ( beside who don't like bad-ass sci-fi females ).
And it's a great idea to be able to customize even your character in the beginning to the level where you can change his appearance, skin color ( I know only one black dude in 40k ), battle scars etc....

What do you meant? To create your own chapter symbols, or to customize some sings on your own character?
And I call already tell you that customizing EVERY unit in your army would be quite impossible to put in DoW 3. The best they could go is to let you to do a little more what was already given in DoW 1 & 2. For multiple unit's doing would require a very fast and strong PC, and many guys can't even run DoW 2.
But it is still a good idea, and I am the fist who would love to do that ( don't know if this brings cheer or tears to Guard, Tyranid and Ork players ). We shall se when the game comes out. Good job for idea man

If we're going to be seeing a recurring DoW2 theme of small-specialised squads, then being able to customise the appearence of the team leaders would be good (Cyrus looks like a paedophile...) and would help make it feel more personal.
If we go back to DoW 1-esque base-building, larger armies and Primary/Secondary/Tertiary commanders then being able to customise those would also be welcome, as well as being able to pick and choose which commanders you can have available from a set limit (perhaps two/three Primary commanders, for example a Black Templars army wouldn't have any Librarians, so you can instead take another chaplain; similarly the Blood Ravens have many Librarians, so you may wish to represent this by swapping out a chaplain for a second libby etc).

P.S. Primarch Fighter Alpha is something I'd pay for.

An Autarch is one who has walked many of the paths; if you see an Autarch with mandiblasters, swooping hawk wings and a death spinner then it's likely that he's been a Striking Scorpion, a Warp Spider and a Swooping Hawk before becoming elevated to the position of Autarch; so yes, they are generally better than an Exarch.
However an Exarch can be far older than an Autarch. Where an Autarch has wandered several paths in his lifetime, an Exarch has wandered but one and dedicated him/herself fully; if an Autarch were to fight an Exarch of an aspect he's walked the path of, it is likely that the Exarch will come out on top due to knowing every single thing there is to know about his aspect, as well as how to counter everything the Autarch knows about the aspect and will have a greater ability to exploit its weaknesses.
Generally, an Autarch is higher up than an Exarch command-wise, although the Exarch might still trump the Autarch in terms of ability.

I dunno though, I was very happy with how DoWII turned out. I never knew I hated base-building so much until I was done with it.
I'd like to basically see DoWII with a few changes:
A) Army pre-planning, such as assigning upgrades before game (Sort of like a mix of the campaign/ TT game)
B) More customization as far as model details go
C) Larger selection of units

Starcraft 2's modability. They turned an RTS into a 3rd person shooter ffs. Imagine what a dedicated 40k fan could do.
I like building bases, actually. And Dark Crusades campaign was awesome. I'd like to see a storyline with that type of campaign, for each race. Speaking of which, more races. Bring back the Tau and the Necrons. Also, more units/customizations is always a welcomed treat Tanks, aircraft, etc. I liked building 10-man units of Space Marines. Not once did I ever care for these 3-man squads they got for the blood ravens. Also, new chapter - Blood Ravens are boring to me now.
I like the idea of specilized chapters/ imperial regiments. Space Marines - Codex Chapter (custom), Ultramarines., Dark Angels, Black Templars, Space Wolves. Guard: Catachan, Kislevites, Standard guard, etc. If they did this for *all* races (Chaos, Tau, Eldar, Orkz included) it would be the most winningest RTS game ever.

uhhhhhhh no. Unless (like he pointed out) you can make a 3rd person shooter game with mouselook with TA mod tools, I doubt TA is close to "STARCRAFT TWO" in terms of modability. your poor attempt at wordplay shows your clear bias though.

Definitely do not want base building.
I like the unit balance now and the amount of micro necessary, if forces get too big it just becomes a macro game of who can build more/a-move more stuff.
Will try to think about stuff and update my post I guess.

No DLC to rob us! I say we get all of the races upon purchase. I am more or less rather pleased with DOW II. I am loathed to spend more cash, but, in the FAR future, I hope another installment of DOW II comes out including the rest of the factions. The Salamanders should be ones driving the story of course =). (rather than the Blood Ravens)

I would like for them to advance storyline via DoW games.
And that we would able to play several campaigns ( like in Warcraft 3 RoC ). To play say as a Guard defending against new 14'th Black Crusade, Then Tau waging new war on Imperium and defending against Tyranids and Necrons...
That would be awesome...

the Emperor might be the greatest psyker that ever lived, but he doesn't have the specialized training that a Grey Knight has. Also he doesn't have a Grey Knight's unshakable faith in the Emperor.
The Emperor doesn't have a GKs unshakable faith in the Emperor which is....basically himself?

Enigmatic Sorcerer of Chaos

I just started Chaos Rising. It is the first DOW game I have owned. I have to say, honestly, I am not impressed. It is no where near the best RTS I've played. I found the game play a bit clunky and, as with 99.9999% of RTS games, your guys always want to run straight into obstacles. "There's the enemy!! Wait! There's some barbed wire!! GO! GO! GO! Los!"
I also picked up Retribution. I haven't given it a spin yet. It's been a good decade since I have played a PC RTS game ( old fogey; that's me) What's up with all this registering online business? That is totally lame too.
I'll give it another whirl when I've got time, but you know you're old when you'd prefer to read a book than play a video game.
