These are probably getting new kits, Finecast or plastic

Really? Of all the Tyranid units that they could be sold out of, it's the Venomthrope? What the hell. I was expecting Hive Guard or Zoanthropes to be on that list, not Venomthropes.

Those are models being converted to finecost or being reboxed to different sizes or contents (like the ogre battalion).

Surprised to see Draigo on the list considering he’s such a recent model.

Don't tell me they're finecosting the Chaos Dread, just when I hold out hope for a kit (Because loyalists have 4 variants) they could possibly shaft my expectations even more.

Much as I loved that kit 2 decades ago, it's already exorbitantly priced and giving the finecast treatment to it it will be even more prohibitive.

Hopefully it will be a new kit but I expect otherwise.

That is incorrect, at least for now. They are all metals that are out of stock until the date they give.

I've placed orders for metals for the past month, and every time I get an email like this.

I've ordered things off the list when the date says they will be in, and I get them in metal.
None of the stuff that has been on the emails has shown up as Finecast or plastic.

I get the impression they have a couple metal spincasters left and are building stock as needed.
Hence the delay.

I think that is literally the first time the Chaos Dreadnought has been out of stock anywhere since 1994.

They have Epic SM drop Pods on the list. I doubt they are getting finecast, but If they are, I am going to squeal like a little girl on Xmas.

This is just a rundown of stock that they don't normally produce.

"Out of Stock" does not mean "Being Converted To FineCast".

It means "Out of Stock".

The OP is here in the US, and right now Finecast models are supposedly being produced exclusively in the UK facility. Why? Who knows. I'd suspect it has something to do with centralization and making it easier to figure out batches, but I can't say for certain. What that means is that Finecast models can feasibly drop to levels of stock where GW can say they're "Out of Stock", and they need to wait for more to be shipped over from the UK.

I highly doubt they would give ol Tons'o'Fun (the metal Chaos Dreadnought) the finecast treatment... but I've been wrong before.

Anyways, if you really want a Chaos Dreadnought without using the metal one or resorting to Forge World, just convert one from a plastic Loyalist Dreadnought kit.

Or you can wait and hope for a new Chaos Dreadnought kit to come out with the next CSM Codex... whenever that may come out.

If you want an example of what you can do with one, you can check the link in my signature. I've been working on a Venerable Dread for my Iron Warriors, and really the only limit is your imagination and skill with greenstuff.

On topic, I might have to order a few things, such as the metal Chaos Space Marine Daemon Prince, before they too go "out of stock".

I'm not surprised Draigo was pulled at all. The Finecast threads prominently feature Draigo as one of the more problematic models, so he would be a good candidate for re-molding.

I sure hope they release a plastic Chaos dread, and don't just resin the metal dread. I can't imagine why, in a world with a plastic venerable space marine, anyone would buy either, though. Remarkably minor conversion required, tons of options.

Tsk. I was hoping Fire Dragons would get redone in finecast. They and Howling Banshees are widely popular among Eldar players. At least the Howling Banshees might get redone.

I don't think anything from the current tau range besides maybe the little shaman air guys will end up fine cast. The broadsides and other metal/plastic combo kits are being released as pure plastic kits with the new tau.

As far as Eldar stuff, I imagine most of it will come out with the new eldar release. I think (which means I guess) that will be after 6th edition next summer, even though some eldar stuff is already done. And by some I mean the jet bike things. Maybe more, but I have only got to see the bikes. Anyway I think maybe (or rather guess) that the eldar aspect warriors will either be getting plastics with the range re-release or be fine-casted then. Its the same with the sisters, tau, and necrons. I don't think we will see them out until after their respective releases.

Maybe I'll have to buy Boss Snikrot again when he comes to be in finecast. Meaning i might get to sell my 3rd painted version of that model the same way I sold the first two.

It's the Dreadsock rush. They're probably going to go failcast or plastic at some point, so everyone is stocking up on the metals before Dreadsocking slips into legend.

They probably never cast any Venomthropes in the first place, and somebody finally tried to order one.

Indeed. And Broadsides won't become worthless in the new book unless they offer something tougher, cheaper, and harder hitting in the new book, so no rush.

(still hoping for a broadside submunition round of S6 AP4 Small Blast)
