Me Again!

I was thinking about the oldest warriors or people in the 40K universe and thought that Bjorn the Fellhanded and Abbadon the Despoiler are the oldest (apart from the Emperor). I was chatting to one of the GW chaps and he said Huron Blackheart might be older than these two, is this the case? Or are there older warriors out there?

Cheers
Andy

Eldar are the oldest, but Huron is definitely younger then Bjorn and Abbaddon.

So which of the Eldar would be the oldest? Because race wise humans and eldar are both very old!

Easy. The C'tan. Barring that, the Necrons. Here before the warp became turbulent. Here before the Eldar were a twinkle in the old ones' eyes. Easy.

Barring that... Pick a Chaos entity connected with anyone but slaanesh. Go ahead. That is older than any eldar or dark eldar.

Eldrad is rather old (if we count his bodiless mind...)

But yeah, Asdrubael is the oldest mortal being in the galaxy right now I believe.

Definitely not Huron, he's a 41st millennium boy, 10,000 years younger than Abaddon, Bjorn and the chaps from the great crusade. If any of the primarchs who haven't ascended to daemonhood were still alive (possibly Russ, Vulkan, Corax, Omegon), they would, presumably, be older than any Astartes, if they counted for the purposes of the question.

I don't know whether the C'tan or the Old Ones would count as 'alive' in normal terms. Were we looking specifically for organics, it might be possible Slann from the time of the war in heaven still to be alive. Otherwise, Asdrubael's probably a good choice, though if he were, as he is described, young (though 'young' for an Eldar might still be centuries-old) at the time of the fall of the Eldar, then he might not be all that much older than Bjorn and his fellows, and presumably much younger than the Emperor (who may or may not be deemed 'alive').

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

The C'tan are the oldest beings in the universe, being as old as the universe itself.

Following them are their Necron servants.

After that is the Emperor... Though him being "alive" is arguable.

If you are only counting "mortals," probably Vect and the occasional really old Haemonculi, Vect IIRC predates Slaanesh.

Bjorn has never counted because he is a dreadnought, and dreadnoughts are not living people. If I took dreadnought away, Bjorn is dead. If I took Dante's armor away, he would be naked and angry.

I still don't think Abbadon counts because of the daemonic gifts. Being gifted by nurgle is like being a zombie, and we all know zombie's aren't alive.

Eldrad now that I think about it might be nearly or even as old as Vect, he was a Farseer before the Heresy even started.

I'd forgotten Eldrad, does he make any remarks in Fulgrim about his age? Ignoring the fact he's presently presumed dead, I'd even guess he might be older than Vect. The Phoenix Lords, however, are described as being from the time of the fall, so would be 10 - 15,000 years old, not millions.

Does being on life support mean you are dead? No. A Dred is giant life support. Thus, a Dreadnaught is a living thing.

And Plague marines are very much alive. Alive enough so that I can kill 'em. So yeah, Abbadabbadoodon is living.

And what about Kharn?

No, but Eldrad is still a Farseer, which I assume takes a while to become.

Huh, weird, I misremembered then, I was under the impression they originated from the War in Heaven.
