How many people do you think Gamesworkshop have actually lost due to the 'Fine Citadel' and price increases?

More than one and less than the total population of Earth? That's a very broad question you've posted, so it's quite difficult to give anything approaching a reasonably accurate answer.

Personally, I will keep buying, but I will be buying less.

People are posting likes on their Facebook page for what they made recently.

The vocal minority however has the ball in their court because the anger over their latest price increase has started mobilizing these threads to discuss and vent over what GW has done.

I won't agree. I think GW have made mistakes that much is true, yet as another person posted it the vocal minority that are complaining.

You still buy the product and are satisfied with the quality of the model and the structure of the rules. I see nothing too complain about sure there is bumps and a lot of them but its easy too smooth over them and take the good facts in.

for me the latest june "price adjustments" along with the resin "price adjustments" for some models has brought me to my limit finally.

Ive posted a few comments but Im doing the best thing, voting with my wallet. I will not be buying anymore new GW products.

I will still buy second hand off ebay if a bargain crops up, but thats my limit.

the money is just better spent elsewhere otherwise!

My budget remains the same, which means less models I will be buying due to the price hikes.

Sadly all those who get butt-hurt about this stuff never do anything about it, just bitch and complain on the internet.

What does it mean for me personally... Well, I'm certainly not going to quit, but that Necron army I was going to start is now put on indefinite hold. :(

I did.

I gave up buying new after last spring's price rises. I only buy "emergency" stuff from GW.

That's why I got my Tyranid army for a third off GW prices.

Admittedly, if GW came out with some awesome new Tau models I would pretty much be forced to buy them.

IG and SM, no way. I'll use my stockpile and 3rd party alternatives.

I'm gone. I buy only OOPs secondhand now. Some of them are probably counterfeit, but meh, why should I care? I don't owe GW anything.

The supply does not get to make the demands.

Ebay second hand and other third party will be getting my money now, unless GW realizes what they are doing is a very poor business decision.

Plain and simple, you don't charge more for a lower quality product, especially at a time where money is tight for most everyone in the world and the entertainment industry is still struggling (In comparison)

I rarely, if ever, buy GW product at the full price anyway, I can scarcely afford to.

If they produce a mini of such good quality and design & I want it for an army, I'll buy it. I think a lot of people overreact about price increases & prices in general. I've been playing their games since I was 9 and can tell you some things are more expensive - but far better quality/design than they were (offerring more modeling time in the process) & other things are less expensive to buy than they have been before & are still of a better quality.

If you buy from a 20-30% discount retailer then GW is as good value as it ever was. From GW's perspective they feel their prices justify the quality of the product - not the material its made from. I've never been let down by GW's quality of product, I just want more variety of it.

If you think GW will lose more fans than they gain with every passing year I think you'll be mistaken. I don't think Games Day will be empty this year - put it that way.

While I'm still a little interested in 40k, the last few price rises have been too much. Last time I bought a GW mini was about the time when the current Imperial Guard was brand new.

The sink.

GW has priced me out of their business. With codices going up to $33 each I can no longer afford to buy a codex just to have and read. At this rate the next codex I'm actually interested in playing will be $40!

Another thing I noticed is that AoBR is going up to $99. Funny, when it came out at $60 it was such a great deal. Now I don't know why anyone would bother with it.

+1. This right here. I don't think GW will even lose more than 1-2% of their player base over the price hike.

Wargaming is an expensive hobby. If you don't like it, go play Magic.

This is why GW is able to get away with this stuff.

You think this hurts GW at all? They get the same amount of money from you either way? They have you by the balls.

Thats just dumb. There is no point in depriving yourself from something you want just to make a point that wont be heard anyways.
He never said that it would hurt GW. It probably wont. However, it is a very logical step to take but he still spending the same money on warhammer, but the return is less models.

Look at all the comments people are tearing into GW any chance they get on the Facebook page.

Rick Priestley said it best:
Bryan always said that if the studio ever had to mix with the manufacturing and sales part of the business it would destroy the studio. And I have to say – he wasn’t wrong there! The modern studio isn’t a studio in the same way; it isn’t a collection of artists and creatives sharing ideas and driving each other on. It’s become the promotions department of a toy company – things move on!

It's logic like this that lets GW increase prices as much they want.

I mean, why deprive yourself of something you like? Sure, you get 10% less every year for the same amount of money, but there's no sense in stopping!

And GW laughs.

GW is caught in a downward spiral

Sales are down, so GW management decides they must increase prices and cut costs to demonstrate revenue growth and maintain profit.........resulting in sales being down.....so GW management decides they must increase prices and cut costs to demonstrate revenue growth and maintain profit.........resulting in sales being down.....rinse and repeat every June.

/shrug Prices go up, for all miniature makers, on a continuous basis. The move away from metal has been going on for years. I don't see a lot new here, except the move to resin, which could yield some very nice models. Plastics getting better all the time.

Personally, I'll keep collecting and playing. Love the games. Businesswise, I'm increasing my store to 250% of it's current size, and adding more gaming tables. I think gaming is getting stronger and stronger each year.

I personally think that now is the time for other companies to strike at GW.
The unfortunate thing is there isnt anyone big enough.
I think Mantic will benefit quite a bit from the fantasy guys.
I dont know any "same as GW" 40K companies (is there any?).
GW raising prices to mantain margins is nothing new but with the world the way it is i think its just a matter of time before they suffer for this.
We have seen it recently with far bigger and more successful companies than GW, so for GW management to think they are bullet proof is a crazy stratedgy.

Nice to hear that none of this will hurt FLGSs like yours.

I have to echo this sentiment though. Prices are always going up; it just happens that the internet decided to go crazy over this one. In a week or two we'll have something else to yell about and everyone will go back to business as usual.

Exactly. The GW nay-sayers are worse than the WoW-ers.

It's the same thing in my eyes, but at back when I was playing, the WoW forums were worse than the Dakka boards concerning the bitch-factor.

Ditto.
I have a few models and books I want/need. I'm buying those tonight. After that, I'm buying used from ebay, trading or buying at Bartertown, or buying models by other manufacturers.
If that means I can't play in a tourney, I'll deal with it. There are no GW's local, and the only non-local tourney I'd ever play at would be Adepticon, anyway. If they don't allow it... then I guess I can save my money.
