(I live in Nepal, regardless of what this flag sys, though I am from the US-ofA) So I have recently learned of armed police (police with blue uniforms, steel hemets and assault rifles) battering down the doors of a prominent sweets and pastry shop chain, the Nepali military is a bit dysfuncuional, but they take things seriously. Apparently the chain (a local one) has been raided in a mass-group-of-raids against fanta, Coke and candy factories, when the police arrived at the procesing, there was a Direct pipeline without any filters whatsoever, form the sewage ditch to the mixing vats. yes, they have been using sewage and ditchwater for their pastries and other stuff. before you claim BS, this is the third world, for many chains, they don't care whether their customers get sick. they gross one million rupees a day. now to the bottling factories. The bottling factories of sodas such as fanta, Sprite, even milk refineries were raided earlier this week. when the HealthDept armed police arrived, they trawled the bottoms of the syrup tanks and found over three hundred dead roaches in each tank. when the contents were stirred up, several rats that had evidently drowned floated up. next time you holiday in Nepal, bring your own food. This has been confirmed as 100% true, by dozens of police, Government officials and bystanders. what do you think of all this?

Sorry to spoil this for you but the military wear uniforms a lot...
It's kinda their thing.
Incidentally why do the Health Department have armed police?
And frankly the fact a company would do that is shocking.

I've been to Nepal and this story doesn't shock me at all. Nepal makes India look like a Utopia. I became a vegetarian when I went there after seeing a few of the butcher shops in Thamel. I only drank Tuborg canned in Denmark and the bottled water they sold everywhere. I also got to witness a few heavy beat downs done by the authorities, who seemed to be everywhere.
Nice to hear they are trying to stop the pop manufacturers from using water with human gak in it.

The water is bottled in/near the Himalayas. The big soft drink plants are in Kathmandu. The rural areas might not be up to 'code', but their source of water would have a lot less human feces, decomposing bodies, garbage in general than Kathmandu. Seriously, Nepal was the year 1100 AD with cars that all needed oil changes.
