thought about this after watching "American dad"...what would do if you never had to sleep? say someone invented a pill that made you feel like you’d just slept 8 hours and had no harmful side effects what would you do with those extra hours?
me? well I'd just watch a crap ton more anime than normal, learn how to play the guitar and get a few armies painted. maybe read through the black library or any other book series for that matter

Work more to support the hobby called Wh40k that is slowly but surely draining the lifeblood from my bank account. Doing night security is fun. I sit at a desk in a closed airport, and make army lists and look at dakka on my laptop. Getting paid to work on warhammer stuff is great!

I would do the things I normally do on nights I can't sleep. I read. Insomnia allows me the luxury of being able to pick up a book, and have it done by morning.
What would be more impressive is a pill that makes you sleep that is harmless and doesn't leave you feeling fethed up the next morning.

Doesn't sound like a good idea to me. We don't even entirely understand why we need sleep. Just because we can fool our brains into thinking we don't doesn't mean that it isn't the case.
For example: I can drink until I don't feel pain anymore. That doesn't make me immune to injury.
