Did you guys know Canada has a friggin desert?

Its not my video, but I did find this review of the game if anyone is interested: http://angryjoeshow.com/2011/07/aj-plays-w40k-kill-team/comment-page-1/#-1

My comment got thumbsed down >_>

You're not playing the game like I play it...why aren't you playing the game like I play it?! O_O

Bought it last night and am not overly impressed. It's actually making me re-consider whether I want to buy Space Marine when it comes out.

This game is just way to basic. You get a shooting attack, melee attack, and one special power. Really? Only three different things you can do? There's just not much here honestly. I dunno I've only gone through two of the 5 missions so far so we'll see...

As opposed to the massive variety that twin stick shooters usually have?

Please look at the genre of a game before making these kind of comments... That's exactly how a twin stick shooter works.

And since this falls in the same price range as for instance geometry wars, I think your getting plenty of bang for your buck regardless.

And how, if at all, could this possibly effect Space Marine?

Colour me confused.

A post Brexit Wasteland

I like it, each class has its ups and downs, and with the co-op mode (no multiplayer co-op, boo) lots can be happening on screen at once and is fun to play, the most important part. For instance the sternguard veteran ability is called focus fire i believe, and makes you fire much faster, but only lasts a short time. Otherwise he is generally the weakest class. While many consider the techmarine to be weaker, his balance of skills rather than focusing on one thing is nice. And im going to stop rambaling now.

Anyway my opinion on the game is its a very fun couple of hours, but after you have completed the campain twice, and got gold aquilas in all the survival challenges it loses its appeal, but if i am correct, it is a but of a prolouge to space marine.

Tech marine is by far my fav.

Sternguard is the easiest IMO. Focus fire + any ranged power up = all dead in a sec.

It's a 10$ USD 2 stick shooter...

I like twin stick shooters, if you want one that wasn't thrown together check out Gatling Gears on Xbox Arcade, a fairly new one that is actually good. Multiple weapons, upgrades that actually affect how they work, a variety of enemies, and levels. This game though? Thrown together. If you think this game is a good example of a twin stick shooter you can colour me confused also. As much as I love the 40K universe I am not going to allow that love to give a so so game a pass.

The weapons in this game just made me sad, I thought I'd be getting a Plasma Gun and it was just a bolter that shot blue rounds. There are literally two types of weapons in the entire game, bolter (change color for different weapons), and melee weapon. The different characters special powers never change or upgrade and same with grenades. And shooting is way over powered on both the marines and orcs and there are several objectives in the game that you need to destroy that you can't with melee, nothing more annoying than having to destroy some huge object as the Librarian and having to do it with your bolt pistol.

As for why this would affect me buying Space Marine, you'll forgive me if I'm a bit hesitant as the last 40K FPS was Fire Warrior (cry) and the fact that THQ tossed Kill Team out as a way to supposedly get people excited for it worries me. They obviously spent cash on it since it is fully voice acted and has a cool cut scene at the beginning but the game design itself is lack luster, which makes me worry about the Space Marine game made by the same company and possibly even the same team.

Why didn't my $10 game have the variety and longevity of a $60 title? I'm so disappointed.

Yeah the problem with that, "It's just $10." argument is that for instance Gatling Gears is $15 I think, more than 4 times as long and an actual good twin stick shooter.

And the cost of a game has nothing to do with whether it is good or not.

I agree the cost doesn't have to do with it, except a large deal of the complaints are essentially that it isn't as robust as a full on $60 instead of being exactly what it was advertised as: a budget twin stick arcade shooter using the 40k license. Gatling Gears also cost 50% more that than Kill Team so it isn't as if they are the same price. It is a 7 out of 10. It isn't surprising but it does what it said it would do and delivers a fun arcade experience with 40k characters.

It's a $10 twin stick shooter. It has decent enough graphics and the story is reasonable in length. It's not a stand alone arcade game like Gatling Gears that a developer has been working on as their main title, it's a quick and cheap game that is supposed to make people aware of the bigger and better game that's coming along. Essentially, it's a marketing tool more than anything else.

I didn't know there was a story to the game I just have me tv on mute the whole time I'm playing. I guess its time to listen. Also for that $10 you get a free power sword for space marine as well as a semi fun twin stick shooter think about it like that.

I liked it alot, played through the campaign co-op this weekend, although I'm thinking it will be a much rougher go with single player.

Also, anybody notice the power axe seems to have a tad longer reach then the lightning claw?

I wanted this game, but I don't think I'll ever get it due to having no friends.

its got the reach, but not the speed. the lightning claws rip stuff up quick.

I just played through the whole thing on solo and it gets interesting.

i JUST hit rank #44 in the world on the minelayer level at the end, just hold your ground and chew up some nids for a while you can really rack up the points.

I played it with a friend with the sternguard and techmarine. we got over a million points. LOL its a great meatgrinder mission to just rack up the points.

I like that its something 40K trhat I can just mindlessly kill things with. its just entertaining. I REALLY hope they make expansions for it.

Definately worth the $10 to play with a friend, shoot the ding-dong out of a bunch stuff and see some of the models come to life.

I am hoping the companies releasing the games will consider adding content and perhaps even changing the core of the gameplay to make it more complex and interesting.

For instance, I would probably pay another $5-10 to play another 5 missions vs. the Tyranids or whatever.

1)What time did you get?
2)Are there seperate leaderboards for co-op and single player?

not time based, its score based. I think I am hitting the 701,000 mark points wise. I am going to play it again when I get home and grind some more. I hit that in solo player mode. in co-op we busted a million. I think we could hold out for about 2 -3 million points in co-op. its a great mission to just light up some nids.

there are seperate leaderboards for each one. I wish they'd unlock it for Xbox live play.

look for me, my Live ID is R1mmy.

I'm just not sure whether they have seperate leaderboards for co-op or not...
We are talking about survival here right?

I enjoyed it. It was mindless entertainment and explosions, exactly what I expect from a Twin Stick Shooter.

A bit shorter than I hoped, but does have enough replay value to be worth $10.

OH sorry my bad. my ranking is not in survival mode, its in campaign mode. it ranks campaign by points.

yes they seperate all flavors, campaign single or co-op, then survival campaign and co-op.

Good.
It's not that i'm uber competetive about the leaderboards but as long as i'm ahead of Nick then we're all fine.
