I am personally a huge fan of the imperium because I love the look of the marines, but my friend across the street plays chaos and they just look freaking awesome. In the end i have to give it to imperium because i started playing ultramarines 7 years ago and they will always my favorites, even if people just talk crap about em all the time.

The Imperium, because I'm a shallow son of a who likes things to look good.

It's comparing best against worst here, but Sororitas versus Plaguebearers is a no-brainer for me.

The old daemonettes make a strong argument for Chaos. The new ones are more like, "What the eff is this?"

That, plus Chaos is evil through-and-through, whereas the Imperium is only evil. The Imperium has the benefit of once being a sorta nice place to live. Then of course, Chaos had to go and that all up.

Also, every time I go and fiddle with my Chaos Space Marine tanks or anything near them on the shelf, the damned things like to stab my hand with their spikey bits. Personally, I think they do it on purpose. My god, they want to kill me, don't they? How could they not, they ARE Chaos after all. I'll fix them if they try anything though... I know how to smash plastic miniatures with a hammer, don't think I don't! You hear me, little Chaos Land Raider!? I can smash you too! Hmm, perhaps a pre-emptive strike, before they try one on me while I sleep tonight.

i like imperium because if i lived in that time, and was a normal person, i'd much rather be oppressed than be a chaos spawn and have my soul eaten after a crappy deamon controlled life

Chaos.

The Imperium is a cruel regime and the Emperor was kind of a jerk IMO. If I were teleported to 40k I would probably fall to Chaos, though if I retained all my knowledge of the 40k world that I have now I'd probably just go renegade or something.

Yep, many people like the mighty Imperium. I do, but like Chaos too.

I do believe that, for example, Khorne loves the Imperium. It keeps fuelling him with their constant warring and killing

I like chaos marines because of all the spikey bits and distortions they have on their armor. Also, I see more crazy good color schemes on chaos marines than loyalists.

I prefer Chaos mainly because that's the side I would pick. Chaos represents absolute freedom at the cost of morality. In addition, Chaos has some of the coolest conversions and models. However, I like the Imperium and the depths it has fallen to to survive and how insanely religious and xenophobic they've become. Villains are fun because, as a great man once said, "Good is dumb."

The Imperium, because I like law and order. The Imperium is practically the ultimate expression of Hobbe's Leviathan.

Chaos. They have far more variety and depth in my opinion.
