My local store (new location in Manchester CT) has asked me to help run a 2000pt tournament on July 23rd. Since I'm playing at the NOVA tournament in August I figured I'd help run it in that style (win/lose) using the NOVA primer missions.

The store has a brand new location with 12 tables for games. There are a fair amount of local guys who play but I figured I'd post it up here to see if anyone wants to come and see the new store.

Details are:
* Saturday 23rd July (dice at 10am)
* $20 entry
* The Battle Standard, Machester CT (http://www.facebook.com/home.php?ref=home#!/pages/The-Battle-Standard/270395021381?sk=info)
* 2000pts

Anyone interested can shoot me a pm and I'll get your name reserved with the owner. I think this event will be capped at 24 players.

Sweet. Tommy always has great tables and hosts good events. If you're helping out with organization it should really rock.

I know the organizers of the Boston Brawl and Battlegrounds' tournament also on the 23rd were tempted to go straight W/L, but didn't see it as practicable in their number of rounds with the number of players they wanted to be able to accomodate.

If you're doing straight W/L, how are the undefeated players going to be differentiated in a three round event? If you do four rounds you can have up to 16 players, but four rounds of 2k is a pretty darn long day, especially if people are coming from out of town. Is it going to be W/L, with a certain number of points awarded for the wins, then combined with painting for an aggregate score or something?

The format will borrow a little from Adepticon and the recent BFS tournament where the scores will be gradiated, based on how well a player wins (or loses) each round. That will give us an overall gameplay winner.

There will also be a renaissance type award for the player that combines painting, sportsmanship and playing. There may even be a quiz

Ah, cool! If I hadn't snagged one of the last spots at Battleground I'd have to give serious consideration to trekking down to CT.

Great, you're in. There are still a few spots left if you can convince your friends to drop me a note to reserve a spot.

Alex, let me know if you'd like me to send you the spreadsheet we used for generating pairings and recording scores at the BFS GT. It's all set up using macros so you just need to input scores manually and then press buttons to get pairings.

Hah yeah, it would be up. I was there last weekend for a doubles tournament. Tommy is a great store owner, the new store is much larger and very handsome. I will be there on the 23rd also, hopefully we get a game in danny. If you dare play your Gk against my daemons, I know it is quite intimidating.

There are still a few places left for pre-registration. Danny, if Bobby can make it have him pm or email me and I'll make sure Tommy gets him reserved.

Any army that has a current codex is allowed. Naturally the Daemonhunters codex is now defunct, but everything else should be straightforward enough. Did you have something in mind that you didn't think would be legal?

I assumed that IA lists are not legal, but I just wanted to verify this.

I haven't decided if I'll be playing IG or GK yet. Not happy at all with my GK list and I don't even own the models to change it up at the moment. Still, I'm having more fun playing them so who knows--might have to flip a coin or something.

IA lists won't be legal at this event.

Hey Alex or Kurt (since I know you've drien this before) do you know how far the store is approximately from central Jersey? One set of directions says 2 hours the other says 3 and a half. Quite the difference lol

Well, for me, from New Canaan to Manchester, it was about an hour and ten mins. To your store in jersey, about an half and 20 mins. So with decent driving, I would say 2.5 hours, and that would be an indirect route going through where I live(granted i live only 5 mins from a the merrit parkway/hutch). For me, google maps overestimates the trip time by a lot. I highly doubt it would take 3.5 hours, unless you hit traffic, or took a really bad route. If you want help with directions through CT let me know.

Does not look like I can make it. Friends are busy.

I would say 2 1/2 hours tops from your store, Nick. When I was mapping out heading to yours for your event last month thats how long it told me it would take.

Guys, there is one spot left that can be reserved for this event. If you think you're going to make it (Kirika?) then pm me or post up here.

Once these spots fill up there the store owner will be able to take names and if anyone drops out they'll be contacted.

Less than a week to go. If you're coming and I've not sent you a confirmation note with the logistic details sing out and I'll rectify that.

It looks like we've got one spot open if anyone is still thinking about coming - one of the local guys just had to drop out.
