So I'm sure most of you know how horrible it is to field hormagaunts. Are they a bad unit? Not necessarily, but they are a horrible model! They fall over all the time, and good emperor, is it annoying to have 30 of them in a squad. If you bunch em up, a pie plate removes them. Annoying.

So that said, I wondered if anyone had a solution to keeping them standing? I'm aware by modeling their arms backwards, they balance out, but that could get boring fast (and my buddy already as a bunch assembled).

glue a coin or washer to the bottom of the base, the extra wight will make the balance not metter, they won't fall over again thanks to the super low center of graity

Get some tungsten disks. The slotta base makes it impractical to use washer. The disks will fit on either side of the slot. Tungsten is denser than lead so you don't need a lot to balanced out the bases.

I've also used lead shot to balance out the weight. It can be superglued into a number of places in order to keep the bottom of the model heavier than the top.

yeah, one of my guardsman that i made about 7 years ago was leaning at about a 45 degree angle...so i glued a penny on the bottom of the base and it never tips over now

1. Fill the base with lead shot, or.
2. Convert the model to a snake creature like my Termagants.

I haven't done this for my Hormagaunts yet, will probably sculpt a different tail.

Yep what every one else said. Back when I played Nids I put pennies on the bottom of the gaunts bases and that worked.

What I find annoying is during deployment and the first couple turns I am so careful in placing them and spreading them out. Then about the third time I move the 30 of them I just start lumping them together cause i'm so tired of moving them lol.

An easy alternative to washers or coins is to position the talons so they are touching the ground, and propping up the model.

I find the best solution is to glue a land raider to the bottom of each of my infrantry. It can be a little costly but I've never ever seen them topple over.

I agree to that, and some of my buddy's gaunts are positioned like that; it certainly works, but as I said, it'll look boring after a while, and there's already two dozen built with the scythes in the air.

Easy to solve this problem. Just put a Tau Manta under base. Problem solved.
